  1. I once left $450 in CASH on a table in my cabin. I forgot it was there and we went to dinner and a show. When we got back, the room was cleaned and ALL the money was there.

    Funny story

Last cruise my wife's shoes disappeared early in the cruise. She kept telling me they were stolen. I was not convinced. We searched the entire cabin but still no shoes. I still was not convinced someone would take shoes even if they were expensive. I kept saying, "There is a logical explanation." And I would hear back "Well where are the shoes......I took them off in the cabin and they are no longer here."

Long story short, a few days later when we were moving things in the closet, we found the shoes UNDER the suitcase in the closet. They were not lost or stolen after all.

    Both stories are great!

  2. It’s just the Dockyard and it’s a total waste of time and money- you can walk everywhere. Elsewhere in Bermuda they aren’t practical- distances are too far between things to make them useful.

Agree. We went on the “tour”a few years ago. We spent most of the time stopped for “photo ops”.

    It’s not worth the $

So I see I replied to this in March.

    I forget what I forgot. [emoji1354]

  3. It’s been a hectic couple of days with trying to fly standby home but I have a couple of minutes to do a quick recap.

Cruise went great!! I’ll go into great detail when I get home to my computer. It’s hard to type reviews on iPhones. Kids had a wonderful time and can not wait for their next one.

    Your kids are adorable. ❤️

  4. Does anyone remember the name of the main ingredient in the buffet vegan of the day dish? It was always near the Indian food I think. It was different every day and delicious. I think it was something like oumpah. Because I remember calling it oompah loompa.:confused: I had it in May on the Dawn and I honestly don't remember seeing it in all my years cruising and making up my vegan meals at the buffet. I want to buy some to make it at home.

  5. I'm new to cruising, but for our trips to Disney, I soak a sponge in water and dish soap ahead of time and dry it out. Then I cut the sponge into smaller sections. Not messy like dish soap can be, and as soon as I wet it in the sink, it's a perfect pre-made soapy dish cloth.

    That’s a good idea [emoji1303]

  6. It is our favorite too. There or the garage. We got there at 8:45 on May 4th and drove right in.

Signs everywhere. I’ve been watching the ship’s bow cam and this lot hasn’t been filling up. Even when they leave there’s still spots open. That might change.

When we returned to Boston we were some of the first passengers off and the lot still had many openings.

The satellite lot and shuttle sounds horrible. You probably have to sit there until the bus fills up.

  7. I love planning what I’ll wear on my cruise. I make lists also.

I pack less each time. This past cruise I picked my daily outfits [emoji10] ironed and rolled them up and stuffed them into ziplock gallon bags.

It made my suitcase so neat! It was a freedom.

But I still brought a couple unworn bags full home.

One thing I didn’t have enough of was WARM clothes. It’s freezing on the ship. Especially early May out of Boston. In and outside.

Really cold in Cellars. I wonder if it was a fluke that week.

  8. I do know that there is a note in MyNCL that says the following:

Due to an overwhelming response to the new Latitudes Rewards program, we are experiencing delays. Response time to your inquiry can take up to 2 weeks. Please do not resubmit your request. All inquiries will be addressed in the order they were received.

Maybe they could add: Your email is #9,237 in the order received. Thank you for your patience :)

  9. I definitely come here to get my fix. I’m so fortunate because this is my golden Wait time.

Our cruise is May 4. Boston to Bermuda. But the bad part is it’s almost over. Seriously.

I can’t believe how fast time is going by.

I watch the webcams. Port cams. Bow cams. Chat in various roll calls.

The passengers on this week’s cruise on the Dawn are enjoying their last night docked in Bermuda.

    Tomorrow they head back here.

So I should have been packed by now but I’m ready. And we’re using tiny suitcases this year!

We bring back so many clean clothes we didn’t wear. Screw that. Too heavy and we do the “convenient” walk off. [emoji10]

  10. Just went to Hortons Rum Cake website : :o

After 32 years of continuous sevice to the public, and following long and toughtful consideration, we have decided to turn off the ovens for the time being. We are in a period of significant transition in our lives and it is possible that we may return to service. For the time being though, we wish to advise that we will not begin the current season as anticipated.

We treasure the many important relationships established over our decades long history.

Is that the one inside the glassblowing building?

  11. I just made GOAL last week! I will be on an Alaskan cruise in May. I not only follow WW but I eat Whole Food Plant Based No Oil (WFPBNO) for my heart. I had a heart attack and stent placed last March 20th and made drastic changes because all my blood work 'numbers' were good two weeks prior to my heart attack. So 'normal healthy' range is not enough for me. I had 70% blockage in my LAD (the widow maker) and 55% in a branch of my circumflex that I hope clears due to my diet and lifestyle changes.

I plan to use the WW app and Dr. Greger's app (daily dozen) to keep on track on the cruise. No meat/eggs/dairy/cheese is easy for me but the no oil will be the challenge on the cruise. I use white balsamic vinegar for a salad dressing and I plan on bringing a bottle of it with me. I hope it doesn't get me sent to the naughty room!

I also plan to walk each day to keep my cardio up and get my steps in. If I gain' date=' I know it will come right back off! [/size']

    That’s great!

I’m going to check out that Dr Greger’s app.

  12. It was 14 months ago when I posted this... ☺

Hi, it's Cindy your balcony neighbor from last year.

This new parking has us confused. Did you tell us last year that you parked at the bow of the ship because they told you the garage was full? And did you say you arrived around 10:30. We arrived at 9:30 and there was a ton of parking open. So that's how fast it filled up.

I know the new open air lot is on Congress St now.

Next week is the first Boston to Bermuda. We're going to drive down and see where the new lot is. But we have full intention to park in the garage like we always do. Unless something changed since two weeks ago when we called, that's still an option.

Since this is relatively new, Congress St....I'm hoping it's all worked out nicely by May 4 when we go.

(Just in case we are not allowed in the garage.) We plan to get there around 9. It's still saying $20 per day on their website.

Parking is atrocious in Boston. Everywhere actually. I'm surprised they save a lot for cruise passengers to be honest. It would seem they'd rather build huge towering condos.

I don't want to deal with waiting for shuttles back to our car when we return to Boston. With our luggage. We like to walk across the street, get in and go. We're home in 20 minutes after we get off.

  13. Yup, we're in swimsuits, T-shirts, shorts all day, but dress smartly for dinner; we invariably eat in the specialty restaurants and are generally surrounded by people making a similar effort. After all, how often during a year do you get to take your wife/partner out for 'date-night' 7, 10, 11 nights in a row! My wife lives in riding breeches and a thin coating of horse-sh1t the other 51 weeks of the year and this is her chance to wear a nice dress and feel a little more special. She scrubs up delightfully, making me a very proud man as we walk to dinner or enjoy a cocktail.

It's kinda sad (to me) that so many in the world these days seem to put so much effort into "what's the least I can get away with" and "can I get away with ignoring this simple guideline"... When this is such a wonderful opportunity to make an effort, do something you don't do all the time and enjoy the results.

    Dress up, I'll notice!

    I enjoyed your reply.
