My husband is gluten free and we have sailed on Grand Princess three times to Alaska and are scheduled to go to Hawaii next month.  We always choose traditional dining, and the head waiter has been very careful about ordering just what hubby wants.  Princess doesn't want medical emergencies on the ship, and undoubtedly they would be open for lawsuits if they delivered food that injured allergic people.  As far as bread, on the Grand, they bake their own GF bread and it is amazing!  I often eat it and I'm not GF.  For breakfast at the buffet, we get it toasted and top it with the lemon, blueberry or strawberry compote and it is delicious!  There is always a GF dessert at the buffet, and usually two or three.

My husband and I have been on 5 Alaskan cruises and we have never had a balcony. We have seen amazing 360 degree views from the top deck of the ship. I feel like we would miss a lot by staying on one side of the ship. Price is a consideration for us, and we can take more cruises by keeping the price low. We had a balcony in Hawaii, and that was nice, but certainly not necessary for us.

That is amazing! Such a beautiful day, and so well photographed and presented! We went last September and it was a rainy, windy, nasty day. We are going again this year, and hope that we get a day more like the one you experienced! Thanks so much for sharing!

My DH and I have been on 2 Gaither cruises to Alaska and one Southern Gospel Music cruise to the Caribbean. ABSOLUTELY LOVED all of them, but especially the Gaither cruises! As some have noted, they are more expensive because of all of the artists that need to be paid. So that is a drawback. But the whole ship was chartered and you just felt like you almost knew everyone on board though you had never met them.

However, that being said, earlier this month, we went on our first non-Christian themed cruise (also to Alaska with family) and I can't think of anything that was particularly negative or offensive. Well, some of the shows were a little racier than I enjoy, but it was more of a PG13 than an R rating I guess. And of course there was a spectrum of people, but most of them just seemed like regular people like the rest of us. We just tried to be salt and light.

My friend went on a Michael W. Smith cruise to Alaska a few years ago and she absolutely raved about it! There are plenty of Christian themed cruises if you can afford to pay a little more.
