  1. Hi - We are/were on the Reflection on the 13th April.

After reading earlier this evening that Gran Cayman was banning cruise ships for 60 days from Monday, I realised we would not be stopping there even if the cruise goes ahead, I went in to my planner and cancelled our shore excursions for there.

Then read on here above that our cruise is on the list of cancelled cruises, so went in and cancelled off everything else in our planner which we'd booked months ago.

Then checked later on and find its now gone off the list?

So is it cancelled or not?

Very annoying as all the trips have all gone up in price now too !

Its all so frustrating - I doubt we are going but I really want to know for sure.

To anybody who has this cruise booked from our experience this week ok the weather may have been a little disappointing but we’ve had and are still enjoying a good cruise please don’t cancel we are sure you will enjoy it.

We definitely given the opportunity another year will be coming back.

In fact we have three days land based in our return but wish we’d booked a back to back it certainly would have been no more expensive.

Still I’m sure we’ll enjoy our three days at the end.

Look forward to reading other folks thoughts and experiences of the cruise in the coming weeks.

Norwich Cruiser can you not enquire about a B2B2B and stay on till we're there, the week commencing the 12th?!

You sound like a very funny person and I think we'd get along with similar sense of humour!

I’ll try and report more tomorrow I should really get to bed we are three hours ahead were four but lost an hour somewhere.

Probably left it in the diamond lounge.

Think I may have to pop out and put my towels on the chairs in the diamond lounge before I get to bed ready for tomorrow evening just to be sure.

    😅😀🤣😉🤪🤩😎

    Love this!

Can you pop a towel on now for me, somewhere near the pool/bar will do!

We fly a week Friday to cruise out on the 20th - not yet heard anything from Royal re any changes or cancellations.

  4. They are well over priced - to replace one nail - it's about $20 with the tip added! Yes that's for one single nail to be replaced!

I got caught many years ago on one of our first cruises when I broke a nail and paid $15 plus tip to get it redone (and it wasn't done well either)

Since then I always get my nails done just before we go and I always carry a repair kit with me and some glue to re stick if they lift to get me to the end.

    • Thanks 1
  5. As the others had advised the MDR is split in to four dining area - you will be allocated one for your evening meals - CHIC, Silk, Grande and American Icon.

They are included in your cruise fare, as is the WindJammer Café (main buffet restaurant) , Sorrento's (Pizza) and Seaplex dog house (hot dogs), Café@TWO70 , Promenade Cafe (coffees & sandwiches, small cakes & pastries) and Solarium bistro.

There are other venues which are for a fee.

Wonderland (its fab -we loved it),

    Chops grill ,

    Jamie's Italian,

    Izumi (Sushi) ,

Chefs Table (a bit more expensive but very nice dining experience),

Johnny Rockets (burgers and chips - yum milkshakes! * They also do a breakfast which is free) .

Costal Kitchen is only for those guests in Suites and its their private dining area.

  6. Just popped by to say a HUGE thank you to the OP!

We have our first CP Balcony booked for the Symphony in October and I did not know we get a free bottle of wine and lunch in one of the CP restaurants. Now I do, Bonus!

I do have one question, although I am aware the ship has yet to actually sail so no one may yet know but....

I've clicked the link on my reservation that states complimentary lunch in Giovanni's, Jamie's Italian, Sabor or Johnny Rockets.

There is no Giovanni's or Sabor on Symphony?

Do you think they will include lunch in Hooked Seafood and add another option or will we just get to pick from Jamie's and JR?

  7. Righto, I too cannot access my cruise planner on either my tablet or laptop.

I have had to do the new log in thing, added C&A number, added the cruise booking ref etc...it gave you no other option.

Both cruises show in ‘cruises’ but only the upcoming one shows in the Dashboard. When I click ‘access the cruise planner’ it looks like it’s going to do something and then just shows the same page again.

Any ideas, or shall I just go off to a corner and rock slowly until Royal sort out their ‘new and updated website.

Luckily Celebrity website, still works as we’re on that one in 3 weeks time!

  8. It's on our online planner, when I log in, it says at the top in a blue bar ' Good News! You are eligible for Beverage Packages Upgrades.' and has link at the end of the bar to see upgrades and takes you to the beverage page where you can buy it.

I've just checked it again and its still there on offer as my husband has the Classic but can also upgrade to the Premium for £8.50 per day if he wanted to (but he won't be)

  9. There was an offer on the other week so I upgraded online from Classic to Premium.

We are on a 14 night cruise.

Original cost to upgrade was £127.20 but with the deal the cost was £118.94 which is £8.50 per day which I thought was a good deal and cheaper than I can get on board (and cheaper than $11.80 per day, at current exchange rate)

But reading this I'm not sure if I could get a better deal if I wait till I'm on board if they are offering an Elite discount or more days for less?

My thinking is unless the exchange rate goes back up in the next 6 weeks to over $1.40 I think this was still the better deal?

  10. We are sailing in just over 6 weeks (1st April) and finally the prices appears online on a link for treatments available on board with pricing for the Spa. I am just trying to see if there is a benefit (ie cheaper) to pre book before hand or if no difference in pricing and wait till I get on board.

