  1. Hey folks - so, if I'm reading all this right, would a good summary be that primarily the outside cabins, particularly in the aft of the ship, would be most affected? Would it make sense that the inside rooms would be rather immune (even the aft ones) since extra "padding" surrounding them? Thanks.

In my experience it is certainly more noticeable nearer the aft of the ship. I don't know if moving more to the center would make a difference? That 'extra padding' that you are talking about is all part of the ships steel internals. Yes, all the walls of the ship, in all the cabins is made of steel, so they will transfer the vibration still. I have never been on a ship that didn't vibrate a little, and roll a little, it's all part of being on a ship.

  2. We were in an aft cabin on Fantasy two years ago, on deck 8, and encountered a similar but less offensive vibration. The ship was leaving San Juan, and headed up to Castaway Cay and they must have made the decision at the bridge to open the throttle. We had a similar vibration on that long high speed run to the Bahamas. I didn't bother to record it, as other aft cabins on other vessels have been about the same. We were on Liberty on the Seas in an aft cabin and also encountered a 'cyclic' vibration in the cabin that would cause the joint where the cabin wall (bulkhead) and ceiling (overhead) to vibrate and make noise. I always figured it was part of the charm of having the aft facing cabin....

  3. Hi Guys,

We are currently booked on Fantasy more than a year from now... 10 Feb 2018 to celebrate my wife's birthday the following week.

Anyway, last time we were on Fantasy we did a brunch at Palo, and had a good time. But, we didn't try Remy. We would like to try it, but I have also heard that the price is just a little lower on the first night of the cruise. Is this true?

By the way, the bar between Remy and Palo was my favorite place for a Jack on the Rocks in the evenings. Quiet, well serviced and with a great view with lots of well dressed folks to watch as they come in for a drink or just sit and wait for their table! Looking forward to being up there again.

  4. We had a rear facing cabin on 8 two years ago on an Eastern Caribbean trip on Fantasy and I would not trade it. It did get rough on the day long haul from San Juan to Castaway Cay, and there was a very pronounced 'wiggle' to the ship that far aft. I LOVED it, slept like a baby those nights.

Yes, it's a little farther from the kids clubs and such, and I tend to take the stairs to get around on the ship and work off some of the calories, but I don't see a large difference that a couple of decks would make.

    My opinion only....

  5. Last time we were at Castaway Cay, I brought my own gear to snorkel...including a short wet suit. It was a November trip and coming from South Florida the water seemed kind of cold to me, so I put it on, along with a beanie cap that I wear when diving in cooler water. We were out in the water for over an hour and I was fine. My son lives in Michigan and he was fine too (used to the colder water up-north I guess) but my SIL from south Florida was suffering a little bit with the water temperatures.
