  1. Shows last month on Apex were at 7:30 and 9:30. There are additional shows by the Eden production cast - those are usually at 10:30 in Eden. Some nights, they do a show in the Club at 8:30 and 10:30.  We typically stuck with a 7:30 dinner time and would make the 9:30 show. Sometimes we would leave early for the 10:30 show in Eden, or skip the theatre show and have a drink or two in the bar before the 10:30 Eden show.

  2. Currently on Apex. The app shows Evian is $5.50. The bars have Evian and/or Acqua Panna - varies from day to day. Some places have both, or neither! The app shows one price for the Evian, but our room is stocked with large bottles of Evian - so you may be able to source those as well.

  3. We were on this cruise as well! We were booked in an Aqua Class room, but we MoveUpped to an Aqua Sky Suite, so we spent most of our time in the Retreat.  This was our first Retreat experience, and it did not disappoint.  It reminded us of the nicer aspects of cruising on Regent Seven Seas that we liked so much, but appreciate that the Beyond ship is far more interesting and entertaining.  We loved the Aqua Sky Suite with its bed facing the sea, and the mirror in the bathroom that hides away to reveal a window into the suite/sea is terrific.  We probably would not go out of our way to book an Aqua Suite again, but we did book another Sky Suite with bed facing the sea for 2024 on Ascent in the Med.

We dined in Luminae and Blu most nights, with a night at Eden and a night at Le Voyage.  We only had one dinner that was a miss, and that was in Luminae.  The rest of the food was great, and there are no cutbacks to be seen in the Retreat areas. It was the best cruise we've been on.  I should say - I had so much crab and lobster on this cruise - contrary to lots of complaints from other posters! Specialty dining, Blu, and Luminae there is no shortage of fabulous seafood. Le Voyage was outstanding and up there with some Michelin starred restaurants we've eaten at around the world.  They also gave us bottomless Veuve Cliquot (at no extra charge - we assumed we'd have to pay the difference from our premium package!), so that helps 🙂

The Retreat lounge was great for a pre-dinner drink, and staff was eager to please. We never had to want or wait for anything.  Fresh squeezed OJ in the mornings was a real treat and we enjoyed it so much with a fresh croissant!  We never had lunch in Luminae, but we did have lunch a couple times at the Retreat Pool Deck.  The menu is pretty limited and nothing exciting. I don't know who wants a chicken sandwich on a croissant every day.

We were disappointed that the Sunset Bar was so close to such a large smoking area - so much so that we stayed away after a drink.  It is such a beautiful space.

Tried to have a drink on the Magic Carpet one night when it was on 16 and one night when it was on deck 5, but it was so windy. No one was there except for one staff member.  The entire cruise last week was fairly windy with a decent swell.

The Edge class ships have spoiled us, and we won't consider booking a non-Edge Celebrity ship at this point. And we've been on plenty of the other Celeb ships - just not for me now!

After dinner we could not find any live entertainment at 8:30 any where.  *****?  We ended up back at our cabin.  That’s not okay.  There should always be a venue for listening to music.

We think 9:30 is too late for a show. There should be something to do at all times from 5pm to 10-11pm.

We had an 8:30 reservation for dinner one night and were shocked that there was no music or entertainment - the live music in the observation lounge stopped at 7:15 and they turned on some muzak for an hour and then dimmed the lights - we were the only ones there! I couldn't believe it.

I also think 9:30 is too late for the show.

We took our first cruise with Regent in February and I can totally empathise with you regarding the non existent wine list. Being shown a red and a white at your table then expecting to choose either didn't demonstrate a luxury cruise line experience. Trying to pin down what wines were available made us feel uncomfortable as if we should just drink what was put in front of us, and in our opinion was often an inferior drop. Overall I couldn't fault anything else, it was superb but for our next cruise in April I'm wondering how we can tackle this issue at the beginning to avoid this awkwardness.

We mentioned this in our mid cruise comments and the next day we had a printed wine list delivered to our room with a breakdown by bar and restaurant.  I know it wasn't an exhaustive list, but I appreciated having more than two options!

Which port does Regent use in Los Angeles? I told luggage forward to deliver my luggage to mariner at the port of San Pedro. I hope that was right.

    10 days and counting!

PS. I packed over the weekend. The luggage will be picked up this afternoon!

Port of San Pedro. You'll be at Outer Harbor/Berth 46 - it isn't set up very well for cruise ships, so you'll be at a temporary tent.

  7. Received our 30th Anniversary Cruise gift last evening. A set of very heavy coasters! A nice gesture.

One thing no one seems to be commenting on is the toilet situation. Every morning, it seems, the toilets won’t flush for upwards of an hour. Seems like a big problem - big enough that everyone received a notice last night to put nothing but TP down the drain. We’ve seen quite a few maintenance folks working in the hallways on 7 and 8.

