  1. I believe this is Captain Leo? He is the best in the Liars Club show. We also sailed with Captain Kate in October on the repo cruise and loved her. We will be on the Summit right before dry dock. This will be our 6th cruise on the Summit. The whole crew is outstanding.

Hi Jean - I think Captain Leo is on the Equinox. Pardon the spelling, but his last name is Paliokrasses.

We sailed with both Captain Leo and Captain Kate in August/September and would love to have either on our upcoming b2b in 2 weeks.

  2. Just wondering....after reading about all the glorious perks everyone seems to be receiving, are some cruises excluded from this? On my upcoming cruise ( Sydney to Honolulu) I was told no perks would be offered at all. Granted I used a TA and had not booked while on board, but wonder why nothing at all was offered. Anyone have insight about that? I was so hoping for a drink package and now have to pay for those cucumber martinis I enjoy!

    It is a Transpacific/repositioning cruise.

  3. Will the itineraries also include 'Edge?'

I know the first ship is slated to be launched at the end of 2018 and these itineraries are for 2017/2018. Do they finish just before Spring TA's or go through the year, as Azamara does (all 2018 now out for Azamara)

They would go through the winter season of 2017/2018 in the Caribbean...around April 2018. Edge should be next year.

  4. Just been reading the thread about X offering paid upgrades in the US by email to Captains Club members. We are Elite plus but never get any email from Celebrity. I have checked my profile and contact details include my email address. Any other UK CC members get offers. I always use a TA so wonder if it is only direct bookings where email is sent. I am aware that this upgrade email is ONLY going to US guests right now but once it becomes international I would want to be contacted.

Hi Elaine - I forwarded the e-mail to you. Regards to Lysle.

  5. So, if Captain Leo came on the ship on May 31st and the rotation is 4 months, that should mean that he's not leaving until the end of September (he'd be on June, July, August, September). Maybe the rotation is only 3 months on??

Captains usually work a 3 months on, 3 months off schedule.

  6. I would love to see Celebrity return to Baltimore. That's how my love affair all began with Celebrity on the Galaxy in May 2003. Is the problem with the Francis Scott Bridge or the Bay Bridge for the larger ships. So the M class will not make it then?

The Francis Scott Key Bridge has less clearance than the Bay Bridge. I think the M Class ships are too tall for the Key Bridge. We loved sailing on the Mercury from Baltimore...so convenient.

  7. Anybody try to pay their Seapass Account w/ Celebrity Gift Cards? Do they still want your credit card?

What about buying via the pre-cruise planner w/ Celebrity Gift Cards? We're planning on getting several smaller denominations, because once one of our larger gift cards got zeroed out by mistake.

Can the Concierge host take our gift card payments?

If we end up with a negative balance, do they refund to the gift card or our credit card?

    Any problems?

Read the fine print on the back of the gift card. It states where it can be used as well as where it can NOT be used.

  8. I thought I was the only one that despised this "tradition". I actually thought about the correct word to express my disdain for this and despised is exactly how I have always felt about it.

I just came off a cruise 2 days ago and tried my best to just ignore the loud music out of speakers full of static. The horrible singing and dancing and the general disruption of my meal. In what upscale restaurant is this performed? None that I frequent. I have watched the service staff closely and feel so bad for them. I always felt that they are forced to sing and dance when they are trained in providing superior service.

I am very pleased that I will not have to endure this again when we go on our Alaskan cruise in May. Way to go Celebrity!

    Well said!

  9. In the process of arranging the second part of B2B on Millennium.

How does the changeover work? Do you have to pack up and leave bags out the last night and they deliver them back to you at your new cabin the next afternoon? Is it best to keep the same cabin, or would you still have to vacate and remove everything between cruises?

Am inclined to book a different cabin, just to vary things a bit but wondering what is best to do. Thanks.

Book the same Cabin! That way you do not have to pack anything...you really have another port. Just leave your cabin in the morning as you usually do. When you return later your cabin is in order.

Having the same cabin for a b2b is like adding 2 days to your cruise. You do not have to spend time packing on the last day, and you do not have to wait for your luggage and then unpack on the first day of the 2nd voyage.

  10. BTW, the introductions of dining staff on the last formal night, and napkin waving is gone too.

    Hi Andy,

That's great news. I never enjoyed it with the Cruise Director yelling into the microphone and the ear splitting music. We did have it on the Eclipse in January, but I am glad it is now gone. Thanks, Andy!

