  1. My husband and I were there at the end of February and it was still $25 for 2 chairs, umbrella, 4 beers, wi-fi (had to be closer to the hotel to use) and restrooms. Not sure where the 3rd person would sit since the chairs and umbrellas are tightly lined near water.

  2. We just returned from a cruise on the Allure and our main dining table was on deck 4.  The casino is on the same deck, near the dining room.  We are not smokers and the cigarette smoke/smell in the front of the dining room where you enter was kind of annoying.  Our table was far enough away where it didn't bother us during dinner but if we were closer to the doors, I would have asked to be moved.

  3. We just cruised on Freedom a couple of weeks ago. Our favorite bar was R Bar because of the fantastic bartenders, Gulsom and Francisco. They can create SO MANY martinis, drink, etc. They will ask you what you like. For example, if you tell them no chocolate or coffee, orange, etc., they will create something for you. Sit at the bar, they are entertaining too. Pretty sure I gained my cruise weight there!!!

  4. I had to talk my husband into an Alaskan cruise and we planned at least a year ahead. We both enjoyed it so much that we will definitely return again some day! As everyone is recommending, there's lots of information on the Alaska board and I learned so much from previous cruisers. We cruised last June on the southbound Radiance. We flew into Anchorage and stayed overnight. The next morning we took the Alaska Railroad glass domed train and enjoyed the vast wilderness and incredible views. Summer solstice was just beginning and we would watch the scenery go by while we were sitting in the Schooner or Champagne lounges until 11:30 at night! It was just beautiful and awesome. Our favorite excursion was flying in a float plane in Ketchikan. More untouched wilderness to view! It was a fantastic cruise and we wouldn't hesitate to do it again :)

  5. We just returned from southbound Radiance and had a port side balcony. We like the privacy of a balcony. We used the balcony daily to read the cruise compass, relax with a drink, and when we were getting ready for the day or night. Starting in Seward, during the solstice, we had many hours of daylight. It's nice to be able to check out the weather so you know how many layers you may need. We saw a couple of orcas from our balcony too. As far as being too cold, you'd be wearing layers if you were on upper decks too. My husband and I wore layers on our balcony and then when we were nearing Vancouver we were in short sleeves.

  6. We just returned from our Alaskan cruise. I never wore the 1 pair of shorts that I packed. Only needed them in Vancouver
