  1. On the same cruise:

Port Canaveral got it together. Getting on and off was a breeze. Good directional signage and staff giving directions. We were on the first bus from MCO but didn’t arrive at the terminal until after noon so no need to get an early checkin time. Although it appeared no one was checking anyway.

Aqua and Ice shows were excellent. Grease was just okay. Agree on piano player and pub singer, pretty mediocre. Always enjoyed the karaoke in OnAir.

Ate in MDR 3 nights with MTD. Never had an issue getting in at 7:30, waited only 5min on Lobster night. There were no lines the other 2 nights. Went to 150, Chops and Jamie’s. 150 was really good, chops was good, Jamie’s just okay. Had dinner in WJ one night and lunches most days, was okay. Liked JRs for breakfast.

We loved CocoCay! Stayed aboard and enjoyed the ship at St. Thomas. St Kitts did a catamaran excursion, that was really fun. The beach they took us to was no beach. About 4 feet of steep sand and rocky at the water.

The ship rolled more than usual for such a large vessel. The “wave” pool was fun on the last day. It was sloshing about 3 feet back and forth.

Favorite drinks, mudslide and frozen mojito. Coke cups not in our room, had to get them at a kiosk in the promenade.

Weather was great! To us the ship never seemed crowded.  No flight delays!

We kept it as it's transport to MCO to fly home on a late flight, but they didn't even lower the price.

We have a late flight out of MCO next Sunday. Just wondering if the KSC post cruise tour included luggage transfer to the airport or do you have to collect your luggage off the ship, lug it to the tour bus then lug it off the bus into the airport after the tour?

What is the range of prices people have seen (and how far out from their cruise date) on the Alcohol beverage package?

Again, $72 a person per day seems high (current rate for me)

For our October cruise it went back up to 78 at the end of this past this week, it was 72 for their "sale". I saw it at 67 early one morning and went to buy it, but the price charged when I put it in my cart. I think it was a glitch on their web page as they updated pricing for the sale. We won't buy it until it goes into the 60's range. If not, we'll go a la carte.

  4. Friday morning, I checked the deluxe package for our October Harmony cruise, it was $67.  I checked with my wife and went back to the computer to purchase 10 minutes later. Price was still 67, but when I put it in the cart the total didn't look right. Went back to the price page and the price changed to 72.99, buy one get one half off. I wish I would have screen shot the $67 price.  It appears they made a mistake or a glitch was fixed right away.  The night before it was 78.

  5. The lowest we've seen for our October Harmony cruise is $73/day during the July4 "sale". The current discounted price is $78, though the non-discounted is 98, w/o gratuity added in. We've decided low 60's is our trigger point. I doubt it will go that low. Last cruise in 2019 we got it for under 50...

It was the United States Gov't that said the ship had go to the country of registration.  So the US gov't was denying the responsibility of taking care of US citizens in the US.  Not the cruise lines.

Not true.  The US State Department has been repatriating Americans stuck in foreign countries.  I read 40,000 plus so far.

That is so not true.  The CDC estimates that there have been 24,000 – 63,000 deaths from the flu during the current flu season.  There have been about 58,000 deaths from Covid-19 so far, increasing by at least 5000 per day.

You're using the world numbers for deaths due to Covid-19 when comparing to US flu deaths.  The US currently has 5,900 Covid-19 related deaths.  That's still way less than the flu in the US, but it could eventually equal flu deaths in the US before it's all over.

Do they ever indicate which ships have functional texting?

Our Allure cruise in October is showing the chat feature with the app on my iPhone.  In the upper right corner is a message symbol with 3 dots in it.   Clicking on it opens a screen that says "Stay connected during your cruise.  You can chat with linked guests while viewing your current reservation and connected to ship Wi-Fi".

