They totally skipped that occasion on the enchanted last time.

It used to be a big event a few years ago.

    Thanks MissP22...

  2. We were on the Solstice this past May and all suites, including sky suites, have access to Michaels Club, which most of you know is wonderful. In addition, we had an S1 corner aft on deck 12 (Resort deck). The views were spectacular and the overhang on the balcony was great for complete privacy and protection from inclement weather. We did get some noise from above, typically in the AM, but not enough to deter us from booking this stateroom again:D.

  3. 6102 is against a Celebrity Suite so their balcony cuts the view a little.

6100 seems identical cabin but better view

    (^ both Starboard)

    or 6129 Port

Any suggestions, I think I have my choice.

    Thanks

Although my wife and I have never been in any of the staterooms you mentioned, everything I have read about suggests booking 6145 or 6146. These 2 Sky Suites (S1) are next to the Penthouse Suites (PS) and have the same décor as the PS (including dark paneling like the famous ocean liners of days gone by), are larger then normal S1, and the bathrooms are simply amazing, separate shower, tub and 2 sinks! I have also heard that the service should be nothing less than exceptional since these S1 share the same PS butler, room steward, etc.

I have also heard that since these 2 S1 staterooms have connecting doors to the PS, sometimes the PS passengers will invite the S1 passengers next to them to their PS parties. Wouldn't that be a big plus!!! However, since the PS have a baby grand which is positioned next to the connecting door it could lead to some noise issues...especially if kids are involved. Ones who like to bang the keys:eek:!! Nevertheless, we have booked 6146 on the Infinity for its 9/3/17 Alaska sailing:D.

Below is a You Tube web address for a video of 6145 on the Summit (Infinity's sister ship):

  4. Does anyone know off hand if Southwest is part of Luggage Valet via Seattle?

And if so do they contact SW for reconfirm flt departure ?

SWA is part of the valet service for Celebrity with Seattle departures. We've done it twice in the past 2 years and are doing it again next week.

  5. Thanks Kennelgang, but I have a question. If STILA is the only one that can pick you up a baggage why would you collect your baggage and meet them outside? The United TownCar and Limo says they have the option of picking you up in baggage also. thanks

You have to collect your luggage from the turn table and move it outside near the curb in order for the car to pick you up. You do not have to lug it to an elevator to go up to the skywalk and then back down again. I was informed that STILA was the only limo service that was authorized by the airport to pick-up passengers just outside baggage claim.

  6. Has any one used either United Limo or United Town Car and Limo Service? Comments on either one?

or do you have a preferred Town Car Service? They all seem to run $40-$45 to Downtown Seattle. thanks

Yes. STILA is the only limo company authorized by SEA-TAC to pick up passengers at baggage. That is a very big deal since one does not have to "lug" luggage up the elevator over the skyway and back down an elevator to reach the ground level in order to pick up other ground transportation. Their prices are very competitive ~$45 + gratuity to downtown hotels and ~$60 + gratuity to pier 91. There phone number is (206) 243-1811. There is a customer service phone at baggage and you can call them from that phone or via your cell once you have collected your luggage. They will then meet you outside the door adjacent to baggage claim. They have town cars and limos including stretch.

  7. We were very fortunate to be upgraded to a corner suite on Solstice for a 12 day Med cruise. What a treat. The suite was huge, private entrance and huge balcony. We were on deck 12, cabin 2146 and thought it may be noisy from the Oceanview bar activity above but, for us, it was not.

It is a bit of a walk to the stairs or elevators but it really was no problem. The butler service was impressive...as if they knew it was along walk and did every little extra to make things comfortable.

We have been in all he "classes" on Celebrity and the suite life aft cabin was far and away the best.

    Hi Pete,

We will be in this stateroom 3 weeks from today (7 nights Alaska rt Seattle) and are really looking forward to it. I did hear about early morning noise issues from the Oceanview directly above and had some concerns...but figured we are in Alaska (our 11th Alaskan cruise) and its cold in the AM so might not be too many people outside Oceanview eating an early breakfast!! LOL.

Do you happen to have any pics of the room?

  8. I ordered tags for our 5/13/16 Solstice cruise about 2 weeks ago. Haven't arrived yet. If they fail to arrive, Plan B is to print them from Celebrity's website. Someone advised to cover these paper tags with clear packing tape. Punch a hole at each end, attached each tag to your luggage and close the ends with a ty-wrap...problem solved!! This works well just prior to arriving at the embarkation port. My plan is to attach them once we retrieve our luggage from airport baggage claim while waiting for ground transportation to the port.

  9. According to the Celebrity website, the dress code for Luminae is Smart Casual.

Has there been a recent change, not yet reflected in the website?

I really don't care what the policy states. When we were in Luminae last time nearly everyone dressed up and some to the "nines". Of course, this was in Alaska, not the Caribbean, Mexico or Bermuda where casual is more the norm.

  10. I have always felt that "dress" varies according to itinerary. European cruises tend to be dressier. The argument here is that most non-European passengers do not want to bring additional clothing, due to luggage fees. I don't buy that. We feel if you can afford to cruise in Europe, you can afford some additional travel fees. Flame away!

I couldn't agree with you more. Even in Alaska they dress up for dinner on formal (chic) nights. I do and so does my wife. In fact, sometimes I dress up on non chic nights just for the fun of it. Where in your "normal" life can you do that, except maybe on holidays and special events?

I'll stand with you in the flames!!

  11. I agree, having stopped in Victoria many times we just enjoy the waterfront, find some fish and chips for dinner, grab a beer or 3 and stroll around, its wonderful to just relax and take it all in, no need to rush around on tours and such just enjoy a beautiful summer evening before heading back to the ship later that evening.....and the little boats are fun too, much better than the bus or shuttle....

Where of you pick up the little boats? I have never noticed them at the pier. I agree, the Bard & Banker on Government Street is a great place to have a brew or a glass of wine!

  12. We have cruised Alaska 11 times and are going again in May. By far the best tours in Alaska are (in order):

    1. Island Wings floatplane in Ketchikan

    2. Dogsled ride on Mendenhall Glacier in Juneau

    3. Tracy Arms Glacier Explorer

    4. Orca Enterprises Whale Watching with Capt. Larry in Juneau
