  1. Thanks for posting Andy, but I don't think there is one thing here that will enhance my cruising experience. Why would anyone want personalized images or photos on cappuccinos & lattes? You are going to drink it correct? Will this cost extra? What a waste of time and resources.

I am glad they are adding a program for people with food alergies but again this does not affect myself or anyone in my family.

You've got to wonder sometimes what these people are thinking. Spend your time and money on improving overall food and service and you won't need all these gimmicks.

I agree. How about improving the dining for us common folk who don't book Aqua class or suites and eat in the MDR and buffet?!

  2. This would not be walkable but certainly close. You can go to Somerset Long Bay. We took the number 7 bus from the dockyard and it was a 10 minute ride to Somerset (get off by the post office). There is Mangrove Bay right there but not much room to lay down and lots of boats in the water. Walk up Mangrove Bay road, them make a left on Tween Walls and that will take you near Somerset Long Bay. It is a 10-15 minute walk. The beach is calm and nice. We took a bus in the morning stayed for a couple of hours. Caught the number 8 back and we're back in the ship for lunch.

  3. Didn't save any of the activity pages, but there were a fair amount of things to do on at sea days. For early risers there were fitness classes in the gym. Usually there was a morning trivia at 10:15 and a dance class around 11. Music trivia was usually around 2:30 and there was afternoon trivia at 4. Lots of live music on the ship from mid afternoon through late in the evening. Typically, shows had both a 7pm and 9pm showing. Karaoke was later at night, like 11.

For kids and teens they have their own activities on deck 11, or could participate in anything else.

I felt like there was enough to do in addition to using the pools and sitting down with a good book now and again.

  4. I am just off the same cruise. On Friday night upstairs in the MDR, this one passenger was fuming. Was really angry at a waitress or sommelier. Said she called him a "stupid American" and he accused her of saying that the USA blew up its own planes on 9/11 and then he told one of the people in charge if they don't take care of the issue, he would.

Anyone else see this? What started the issue? I had seen the guy around the ship and he had seemed disgruntled at other points during the trip. Other diners were saying this waitress/sommelier was very good, so not sure what the true story is.

  5. I did take a couple of pics but you can't see the stores. There were many locals lined up with monkeys. You pretty much couldnt walk down the center of the shopping area. I had to hug the outskirts. There was a decent amount of shopping. Your usual jewelry stores and a pretty big Dufry. There were lots of t-shirt and souvenir stores. I don't think there was a Del Sol or Cariloha (the rest of the stops had them). There was a craft market set up, but I turned around when a large man was walking around with a monkey and I didn't feel comfortable since the market was in such a small space. There are a couple of bars/restaurants at the pier as well.

  6. It has been a week since we got back from a lovely week aboard the Carvinal Valor. The one bad thing that is really sticking with me are the monkeys in St. Kitts. We had never been to St. Kitts before so we asked someone what there was to do in St. Kitts. He wasted no time in warning us about the monkeys and I am eternally grateful. He told us the locals steal babies from pregnant female monkeys and then kill the mother after she gives birth. Then the locals put them in diapers and clothing and literally throw them on unsuspecting tourists, demanding money for any pictures taken with the monkeys.

I think this is inhumane and disgusting. I wore a collared shirt and buttoned it up all the way, god forbid a local out a monkey on me. After an hour checking out the pier shops, carefully peeking around all corners to steer clear of monkeys, we went back to the ship and stayed there.

I think the cruise lines should cease stopping in St. Kitts for the health of their passengers and crew.
