We're doing NCL next summer 2024- we picked based on the itinerary.
-
At least there weren't fights? 😅 No one was arrested for drugs? I'm just hoping the basics are being enforced.
-
We're doing Le Havre on NCL in 2024 and plan to do the Paris excursion. We have never been to Paris and may not be back so this could be that once-in-a-lifetime trip and worth the really long commute. I have heard from countless others that if you know you'll be back, not to do that long of a trip for just a few hours in Paris...if that helps. Those people seem to be doing beaches of Normandy and I have heard Le Havre is perfectly charming as well.

For our May cruise out of Miami, we are booked for one night pre-cruise at the Intercontinental in Doral for $300 with their cruise package. That includes parking for up to 14 nights, free breakfast, drinks and snacks in the evening and a $25 Uber gift card to get to the port.
thanks to this post/thread, I just booked this package for our May cruise!

And the waiters with the small “thingie” to clean off the crumbs from the table before serving coffee and dessert.
I used to feel embarrassed when they did that as if I felt judged for how messy I was. 🤣
But it was still that extra touch.

The main dining room service isn't like it used to be. Not because the workers don't work hard- they do!! But there used to be more staff and meticulous details like scraping crumbs off between your entree and dessert. Before anyone jumps on that, I'm not saying I need crumb-scraping back, but it's just an example of how things used to be to now. It is more like a regular nicer restaurant now that you would find in most cities.

We gave up a few weeks ago and booked NCL. I figure that when you're going to Europe, it's more about getting the ports you want at a reasonable price and then if Carnival doesn't have anything to offer (yet)...oh-well! It's too bad, though- we knew we would get a better deal on Carnival. We just weren't willing to wait on such a big and expensive cruise.

Nothing is out on the Firenze. Nothing is out on the Venezia for summer 2024. Nothing is out for Europe summer 2024. What is up? It seems like the only thing posted is Alaska, Carribean, and Australia.
I have an FCC that has an expiration date of 08/03/24. My plan after learning this was to apply it to my Europe sailing for this year, but the FCC is double the price of that sailing (because I went from a suite to a balcony...cruise is booked up so can't go up to a better room) and the fine print also says that you can only use it on one booking and it can't be used towards OBC or port fees. When I look at the sailings available currently, there isn't much that warrants using it...at least not when the kids are out of school. I looked at the Greenland sailing, but frankly I don't really want to take a 2-week cruise with 8 sea days to spend two days in Greenland. Some of the unique Journeys cruises or Hawaii are also during the school year.
I got annoyed waiting and ended up booking on another line for Europe 2024. We wanted to book far ahead so we had plenty of time to pay it off and plan.

Our last Conquest trip was delayed several hours and ended up with a family taken off the ship and someone in handcuffs. We heard them calling names forever, but not sure if this is who they were looking for.

I've seen a few people say that NCL won't allow this- but I would call to confirm. Some lines do, but the bigger ones tend to not allow it.
-
Weird that you were asked about your vaccination status. We just boarded in Terminal F (same as Celebration) the other day and no one asked us anything.

I didn't see that it didn't include the adults only pool. I sure hope so, because that's one of our main draws.
-
Following along! We are on the sister ship, Celebration next spring break, 2023. Can't wait!

Yes, very annoying. I'm logged in but can't manage my bookings.

Just booked Carnival Cruise for May 1st and one port is Grand Turk. I was excited to go and book a Cabana, but I don't see the option available at all. It isn't sold out, it just isn't available.
Anyone know anything about this? Are they not open yet because of Covid or something?
Wondering the same thing. I don't even see it as "sold out" for our cruise in July.

I assumed on that class ship it would remain free. It's going to be a madhouse at dinner time if those places start charging.
There is already a significant wait time In the mdr as it is..
Maybe they'll flip dining rooms, assuming the other dining room is larger? I think more and more ships have been flipping so that the YTD is in the bigger dining room.
-
Following along! I loved the Magic- that's a well-designed class of ships. I agree with what you say about Carnival shows. They are a little cringe-worthy to me most of the time and I really am not expecting broadway or anything. We just go on occasion.

Oh, that is news to me! Darn, I was looking forward to the breakfast offerings.
-
I don't know if it always depends on your background. One of my kids' took a few weeks and the other got his in a few days. Neither has any kind of background for them to check- one was 18 and the other was 16. My husband and mine took a few weeks and we applied at the same time. Neither of us have complicated pasts. Especially me! LOL
Anyway, I think it mostly has to do with how backlogged they are at the time.
-
They were on the Carnival Conquest when we sailed in February. They always took a little while (5-10 minutes depending on how busy they were), but they brought them to us once they made them.

Just got off the Sunrise last week and YTD was in the aft dining room.
Haha, figures!! Thank you so much- switched to YTD.

Usually, DH and I like YTD for the flexibility and the ability to sit just 2 people (or however many people we're with). But we *love* the aft dining room for brunch and breakfast and we never seem to get that one with YTD. Is it the same with Carnival Sunrise? We were thinking of doing fixed early dining in the hopes of getting that stellar ocean view that we get in the aft, but I can't seem to find assurance anywhere on the internet that that is what we would get.

We were just on the Conquest. We used to love the Steakhouse when DH and I were omnivores, but now that we are both vegetarian, we weren't sure if it would be worth it. DH inquired the first night if there were many options for vegetarian and they said if we came back the last night (of a 3 day cruise), the chef *might* be able to come up with something for us. We decided it probably wasn't worth shelling out $35 each for that kind of response, so we decided not to bother. I'm not complaining- it's a steakhouse after all- but it would be nice to have more fine dining options for vegetarians....we're willing to pay for a nice experience and good food.

We're booked in a balcony on the Lido deck on our Magic cruise that sets sail a week from today! Glad to be hearing such positive feedback about these cabins!

I think they release whole months at a time, just one calendar month ahead. For example, I believe on June 1st, July dates will be released. We are waiting for July dates to be released and I have June 1st on my calendar.
