Thank you - this is very helpful.  I guess we will play it by ear - I think he would be happier with the 6 and 7 year olds, (because that is who he spends time with at home), than 2 and 3 year old kids, but I certainly will abide with whatever the staff decides.

I'll also add that the 6-8yo & the 9-11 groups were together 95% of the time this past week

I have a 5 1/2 year old, so in what group will they put him?  He is just a little too old and big to be with the little kids.  Not asking about bending the rules - just wondering what happens when they are right in the middle of an age group.

We just got off pride today, there were some kids that were close to 6 (but still 5) and were moved up to the 6-8 group. I was told in no uncertain terms that a 12yo could not be moved down to the 9-11 group however.

Agree. We used to go down immediately on first call and always got stuck up against the bulkhead, in the heat for like 25-30 minutes with 3-4 rows of people in front of us. So we go a little after the first call but like you, nowhere near "late."

I've often wondered: what if the crew had the people that arrived early/on-time be in the front line and then fill up behind them with the others as they arrive? 😁

They did that on the Legend the last time I cruised and it was great

  4. We did it on the Legend, and it was amazing. It was SO much food, we couldn't finish it, we were stuffed. And such a great experience. I would love to do it again, but we're bringing our little kids on our next cruise and they aren't ready for that yet. You won't regret it!

    Also, congrats! 😍

Question - if one of the port is cancelled, does the ship refund for missing a port or no?  I heard from some that they do if guests inquire about it at the information desk.

    This answer is maybe.

They've been refunding port fees for Freeport, but nothing else that I've seen (nor am I saying they need to provide anything beyond that). They were offering that guests could donate those fees back to a Freeport fund also.

  6. We enjoyed both when we went. We used a local company Viv tours to do a cave tubing trip in Belize and it was phenomenal! Even booking it with carnival would probably be amazing! We never felt unsafe there.

In Roatan, we just did a beach day. We brought our own snorkeling gear and enjoyed the beach area that's just off from where the ship docked. It was really lovely.

How much of an alcoholic do you have to be to get one of these ridiculous things? A bra that holds wine? It's sad, really.

I've been tempted to try it, mostly just to put cold water in to keep the tatas cool on a hot summer day 😂

Thank you!  DH was on the maiden voyage of Jubilee, he said he remembers balloons being released from the back of the ship:-) Unfortunately, he can't find any pictures so he can't get credit for it.

The maiden voyage of the jubilee was 6 July 1986

Unless it's changed,, not on Carnival. You get red or White. Now my experience was a couple of years ago on Carnival.

On Royal, you are correct. Each course is paired with a different wine from different vineyards. Could be a Chateau, could be a Reisling, could be a Merlot, et. al.

It was on Carnival when we did our, a few years ago. I don't remember the specific wines now, but they were great and all different. And it was amazing, worth every penny, even though I was sick that day (got food poisoning from pork in MDR the night before.)

Ah I’m glad I read this as I didn’t know it was fcfs on time for check in. If you have fttf do you need to check in early? I’m usually snoring at midnight lol

No, if you have fttf you don't need to check in early and if you do,you can choose a later arrival time and then ignore that and arrive when you want since you get priority boarding.

  12. In some countries, some of the medication to treat ADHD or even OTC meds that contain things like pseudoephedrine are illegal. (so while it would be ok for you to bring on the cruise, they are still illegal in some places) Customs has books to be able to id medications that aren't in their original bottles, but it can bog down the process. They don't want to make it take longer either.

It's ok if you choose to bring the pill organizer, but understand that it may make things take longer if you are chosen for an inspection. If you choose to go that route, bring a copy of the original RX and a photo of the bottles - to make things easier for customs and if something happens that someone needed to know exact dosage of everything you're taking.
