  1. Has cruise critic changed the way to access roll calls? I cannot believe that for the May 29th Silhouette sailing there has not been one new post or one new passengers signing on in 3 weeks since all the inside and outside cabins have been sold out for a month. Has the format changed?

  2. Because of the covid 19 concerns we decided to use this new service option from Celebrity. We were booked on Celebrity's Millenium Best of Japan 9/27/20. We contacted our travel agent expressed a desire to change the date of the cruise to 9/26/21. We thought we  would get a corrected invoice showing the original price of the cruise plus the new port charges and taxes of $139.92 per person.  Instead Celebrity agreed to honor the old price for the new cruise but wants us to pay the new port charges and taxes plus the old port charges and taxes for a cruise we are no longer taking. I think this may be unlawful? We are both elite with Celebrity. I tried phoning them at least a one hour wait so I used the chat with someone now explained the situation he could not help suggested I call the corporate office in Miami 305-539-6000. Still waiting to hear from them. I am dart43@hotmail.com

  3. I know quite well the statistics with regard to 9387 men and women buried in the American Cemetary of which markers for 149 are Stars of David. This was not the initial site where those who had lost their lives were buried and when disinterred they could if the family wished to have them repatriated to the US. Any ground a soldier fought and died for is Sacred religion is a non entity nor should it be. For your edification there is also a memorial for those 1557 men whos remains were never identified.

  4. When offered an opportunity for a Rouen Countryside and Farm visit I was told by a Viking agent I would have a choice of morning or afternoon. I chose morning so we could do the walking tour which was included at no charge in the afternoon. Upon receiving our documents it shows both tours are in the afternoon. Is there sufficient time when returning from the farm tour to venture on our own to do a walking tour of Rouen? In addition your cruise documents brochure on page 25 with regard to the Normandy Beaches Tour US mentions we can when in the cemetery "walk among its many white crosses" Why is there no mention of the Stars of David which there are fewer of but a sizable percentage of Vikings passengers are Jewish.

  5. What a wonderfully thoughtful gesture for Viking to offer this afternoon excursion to visit Domaine Duclos Fougeray farm and sample its wares for just $89 per person. If one ventures to the website of the farm it is open for visitors during the week from 2 PM to 6 PM for touring and sampling for free. Cognizant of the fact that one needs transportation to get to farm there should be a nominal charge but for $89 per person one should be conveyed in a modern version of the Montgolfier Brothers Hot Air Balloons.

  6. I hate to be correct when its costing me money but I was correct in concluding that Viking was having trouble filling up its summer European River Cruises. The category f on July 8th Paris to Normandy is still quoted at $2656 the e is $100 dollars more. Is now being offered at $2172 for the f and 2272 for the category e. The early bird airfare from Miami when booking early, to save money, was $695 it is now $400. This will be our 2nd river cruise with Viking hopefully we will take river cruises in the future but not with this cruise line.

  7. We booked Paris and the heart of Normandy using their early booking discount for July of 2016. The airfare shown on their website from Miami was $1695 with a special price of booking early of $695. The website today is still showing a fare of $1695 when round trip non stops are just over $1,000 dollars on Air France or American and for those booking in December a special airfare not of $695 but $400 without utilizing their select air department. We were not advised of the lower airfare before final payment was due in mid December. My tickets with American Airlines even though we have paid in full will not be issued by Viking until 3 weeks before departure which means they could and should easily adjust our fares and credit back the difference.
