I successfully upgraded last week. The email I received provided telephone numbers in USA, UK, Australia and New Zealand as well as the option to reply by email.   I called the UK number which connected to a very helpful man in USA.

We did the same this week.  Replied to the email, and got a phone call within 15mins.  All sorted and the lady I spoke to was lovely and very helpful.  Very impressed as it's our first Azamara Cruise

We were on the Reflection a few years ago that had 2 groups of people.  As I recall the largest had a thousand or more people and spent their daytimes in seminars, etc.  They were some sort of positive-thinking group (I googled them when I got home and to me they were more of a cult).  The only time we noticed them was at lunchtime as they all headed to the buffet at almost the same time when their seminars broke off.  We very quickly learned to either schedule our lunches before or after theirs.  The other smaller group was some sort of investment club that often wore name tags.  Other than the lunch crowds they both mingled in with everyone else and you couldn’t tell who was who so we did not notice anything different.

I have a feeling your large group was similar to the one we had on Infinity a few years ago.  We found out they were due to be on our cruise in October on Reflection so we cancelled and changed to another ship.  Suffice it to say, once was MORE than enough.  Unlike you, we found certain bars and even the sky lounge 'out of bounds' at certain times, and it put the whole atmosphere of the ship totally 'out of kilter' for us.  Each to their own, but we'd never knowingly do it again.

Has anyone been able to get a MDR table that seats 11 on the Eclipse ?  Looking at getting a larger group together and would like to be all seated together.

    Thanks

We've had a party of 10 on Equinox, they don't seem to have many very large tables, and I believe this was the biggest.  The only 100% correct answer would be to ask Celebrity directly.  Good luck 🙂

  4. hi, thank you so much for all your replies.  Yes, I used to just go into the thread, and there was always a box where you could put the cabin number, and it brought up any replies.  Now when I go into the thread, it seems the only 'search' is the main one at the top RH side of the page, which doesn't seem to work for me.  I'll try your suggestions - again thank you for the prompt replies x

  5. Sorry if this seems a strange question, as I never used to have a problem searching for comments etc on a particular cabin number in the S class cabin info.  However, try as I may, I can't seem to find any easy way of putting in a cabin number and getting any results.  Am I being a bit thick and missing the obvious? Would any kind soul care to point me in the right direction please?  Thank you

  6. We've done this particular cruise twice with Celebrity, and 4 times in total.

Absolutely amazing, and would do it again in a heartbeat. On one of them, we were dining in Tuscan Grille, as we were sailing away from Geraingerfjord, and a couple of the waiters stopped by our table to look at the scenery. We said you must get used to this, doing Alaska etc. They both said the scenery was more stunning in the Fjords. Only their opinion of course, but it really is amazing.

  7. Thanks everyone, thats very helpful - as there are 3 of us, think we will take a taxi. Can you tell me if its easy to get a taxi back to the ship and where they leave from.

There are loads of taxis just before the place you get the shuttle back - you won't have any problem :-) xx

  8. We have just come home from Constellation, and the shuttle was $12/return per person. However, you can get a taxi for a fixed price of 13euro (each way), which is what we did, as there were four of us. Totally avoided the normal 'scrum' for the shuttle buses back to the ship. We are so glad we did, as there were 6 ships in port when we were there

  9. They have 3 restaurant concepts but only 2 locations on the M-class ships [on deck 3 and deck 11]. The French restaurants were in the space on deck 3, and Tuscan was on deck 11. During "Solsticization" they started replacing Tuscan with Qsine on deck 11 [infinity, Millie and Summit]. Recent dry-docks have replaced the French restaurants on deck 3 on Infinity [sS United States] and Summit [Normandie] with Tuscan. Millie has Olympic [French] and Qsine -- she's probably the next to go, in her dry-dock later this month. That leaves Connie which has Ocean Liners [French] and Tuscan -- but no Qsine. My guess is that they will move Tuscan down to deck 3 and turn its space on deck 11 into Qsine at Connie's dry-dock in April 2017. To me, Qsine was great the first time but is kind of a "one and done," whereas we have enjoyed Normandie/Murando multiple times on both of our Celebrity cruises and may do Ocean Liners next month [unless we find that Luminae is so good we don't need to pay extra -- having Kusadasi on our itinerary has done wonders for upgrades! :D]

I agree 100% about Qsine, once is nice, but don't really feel the need to go on every ship, every cruise, lol

We loved SS United States, and Murano, and loved the fact they were a little different to the norm. Tuscan Grille is great, but I think its a great shame to only have Qsine or Tuscan as your Speciality choices. Glad we are on Connie next month, well before the refit!

Oh, and I don't think you'll want to eat anywhere other than Luminae :-) we didn't!

  10. I would also recommend Ocean Liners because it may be your last chance to experience this. Celebrity is removing the French restaurant on M-class ships (Summit and Infinity so far, haven't seen anything about Connie and Millie) and putting the Tuscan Grille in that space. Each of the four M-class ships had a unique decor for this restaurant [on S-class it's called Murano and they are all the same]. It will be a shame to lose these lovely spaces, and also to lose this option on M-class.

I wonder how this will effect Connie as it already has Tuscan Grille?

  11. It does help a lot! Using that template, I put a hold on 6314 on Silhouette. I'm hoping that maybe somebody can confirm that that is one of the larger balconies??

I think I remember reading that there are two of the larger ones on each floor, would that be the two in the middle that are next to each other?

Yes it is Cathy, 6314 is the wider balcony on Silhouette. As far as I am aware, there is only one on each deck though :-)

  12. I do have a picture somewhere, but you need to be careful with the stateroom numbers, as not all the S class ships are numbered the same (hope that makes sense)

Basically, not counting the Sky Suites on the corner, from starboard side, you could the fourth balcony along, and you will see it has a white area next to the balcony door. These are the ones with the wider balcony. On Eclipse, for instance, its 6312 on deck 6, and on 7 & 8 its the ones directly above. These are SV category, but decks 9,10 & 11 are C1 grade (Concierge)

    Hope this helps

  13. just had an interesting conversation with one of my colleagues at work, who has just returned from this cruise at the weekend.

He has some horror stories of people being left in Rome (8), and told to fend for themselves overnight, and being collected the next day and transported, quite ungraciously, to the next port - Sorrento. Also of folk not getting their cases, and Guest Relations basically saying 'tough'.

What he's saying, and certainly the experiences I've had on Celebrity, sound just about a far apart as you can get!

Disembarkation, he said, was a shambles too. Basically 'you're off the ship, it's nothing to do with us anymore'. Waiting around for hours with no idea what was going on, before being taken to the airport for the flight home.

He said the staff on the ship, apart from Guest Relations, we absolutely brilliant, but airport/transport staff were a disgrace

Anyone know someone who's just come back?

  14. Unless there were no Aqua passengers at all in the queue behind you as a suite guest, then it does mean that suite guests have taken a place from an aqua passenger.

Exactly - and it's not just to do with the queue, surely its also about the number of suite guests already seated?

I think when Celebrity have gone to the trouble and expense to create an exclusive, special dining room for suite guests, that's what they should use. Like a previous poster, if I get flamed for saying that, I don't care either. Feeling that your own 'exclusive' dining room doest have the atmosphere or certain dishes you like, doesnt mean it should be OK to use another venue, and maybe take the place of someone who can't do the same.

FWIW, having eaten in Luminae, I don't think anyone could be disappointed. We thought it was fabulous.