  11. Constellation in the days when she did the 14 night cruises was my favorite. I prefer any of the M-class ships to the S-class ships. I like having drawers next to the beds, like having the drawers in the closet, like having the closet face the hallway rather than having to crawl between the bed or couch and the closet door.

I admit that the S-class bathroom storage is better, and the way the connecting cabins work on the first four S-class ships was a clever idea. But that over-the-bed storage area is not a plus, I'm too short and I don't like to have things stored over my head in case of rough seas, so I can't use it at all.

I completely agree about the uncomfortable seating in the Solarium on S-class ships!

And the T-pool on the M-class ships is wonderful.

I agree completely, also 1000 fewer passengers.

  12. I am a Diamond level on RCCL, we are planning a Celebrity Cruise and was wondering if we can use our Diamond level for perks on Celebrity, also do we get cruise points to add to our account on RCCL if we are on a Celebrity Cruise.

    Thank You

Contact Celebrity and give them your Crown & Anchor Number. You will get Elite perks on your Celebrity cruise. The points you earn on Celebrity are only for Celebrity.

    Enjoy your 1st Celebrity cruise.

  13. A no brainer. Happens all the time.

Go check now and then at your original cabin. If your luggage is there, take it to your new cabin. :D

Exactly!!! That's what we had to do when we got a surprise upgrade. Unfortunately, the "upgrade" was to a smaller cabin in a noisier location. I tried to get our original cabin back, but failed. It is in the "Passenger Agreement" that Celebrity can change cabins on you. I did get a big OBC though.

  14. I think a TA has made a mistake with their Maths:

11 th April -21 st April = 10 days, yet they are advertising the cruise which leaves Miami on 12th April (flight leaves UK 11th, cruise leaves 12th) as a 16 night Southern Caribbean!!!

It can only be 9 nights and as Andy mentioned earlier ( post #140) that is possibly scheduled for dry dock.

Hi Jackie and Adrian - There was another thread about Europe 2015 where I found a post that said that the Eclipse was going into a 9 Night Dry Dock. The math works there.

The Transatlantic would sail Apr 21. If it is a 16 night, it arrives Southampton on May 7.

The 7 night Norway cruise sails May 9.

What about the 2 nights of May 7 and 8?

    Charlie

  15. OK the big news is no dry dock in Europe for eclipse.

The east TA is 16 nights from miami on 21st April

    calling at

    Kings Wharf (overnight)

    Azores

    Lisbon

    bilboa

    Le Havre

    Southampton

Then the Norway trip we all know about followed by a a 14 night canaries on the 16th May and the baltic run we all know about on the 30th

I'm on the case for the other requested

Hi Stuart - Thank you very much for the Eclipse info. Here is what I can compile from the posts:

APR 12 - End Caribbean season, begin 9 night Dry Dock

    APR 21 - 16 Night Transatlantic

MAY 7 - Arrive Southampton...What is it doing for 2 Nights ? Travel Industry Familiarization 2 night cruise?

    MAY 9 - 7 Night Norway

    MAY 16 - 14 Night Canary Islands

    MAY 30 - Baltic

    Charlie

  16. All the transatlantic trips are up on one of the UK sites. If you let me have a ship I'll look it up for you.

However the eclipse will do new York again sailing from Southampton on 1st November. Same ports as this year but only one day in NY and an additional stop in Boston

All the dates appear to be about a week earlier then this November

I am still interested in the Eclipse Eastbound Transatlantic and the cruises following until the May 30 Scandinavia/Russia. Many thanks!

    Charlie

  17. On the Eclipse itinerary the first cruise has been missed off as she does a 7 night Norway cruise on 9th May 2015 then there is a gap until 30th May, since the Eclipse will be five years old it may be a dry dock or charter :) the 9th May is a late start though so the dry dock could be before or after the transatlantic

Thanks, Debbie - I saw another thread which said that the Eclipse is going into Dry Dock for 9 days beginning April 12. So there are 18 days between Dry Dock and the Norway cruise for the Transatlantic portion. Then there are 14 days until the May 30 cruise.

    Looking forward to learning more.

    Charlie

  18. Cruise Junky posted the Europe sailings, but we are interested in a Transatlantic b2b2b British Isles, then Iceland/Norwegian Fjords similar to 2014.

Looks like the Eclipse would depart Miami on April 12 for its Transatlantic.

Then what will she be doing?

Thanks to all for your help.

    Charlie