The treatments I'm interested in are, Sole Rejuvenation and the Awakening or Aromatherapy massages(50 mins) but if you have a full current list on a link or photo, that'll be appreciated.:)

  11. Have you booked standard seats (Economy) or a higher grade Premium Economy/World Traveller plus etc?

When we have upgraded our choice of seat from economy, when flight booked as a package with Celebrity we have had to pay for the flights there and then to secure them.

If not then we pay as normal on final payment date - we have a Reflection cruise with flights booked for Jan 2019 and have not had to pay for flights yet.

  12. If you have booked dining times pre cruise via your planner and want to cancel or change your time you can do this via the planner again by choosing the day/date and clicking edit.

If you haven't or don't want to reserve you can just go along when you want to during the MDR opening hours and you will be seated.

There may be a short wait the same as if you turned up at a restaurant at home without a reservation. At time they do hand out pagers which will buzz to let you know when your table is ready.

There is usually two lines for those who have reservation and those who have not.

The busiest times are usually between 7-8pm as most people want to eat then and I'd also avoid the set dining times as it tends to be quite busy as they are all coming in then.

You can also request a table size, if you want a table for 2 tell them this, even if they say they have none advise you will wait.

We prefer a two top as we don't like to drag out dinner so always ask for and get a table for two. Can eat and leave at our own speed.

  13. A friend has pointed this post out to me.

    Gutted is an understatement.

I love the glass shows and can say I have been to nearly every one single one on every cruise on an S class we have done that has the show, sometimes twice a day.

It is unique and interesting, with great talent from the blowers.

We were looking at an Equinox cruise in 2019 but already looking elsewhere as the show as it is, will be gone.

We have Eclipse booked in April, booked two years ago and I was already planning to see all the shows again.

So far there is nothing to state when whatever’s is happening it being done but will be very unhappy if it is gone by the time we sail.

When people say they don’t seen the attraction, each to their own but I could say the same about the casino, holds no interest to us but a money spinner for Celebrity.

I have no idea how people sit for hours wasting money in a machine.

And to those that say you never see the finished project, you do, every day. It may be you have to wait till the next day but every piece made it put out for you to see and you can just go and wander past.

We are lucky enough to own three pieces from the auctions and I looked forward to adding to my collection but it seems that may not be the case anymore.

Sounds like I’m going to be very disappointed and as I told my friend, getting rid will cost Celebrity more as if I’m not sitting watching the glass show for 2-4 hours daily, I’ll be at the bar making full use of my ‘free’ drinks package now and for what we paid two years ago when we booked it was a steal!

I hope Celebrity is listening but I doubt it very much!

  14. It is one drink per card, if you order two at the same time and only present one card you will be charged for one of the drinks. You will need to take both cards with you to the bar each time and present to get your drinks.

In our experience you do not both have to be there to get the drinks, I have got one for my husband when he was in the room or by the pool.

  15. The voucher in the 'booklet' is for 20% discount off the cost of a treatment.

It has to be a full priced treatment, it cannot be used on anything already discounted or on offer.

I look at it as I pay for the treatment and the voucher covers the auto added 20% 'tip'

I wish we got 50% off!

One you get to D+ you get the voucher and also get below but they cannot be used together!

Spa Treatment - Book a Signature Spa Service while the ship is in port and receive a complimentary add on treatment from the following list.....Frangipani Scalp Massage, Relaxing Hand Massage or Sole Delight Foot Massage.

  16. We were in Aqua on our recent Solstice cruise - we had the white & mesh/net drawstring backpack in the cabin on arrival & we also got the blue fabric over shoulder bag in the cabin a day or two later.

In the past we have also got a sturdier blue zipped shoulder bag in carry case in Aqua but I cannot remember if we did this time or not.

We got water on day one - we did seem to get water each day but not sure if this is because its now back or because our attendant knew we had a drinks package.

  17. We got off her just over a week ago.

Did not notice anything old or outdated on her, she still looked fresh, clean and tidy.

We had an Aqua cabin and it was not showing any major signs of wear and tear, staff were great too and they opened a new Tiffany store on board on our second to last day! Right by the World Class bar.

I may have made a small purchase ;)[/quote] Ooooh Tiffany's. How was the range they had onboard? And how were the prices compared to land base stores? Thanks in advance :)

I bought some infinity earrings as I have everything else in this set so now I have a complete one!

They were approx £25 cheaper than I can buy them in the UK and much cheaper than the Tiffany store in Vancouver in CAD.

They had quite a good range of choices and there's definitely some new bits I've now got my eye on! Better than another watch or handbag shop!

  18. We were on the Solstice a couple of weeks ago in Aqua and we also had a classic drinks package. Our cabin attendant was great and knew this so we got two bottles of water daily in our cabin.

Not sure if this was a one off but its good news to hear water is coming back as it was so handy to grab and go without having to trek somewhere .

However most stops there was someone down by the disembarkation point where you could pick up water as you got off.
