Apparently I am a quaint antique as I kind of prefer a book to my eBook. I was just hoping I could find something on board instead of hauling two weeks worth of books. I usually just bring novels,(I.E. Sanford or Childs) and just leave them there.

Anyone that may have been on the Grand Princess recently, still have a library and does it have any books? Been on a couple Carnival ships and found you better bring something from home. Thanks once again.

OK folks, messed with it and after some frustration (read I will have a couple hours in the confessional) I got it switched to blue. They should have a box right at the start that asks "are you a crabby old guy" and if you check it they switch it to an easier path.

Thanks to all-apparently they do not have "assigned check in times" like Carnival. We will look at a later arrival, at least it should be better the second week as it is a B2B. I just do not understand at this point what difference "blue line" has over say green line or red line. Been many many years since Princess.

We sail May 20 out of Vancouver and all I see about boarding is Blue Line. Can anyone tell me what time we should get to the terminal. Not in a rush but want to avoid getting there and standing outside forever. Thanks to all ( I tried on my app thing and am still in the "have to idea line")

Same cabin this time but not a big deal. Done it both ways and never ruined a trip. I just go to guest services demand a refund, remove my tips and demand to speak to the Captain or someone higher.

Thanks Essiesmom. Good to know. Or we could stay on the ship and welcome the new-crew. We have done Alaska before and any activities will be determined by energy at the time and weather. We have dome the 2 activities you mentioned on I think our second trip to Alaska but if we are up to it (yes, we are old) we can always seem to find something to do.
Thank you and PEB again.

Thank you PEB. So pretty much same as Carnival and NCL. The way it is going we could end up with a blizzard on the end of May. Photo opp. may be having a Duck Fart shot at the Red Dog in a snowmobile suit.

I know, I am asking too many questions. We have done many B2B trips on Carnival and know their process. We are doing a Vancouver to Alaska to Vancouver and am just curious what to expect. Thanks folks.

I misspoke. I have the OBC for my trips. I am talking about a program like Carnival has where everyone meets in a designated area and they have a hour or so program

Been cruising Carnival quite a bit and the military appreciation program has been great on every one. Going Princess on a couple cruises and cannot remember if they have any such thing.
-
Thanks to all who responded. After reading this I remembered doing this on a Princess cruise many years ago.
-
Many many cruises on other lines mostly, so, can someone explin the future cruise certificate program. Also, any watch fors or ins and outs of the program. Thanks.

Thank you for the prompt response. Much appreciated.

Should read blanked out, seems to be happening a lot.

I have done it many times before but this time drawing a blank regarding the mailing address to send the proof of ownership. Hope someone here sees this and helps out a old guy that just banked out. Thank you in advance.

We booked a cruise by accident several years ago. Seven day cruise. I figured what the heck, lets see what happens. Tons of college age kids, loud boisterous and some of the most polite kids ever. We just wandered off if we needed to be away from it but generally just enjoyed the kids antics. Gotta say, they were more inclined to apologize if they bumped into you or whatever than most of us older folks. Go with the mindset you are going to have fun and you will.

1. Crew-always friendly and upbeat
2.Great Military appreciation program. I am Viet Nam era
3.Call it people watching but actually it is more like sitting and visiting with everyone. Nearly everyone will stop and visit and every one of them is a story.

Savio on the Conquest
-
Question for you. A while ago we were on this ship for 2 weeks and every morning there were two girls walking all over with a tray of breakfast rolls etc. and singing little songs and called themselves the roosters of the morning. Did you see anything of the sort. Almost a highlight of the day some days.
-
On the Conquest end of November and we met in one of the dining rooms. They had pastries etc there, collected our old cards, came back shortly after and gave us our new ones. We waited another 15 minuets or so and they marched us off the ship, almost turned right around and back on. Mimosas, a group photo and end of story. Same cabin but had to change in the past. Just throw your stuff in a suitcase and they move the bags and all hanging stuff to the new room. The only problem we have found, and we have done a number of B2B, is the second week we would end up going down to our cabin from the first week.
-
We have done a number of B2B trips. Same cabin sometime, same cabin sometime. If changing we tell our room steward ahead (he always knew already( and he and the new one work it out. Just kind of pack stuff in your bags, leave the hanging stuff alone and they take care of it. We slip each one a few bucks extra. As far as anything extra, you will get a letter to meet at a specific spot. Usually coffee etc waiting. After a seemingly long wait they collect your old S&S and give you your new ones. Then escorted off, through customs etc, and escorted right back on. Usually a drink of some sort in the atrium bar for all B2Bers then a group picture which should be delivered t you room maybe the next morning or so. A treasured keepsake of a bunch of people you will never see again but a fun little thing they do. Then you get the ship for a short time. Any more questions we can certainly try to help.

When booking the second leg make sure they link the two cruises. Then you should be good to get a letter at the end of the first leg telling you the details for gathering and reboarding for your second. Also, the matreD will know and more then likely visit with you on the first week and ask where you would like to be seated (unless ATD, then makes no difference)

Just off a B2B and had some OBC to use or loose on the first one. Bought some liquor and when they went to ring it up we were flagged as B2B so they held it until the end of the second leg. This was a change from in the past but was told it is the way they have to do it now.
