Pre - cruise reservations has not been implemented.  During our recent b2b on Adventure OTS sailing 3.31.24 reserved as usual UDP slots on ship after boarding at Chops.  During HH I provided Crown Concierge(Vanessa) our 2nd leg 4.5.24 UDP reservations. She indicated a new software update would roll out during our 1st leg allowing direct UDP reservations while onboard.  I was doubtful! Checked the mobile application continuously. Nothing!  Now It's turn around day, consecutive cruisers round about to Homeland Security. Back on board ship, scan new card by security for 2nd leg!  Immediately opened mobile application and BINGO!  Yep! Hurray, was able to book all UDP dinner reservations myself on the mobile application 🙂  GREAT!  Hope this helps!

How easy/difficult was it?  We all know how Royal IT can be…

Dunno about it closing but it was struggling last time I went in and THAT was probably 2 years ago. Lots of empty units ....  The nearest decent mall is Melbourne Square but that's nearly 25 miles away and is nothing special, just 'healthier'. You might be better off with Florida Mall even tho it is Orlando .....

You say “healthier”, I say thriving. Compared to our closest mall in Vero, at least. 😜

I use Allianz and have an annual policy. However, my daughter had coverage through Kaiser Permanente.  My SIL is a state employee and their coverage is fantastic.

That’s awesome!  I’m a Florida local govt employee and we have no such thing, sadly. Been using Nationwide cruise and thankfully haven’t needed to use it.

Under $1200 !  You got off cheap. On my last cruise in December my daughter had a medical emergency and Royal billed us $2700.

Thankfully, insurance covered 2629 of it.

we were very impressed with Royals medical team.

Which insurance company do you use?

  5. They aren’t offloading the passenger until the air transport gets there?

We had several medical emergencies when we were on Adventure a few weeks ago. Left Dominican Republic and had to turn around and go back a few hours after we left to evac someone. Couldn’t make St. Thomas because of it and went to San Juan, where they evaced someone before we left. Later, were going to divert to Miami on the way back to Canaveral to evac a crew, but they stabilized.

Bonded means that the cat was played under the Captain's responsibility to not get ashore.  Just like a Bonded warehouse.  Has nothing to do with the cat's feelings.

My bad for trying to make a joke…

When I was at Barefoot Beach a few years ago it was not he same. It was an upgrade with shrimp etc.  but it would not surprise me if they had cut it back. I have not been there this year.

I have a strong suspicion it varies with the ship, too. I was on Allure in an Owner’s Suite - probably our only time as we treated ourselves last October since it was our first cruise back.  We had looked forward to Barefoot access and the better food. When we got there, I was surprised to see normal burgers and hot dogs. I thought it was strange and if that was upgraded, what did the regular buffets have. So, we went to look. It was the exact same. Not one thing special about Barefoot when we were there. But, a few weeks later, I saw someone on a different ship with what I would have expected. Oh well for us.

This part was really necessary, thanks.

There could be food I didn't know about like I mentioned, there could be a nice place to go for a walk (like the tiny nature trail on CocoCay that's still there but no one mentions), the shopping may be better than I'm aware of, etc.

We love CocoCay despite not being beach or pool people, largely for the food.

    Duh! 🤣

We are not beach people, either.  My husband insists we get off the ship each and every time we stop there. So, we lather up with our sunscreen and are usually back on the ship in about an hour - we just go down in our normal clothes and not swimsuits.  We wait until there are no lines at the gangway.  We’ll walk down to Dragon’s Breath and then down to the Artisan market.  There is a “nature” trail, which is a short walk up a hill, which we usually “hike”.  We eat lunch back on the ship. It is much more calm and cooler than the buffets on Labadee. IMO, I don’t think you’ll be missing anything if you take a walk and head back to the ship. We’ve never felt like we’ve missed anything. FWIW, CocoCay has MUCH better food than Labadee.

  9. We moved back to our original sailing today. I reached out to my TA and she hadn’t gotten the email from Royal yet. Maybe it was mixed in with the January cancellations and she just hadn’t sorted through to it yet. Either way, I was able to get my original room and am happy. We had gone from an 8 night to a 7 because it was the only thing that fit my schedule and didn’t get any compensation for the loss of day since prices skyrocketed since I had booked. Now we’re back to our 8 with no Labadee or Coco. Very happy to have the extra sea day again. It’s one of the things that made me want to book that particular sailing. Keeping my fingers crossed that they don’t re-cancel it.
