Thank you so much! I just want to be sure I understand...
If I book solo - I understand I pay double occupancy and MY fees etc. If I need to add someone later (say, 2 weeks before sailing) they just pay their fees?
I thought they'd reevaluate what the cabin was going for at that point in time and that person would need to pay the difference plus their fees...
If this is the case, there's no reason to book TBA, right?
I just want to have the option to add someone if I want...
Thanks again

Quick question - does anyone know how long you have to determine who your travelmate will be? I want to book TBA but wanted to know how long I have to figure out who (if anyone!) I want going with me.
Thanks in advance!

Dec on the Breeze, did not receive in the cabin when I got the water. Went to Guest Services, they said they were completely out of them. A couple of days later, one was in my cabin.

Is Cucina del Capitano for lunch an extra cost or is it only an extra cost for dinner?
Free at lunch, costs for dinner

Look at a floor plan online. The main dining room will be on a different deck from the buffet. The buffet will be on the lido deck.

They do offer a soda package, bottomless bubbles ( dont know cost, but if you go to your cruise manager online, it will show you). Ice cream from the machines are free in the lido. They have a shop that will also sell ice cream (not soft serve).
Lido buffet is free, as is the main dining room. There will be lots of little stations around the lido, they will be free as well (example: the pizza place and Deli). The Fun Times will list all of the places to eat and should notate if it's an upcharge.

Basically for the past eleven years things have been pretty clean on the Carnival ships I have sailed.
However, on the last cruise things were not as clean as in the past.
I had noticed a brown spot on the wall in the bathroom and thought it must be a stain until one day when I picked up a wash cloth and wiped it off.
DH says men don't notice what I notice. He paid the steward extra to clean the balcony.
I think it is due to the stewards having more cabins to clean.
This was on Triumph and was my third cruise on Triumph over ther years.
While old does not bother me, dirty does.
I'm an antique dealer amd I know the difference between dirt and patina. :)
I was on the Triumph about 18 months ago (2nd time on Triumph) and had a similar experience. I washed the shower and bathroom walls because they had brown streaks (I also thought it was stained until I wiped it with a clorox wipe). It was dirty, plain and simple. The walls in the cabin also looked as if they needed a good washing.
I wrote it off as a bad experience, I've cruised 3 other times with Carnival and am going again in September.

In my experience, there is soy milk available, but no non-dairy cheese option.
I found several things contained milk, cream or cheese, so that limited my choices (especially because I am also vegetarian) but the MDR staff are very helpful if you tell him of your issues.

Does anyone tip extra to the dining room staff on the last night?
I don't see that listed in any of the replies.

Had a similar situation, in our case, we were at the 75% penalty phase. I had her be a no show and paid her what they would have refunded her for cancelling. It was cheaper for me that way.

I used a trundle on Triumph, the fold in half kind - and I will say that I never wish to repeat it. It was very uncomfortable and yes, you could get around it during the night, it wasn't easy (we were also aged 45-70 so I imagine this would be different with teenagers...)

Brianna,
I haven't been on the boards much lately but popped on and saw a new review from you - I have always loved your reviews. My heart hurt so much when I read your first post. I'm so very sorry about the loss of your cruising-buddy-best-friend. Much love and prayers to you.
Then I got to the end and I saw you got a new job and moved!!! Congratulations.
Thanks for another wonderful review

Following up, post cruise in case anyone searches for this topic.
The Fun Times was not delivered as promised and took two visits to Guest Services to get them coming (and one day mid week they didn't print her one).
All of that said, the copies she got were fantastic! She absolutely loved being able to see everything going on. I took photos so you can see the size.

I had the exact opposite! I was on the Magic with you and actually was wondering where I could buy the mattresses!!
-
Got off the magic yesterday. It had been reported that they'd begin the new menus on our sailing (5/31). Nope.
I asked our waiter about it. Told him I'd read it was suppose to be this sailing and he said, "oh no, February". He lifted the table cloth and showed me that they'd changed the tables for it and shrugged and said, "but then they changed their minds".
I'm not sure the February was accurate, but he didn't act as if they'd been prepared for the roll out at all.

Thank you!

We used it for disembark, 2 out of 3 of my party needed assistance. We tipped $10 each because they made sure to keep us together and were so very helpful.

I had to track it down, I recently switched phones:

I sail May 31 (Magic). I got the call April 10. I was in an interior/obstructed view (4J). We had two cabins, 2 people in each.
We were offered balcony for $110pp ($220 per cabin). I asked what decks and if they could place us near one another. She found us cabins next door to each other and gave me cabin numbers. I got her number so I could call her back after I talked to the others.
I checked deck location, ran the numbers (the balcony was going for $400-500 more pp than what we had paid for our inside, so $110 was a good deal). I called her back and took the offer.
On another thread, someone had posted the number so I had programmed it into my phone so I knew it was the upset fairy.
On my first cruise, I had an interior and was offered balcony for $250 more pp. We declined.