Is there any advantage to checking in using the app versus online? (sailing on the allure)

I found it much quicker because I could scan in our passport info and pictures with my phone.  We also got "Expedited Arrival" on our set sail passes.  I'm not sure what that entitles us.  We also had a choice of arrival time.  It defaulted to 2 PM, but I was able to change it to 11 AM.  I don't remember having that choice before.

  10. I was on the Oct 6th sailing which has the port change.  I got my notification email less than 2 days after my booking.  After I saw the thread about the Azipod issue and that it was a known issue prior to my booking, I was ticked.  Long story short I called twice to see if I could change without the change fee due to the inconvenience.  Its like talking to robots....all they quote is the contract, no flexibility for customer service sake.  Even the resolution specialist wouldn't budge even after acknowledging it was a known issue prior to my reservation date.  Finally the RS looked at my reservation and realized I was within the 7 day booking window and told me I could change w/o the fee(I was not aware of this), but was still making sure I understood this was not compensation for the issue...gee wiz, I get it!   As far as I'm concerned this is a bad deal for customers of this particular sailing and poor customer service for not at least offering a token compensation for changing an advertised itinerary.

  11. After talking to 2 different CSRs and finally a resolution specialist, I found out I was still in my 7 day window to make a change without a fee, today was the 7th day.   The 2 CSRs failed to notice or tell me that.  The RS finally noticed it, but prior to that wouldn't budge on the change fee.  I said after all these gyrations in telling my story to the CSRs, pleading my case etc, all they had to do was look at my reservation date and realize I was still in the 7 day window.   I wasn't aware of it either.  Anyway we changed to a different itinerary.

  12. There are a lot of RC and cruise line fanboys that don't have a vested interest in this issue trying to make us feel like we are in the wrong for discussing an issue that affects our vacation.   I give good reviews to people who ask me outside of the forum about our cruise experiences with RC, but this one kinda stinks.  It's not like we were at sea and weather caused a change in ports.  This was a known problem for while and still took reservations without a saying there might be a change due to an issue with the ship.   Good customer service is at least offering a simple on board credit for the inconvenience and being upfront with customers.  Anyone who works in the service industry should know the customer comes first and making them feel good goes a long way for future business.

  13. Now I'm really ticked.  I just saw the thread on the Allure Azipod issue and it appears RC was aware of this issue before I made my reservation on the 28th for Oct 6 sailing for the advertised itinerary.  Then less than 48 hours later send me a notice that the itinerary has changed due to a known issue with the ship they already knew about.

  14. Yes, we got the email too.   Ours is the October 6th cruise and the same switch.   And, they shortened the time spent at dock at PR and Nassau.  I'm going to explore changing to a different cruise, but I bet every Allure cruise is changing.  Surely you would think they could fix a propulsion issue by October.

  15. We had a 7PM reservation for every night on our last cruise ,arrived at 6:20 every night and were seated immediately,

I was wondering if you could just show up earlier than your MTD reservation time. On one night of our upcoming cruise, the only choice left for MTD was 7:45. We want to eat earlier than that because of a show reservation. Can we just show up at say, 6:30? Or, do we have to try to change that reservation time once on the ship?

  16. Harmony does have an outlet next to the bed that is close enought for no need for power cord. I can't recall Oasis and Allure as my wife wasn't using a CPAP at that time.

Having said that. Send an email to special_needs@rccl.com about use of CPAP. They will provide free distilled water and an extension cord if needed. For example on Harmony there was only distilled water in the cabin upon arrival. But on our upcoming Enchanment cruise they replied back that there will be distilled water and an extension cord in the cabin.

I provide my reservation number and name of ship.

Great! Thank you for the suggestion. I will do that.

  17.

...I have a Scooter and a CPAP. The scooter can charge in either 110 or 240, but I still need the $0.89 adapter. (I have a bag of them). I always travel with an extension cord in the CPAP bag. No one has ever taken it. ...

    .

I use a CPAP device and was wondering if there is an outlet near the bed that the regular power cord could reach to on Allure class ships? Or, do I need to bring a discreet extension cord?;)
