Does anyone have any suggestions for the Qantas flight from Dallas to Brisbane/Sydney. Are there seats to avoid in coach class? Am not looking forward to this flight, but was my only option. I am quite tall and have experienced metal boxes under the seat ahead of me on flights to Europe. Very uncomfortable. Spending 6 nights in Sydney before cruising from Sydney to San Francisco. At least I must fly only one way. Thanks for your ideas.

After sailing on 6 QV cruises and hearing passengers rave about the QM2, we decided to book a New York/Quebec return on the QM2. We had expected so much and were quite disappointed. The prior thread made excellent comparisons. The QM2 did take on a rough sea day more graciously, but that was our only memorable experience. The atmosphere is quite different and the passengers are long, long, long time QM cruisers on the QM. The QV is a lovely ship. Beautiful views from the entire ship. Our cabin was the same as the QM2 but the staff on the QV was much happier. I wonder if the back to back Trans Atlantic cruises with no port time makes the difference. The QV staff was so pleasant to the passengers as well as each other. Very noticeable difference. We much prefer the QV and have booked another long cruise on her in February. We are retired so are able to book back to back cruises on the QV, seeing many different ports on each cruise with one long flight. The QM2 is a grand ship but the Queen Victoria is by far our favorite. Interesting lectures on both ships. However, the theater on the QV is magnificent vs not being able to find a good seat in the QM2 theater. Our three back to back cruises in the Mediterranean were absolutely wonderful on the QV. We felt like we covered the entire Med. Happy Anniversary and happy sailing.
