I am sorry to be asking a question about a topic that has been covered here in the past. I will admit that my search skills on Cruise Critic are poor and I didn't pay careful attention to the past discussions since we never had future cruise vouchers until now. When the voucher states that it can be used on a NEW cruise, does that exclude future cruises that were already booked but not paid in full? My reading skills lead me to believe that is the case, but my wishful thinking hopes otherwise.

The vouchers are modest amounts that Viking awarded for a trip interruption not under their control, so we were happy to receive them at all. However, the cruise must be booked (not taken) by 4/27/2023. We already have two cruises booked for 2023. When does Viking typically post additional cruises for 2024?

    Thanks for any advice.

You should' be able to book the cruise by your deadline, but the actual cruise can be in 2024. We just did that this weekend, so our booking date is 1-2-23 for departure on 4-13-24.

Frankly, I see this as a tactic to force new money out of you for a whole new cruise.

  2. We booked the cruise Viking had  around Spain /Portugal and into London for 2022 that we had to cancel for Covid    We were rewarded vouchers good for one year.  With those, we booked  Secrets of SE Asia  for March 2023. Now the rub.  When Omicron was predicted to last through at least spring of 2023 we  cancelled that one too,  assuming the vouchers could be transferred to our next cruise.  Not so! I'm out $4000 because Viking said so.  So mad I could  strangle the entire exec team.  We cancelled in time to avoid those penalties, but lost the vouchers even though intent was not a cash refund, but to be used on the next non-Covid cruise.  Viking would lose nothing if they accommodated us.  Instead,  they may have earned my bad juju and lose my future cruise revenue entirely.  Why?   Dumb!  It makes them just one more trashy cruise line.  Ideas for a successful argument to change their minds?    Thanks!

  3. Taking Viking's "Secrets of SE Asia" cruise in March 2023 but am very curious about the flight itineraries arriving Benoa and departing Singapore, esp. number of connections and flight times.  I'll be departing from Salt Lake City and assume main portion of flight will originate from LAX or SEA.  Any others?  Have heard recently too that one of the reasons Malaysia 370 was never found was because the batteries were dead in the ping box.  Based on that info, what airline(s) would you avoid flying that region of the world?

    Thanks in advance, everyone!

  4. Paul hi; I stumbled on your YouTube post and followed it here. A couple of questions if I may:

    - I think the Reflection just went through a refurb earlier this year. Not knowing if you've been on the Reflection before, I'm curious to know whether you noticed anything really different or if the ship just felt "rejuvenated"?

    - Lightly curious to know if you've experienced any kind of homophobia on Celebrity? I assume you have not; it seems like a very welcoming company. I ask only because I've experienced some passive-aggressive behaviour on my Carnival cruises, ultimately deciding the "air" was just a little too stuffy when it comes to PDAs with my husband. :)

    - Did you spend any time in Rome post-cruise? We're flying into Leonardo da Vinci about 30 hours before departure, but the logistics of seeing any of Rome while trying to stay in Citavecchia seem daunting. Any insights based on your experience?

I've quite enjoyed watching and reading your blogs... thank you!

I’ll start this cruise recap with something a friend... a
