  1. Thank you to everyone who replied. Yes miscommunication/misinformation. Jimmy buffet has changed from complimentary to a la carte. A la carte items have been added to complimentary menus. Specialty restaurants once flat fee have been changed to a la carte. Sorry to anyone who thought I was starting rumours, not my intention.

Thank you Teseo, we are all very excited for the cruise and wedding!

  2. Hello fellow cruisers,

I booked my wedding cruise back in February 2015 on Escape for April 2016, it's now time to make final payment and I've just been informed all the complimentary restaurants have been changed to a la carte. When did this happen? NCL did not inform myself or any of my guests. When I asked my cruise consultant she stated the new CEO is making these changes. Am I wrong to think a letter/email should have been issued to inform the cruisers of this huge change. I'm very upset and my wedding is already booked and my guest have already purchased flights and accommodations. Has anyone else experienced this? Did NCL accommodate you for the change? Any information, suggestions or comments would be appreciated.

    Thank you,

  3. Hello Brides!

Norwegian Escape is now booking weddings! Royal Oceans events emailed me yesterday saying I can finally book my wedding for Escape April 16 2016. We booked our cruise back in January but up until now could not book the wedding due to the fact that the boat was new and the events department didn't have an information.

So lovely brides, if you put your name on the wait list for an Escape wedding you should be contacted soon to start the booking process.

    :)

  4. we are greatly considering booking our wedding on Norweigian Escape, which is their new ship setting sail for the first time this November. I was wondering how the flowers were? I wasn't sure if they put out flowers at the ceremony or the reception. Like are there centerpieces on the tables and what not? Overall what did you think about the whole process. Was it stressful? How was it planning the wedding entirely over the phone and email? And how was it the day of the wedding? Were the wedding coordinators very helpful? are there any negatives the whole process? i apologize for all the questions but you guys booked on a very similar ship and just wanted to know how everything went, even the negatives, if there were any. Thank you very much in advance for any help that you can provide. You can email me directly with answers, we would greatly appreciate it.

I'm getting married on Escape April 2016. I contacted the wedding department back in january and was put on a wait list until the ship sets sail for the first time in October. If you could post about your experince with booking that would be great!

    Congratulations!!

  5. Wow congrats!

Looking at the Dec 12 sailing and they don't have a Spa Balcony anymore :(

Currently booked on the Getaway December 13-20. Just upgraded from Spa Balcony to Spa Mini suite last Saturday....

Does anyone know how much will the Spa pass be on the Escape? Thinking of just getting a Spa pass and booking a BX.

    Thanks!

    Hey,

I spoke to ncl rep last week regarding the same thing. She gave me a price but its based on breakaway because spa prices for escape are not available yet. $200USD for a week pass and $45USD for daily pass. I booked a spa balcony it was cheaper then purchasing a regular balcony and the spa pass separate for myself and fiancé.

  6. The main difference will be in the dining options. There is no set dining time or assigned seating. There are (at least) two complementary dining rooms that you can go to at any time they are open to eat (breakfast, lunch and dinner hours). Seating is like at a land restaurant, you walk up and they seat you. We had a group of ten and rarely waited more than a few minutes to be seated. You can, but are not required to, make a reservation for your group at one of the main dining rooms if you need more structure to keep the family members in line!

There are no forced formal nights, so you can eat in the main dining rooms every night of the cruise in your "resort casual" dress (officially there's a rule against shorts, tank tops, flip flops, etc. in the main dining rooms).

The specialty restaurants cost extra, from $15 to $30 per person. Everyone has their favorites, and most would list Cagneys (the steakhouse) in that category, but I think at $30 it is overpriced (it is like a fancy version of Outback Steakhouse in terms of food quality). But the Italian, Brazilian steakhouse, and others win praise from people too (I like the Brazilian specialty restaurant, as they keep coming around with lamb, filet, shrimp, etc.)

The buffets on the newer ships are very nice; we haven't been on the sister ships to the Escape (the Getaway and Breakaway) but were on the immediate predecessor in terms of launch date, the Epic, and found the buffet the best we had experienced.

    Thanks for the info!

On Royal one of the formal nights they serve lobster. Does Norwegian serve lobster in the main dining room during the week at all?

    Thanks again this is helpful!

  7. Hi all,

I booked my cruise and sent save the dates to 45 family members and friends for a wedding aboard Norwegian Escape April 2016. Escape is a new ship so very little information is available and they are not accepting wedding bookings until the ship sails in October 2015. I would like to have a symbolic ceremony at sea with all my guests, hire a photographer for an hour and a dinner at one of the speciality restaurants to follow.

Anyone else booked for a wedding on a Norwegian ship?

Congrats to all the brides of 2016!

  8. Hi,

I've cruised before but never with Norwegian. I recently booked my first Norwegian cruise on Escape April 2016. I will be getting married @ sea with a small group of family members to witness. I would like to know all the "need to know" things about Norwegian and their ships. (Dress code, best places to eat, activities that I must do/try, shuttle services, hotels, excursions etc..

    Any info is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

  9. Hello Purpletequila,

I'm currently in the middle of booking my wedding on the escape. I just asked the personal cruise consultant I'm working with the same question. Yes non spa stateroom guest can use the thermal suite at a week rate of $199/person or $45/person/day. Please note the pricing for the spa on escape are not out yet so the above prices are based on the norwegian breakaway.

  10. Hi All,

I'm newly engaged and planning an island wedding. I've been researching eastern itineraries all day and I finally came across Norwegian Escape April 16 2016.

Now that I finally found a cruise to celebrate on I need to pick an island to have beautiful beach ceremony. (I will be legally married in my home town prior to sailing)

I'm thinking Day 5 when the ship is in Tortola from 8am to 4pm.

Anyone who has been to the island and may have suggestions or opinions on beaches, places to take pictures, traveling on the island etc… I would really appreciate your input.

    Looking forward to chatting.;)