  8. I called the Captains Club line this morning as same issue for me. They answered right away - not even 15 seconds on hold.  However, she said that in order for the double points to go through, it has to be approved and processed by 'Loyalty' - how that is different from 'Captains Club' I have no idea - so she is sending an email to Loyalty to approve and process, which takes one to two weeks. We'll see what happens next!

I found it and tried, but after selecting our names as the guests and clicking "next" I get a message that states that 'we are sorry but this restaurant is not available on this ship or at this date and time" or something very similar!  And I had not even been given a choice to pick a day!

Try by selecting only one of your names - it is a single fee for the rental. If I recall when I booked for Solstice earlier this year, I had the same trouble. Once I picked just my name as the person reserving, it let me pick a day.

My sister got covid and I went solo to Alaska this month. Took a book to the MDR, chat with others occasionally.  I really liked the buffet at dinner also. Quiet and nice views. Saw a few whales. I didn't have room service once but that's just me.  Good luck.

Sorry about your sister - hope she had a speedy recovery! I'm off to Alaska next week - whale watching while having dinner sounds great!

Thanks.  I have the ArriveCan on my phone now and I can combine myself and my husband.  I just don't know how to upload or download the photos or the passport, but I will copy everything and take it with me in hopes that they won't keep me off the ship!  You have all been so good.  It is hard to not be computer savvy.  I am very appreciative.

You're halfway there now that you have ArriveCan app on your phone!  There is a 'Travellers' button on the bottom (right next to Home) and there you click on Add traveller. Select that you'll scan your passport, and then it automatially opens the camera to take a picture of your passport, so have it next to you! Then, you confirm all the info from the photo, answer the question if you're vaccinated, and then manually type in the vaccine and dates for your doses. Then it takes you to a page to add file/photo - click on that button and if you took a photo of it already, select the Gallery button and find your photo. If you don't have it saved, click the Camera button and take a photo right there.  You'll do this step for each traveller - just click 'Add Traveller" to add your husband after you're done with yours.

It seems like a lot of steps but will take you no more than five minutes. This bit you can do at anytime before the trip.

When you get within 72 hours of the trip, you enter in your trip details, so have your flights/hotel/etc details handy.

  12. If any of you have cruised recently, can you tell me if it is possible to order off to main dining room menu for takeaway/to go?  TL;DR I was scheduled to do a cruise coming up with my parents who had to cancel, but I'm still going - now solo - and I don't know how much I'll want to eat in the MDR by myself!  Not sure how often I'll want the room service menu. I know I can order sushi to go from Sushi On Five - but seven nights of that will get old (and expensive)!  Thanks for your insights!

Being on one of these AT "special interest" cruises later this year, we hope we have a more inclusive experience.

The focus is Hollywood, so maybe there will be an an acknowledgement of the numerous Hollywood blockbusters that are filmed in UK studios 😉

We realised soon after booking that it was a special interest cruise and signed up early for the Spotlight programme of events, so we should be "in the tent🙂

We will report back during or after the cruise as to whether the special events enhance our enjoyment

How do we sign up for the Spotlight program of events? We're booked on the Hollywood cruise in October and interested in learning more!

Had one on Explorer on 2/21 - 3/03. Very nice! Received pins, a set of Regent coasters(heavy), and fun dance party once at 5:30 in the Atrium is what I remember but probably was more.

Nice. We were on Mariner over Christmas in 2014 and received a lovely framed painting with the Mariner, Bora Bora, and New Zealand. We proudly display it in our home as it was our honeymoon! We weren't sure if that was just because it was a holiday cruise or if this was common practice on Regent.

  15. I haven't seen any posts on the 30th Anniversary Voyages. Wondering if any of you have been on one yet, and what really was 'special' or different on the cruise?

Regent's website says this: To celebrate these last 30 years — and as we look to the decades ahead — we have curated and enhanced a collection of unique sailings. Experience each of these 30th Anniversary Voyages, including commemorative pins and gifts, an anniversary party on each cruise, specialty drinks and one-of-a-kind dining options, alongside enhanced entertainment and more.

Curious to hear your opinion and what you experienced!  We're booked for the Mariner in October out of Los Angeles. Sailed on Mariner back in 2014 out of Tahiti and looking forward to being on her again!

  16. When are you planning to go? Was just on Reflection last week in Aqua Class. Dining room was half filled, at best, the entire week.  Not once did we have to wait and only a couple times did I see people in the back half of the dining room away from the windows.  Always had a choice of loungers in the Persian Garden, too.

Will that change in the next few months if things open up? Probably.
