  1. I don't know.  We just got back 12 days ago.  I expect it is the same as it was in the lst week of December though.  They seemed pretty fixed on procedures.

PS.  Your avatar reminds me of the Logo at Sunshine's bar on the beach on Nevis.

I've got one somewhere that looks a lot like yours and reads.

"I got stung by a KILLER BEE at Sunshines"

Very cool place to hang out.

  2. I can only speak for myself but we were on the Escape in Dec.which holds about 6,000.  They had just under 2,500.

Didn't matter though as Covid has no trouble FINDING people.

IMHO The pre-boarding testing tents were a super spreader event all by themselves.  250 people crammed into a tent.  Yes they DID say  to keep 6' back in the line but it was right next to the line going the other way so you were shoulder to shoulder with them anyway.

It gave us an extra 10 vacation days locked  in a Florida Hotel room.

I am SO glad that we didn't pick a crummy hotel going TO Florida as they tried to put quarantined people in the same hotel as they arrived.

I've been my own victim choosing a cheep one as we are usually only there for a day or 2 pre-cruise.  Joshua Rose on top of the Market in Phillipsburgh SXM comes to mind.  3rd floor had nearly no water pressure and you had to time your shower to align with the solar heater.  It WAS under $50/nt though so I got what I paid for.  I could not imagine being there for 2 weeks though!  This time I was lucky as the Girlfriend has hotel points and we were in a beautiful Radisson Resort, so it could have been worse.

Come to think of it.... It can ALWAYS be worse so don't temp fate.

Thanks so much for the info! Glad you are both well now. I wondered if most of the qurartined cases were from passengers that were tested after asking for medicine or seeking treatment from the medical staff. Did they even have any cold medications at the on board store?

That is how it started for us.  She was sure it was a cold from swimming in the ocean.  After it got worse she only wanted Nyquil.  They have NO OTC to just go buy there so she had to involve the Dr.  THAT is how she found out.

Thank GOD she did though as she wouldn't have had the right antibiotics and could very well have self prescribed to the symptoms until it was too late.

Thanks.  I do remember that now from a few weeks ago.   The update was interesting.   NCL  blaming Bermuda and visa versa.  That's the problem,  it's impossible to get a straight answer from anyone. Maybe by now,  NCL has a better handle on things,  and are revising all their misteps.  🤞

Our 3 week sequence of events has given me complete confidence in how much Norwegian cares about us after they collect our money and get us off their boat.

Thx. Order black label. Drink. Repeat. Room service all day long and an upgrade from my inside to a balcony. And a full refund. Quarantine doesn’t sound all bad!

We had bid on the upgrade weeks prior to boarding and we were had the Beverage package..

No one I spoke with changed cabins although one spent a couple days in the infirmary.  They have not said anything about ANY refund, only pay for what you need to ashore and after your trip insurance you can apply for $100/day per person meal allowance, Reasonable transport to hospital or Airport and flight change fees up to $300.

ALL other incidentals are at YOUR cost.

Thanks for the info. I think I read some reports that they weren’t delivering alcohol, but good to hear you were able to get something. If they are quarantining with no symptoms, the least they can do is honor the beverage package!

To the people asking if they are quarantining close contacts (not cabinmates), I only read about this happening on the Bermuda cruises where there were lots of special rules and additional tests. If anyone knows of a recent example from another ship, please share.

The poster who had their child test positive recently on the Bliss was not quarantined or tested. NCL does not want to find any cases right now. As far as I know the only people who have been tested onboard lately called the medical center and asked for help

I believe this is because they only have to show tests on ONE person  and ASSUME the other 4 in your cabin have it ( with symptoms) without needing to record it.  I have no hard evidence of contact tracing but none of the people we disembarked late with said they were contacted.  Each one said they had requested testing in one way or another.  "I just thought I had a cold"  was common for the less serious cases.

  7. I sincerely thank you all for your concern.

I'm fine and she has recovered.

She had a negative PCR for only $99 at the hotel we were staying at.

Not because we were being monitored by NCL, but her desire not to pass it to anyone else.  The hotel room had no balcony so it was TV, Internet and Dominoes.

I'm sure you've heard of the game where everyone's name eventually becomes hyphenated beginning with YOU [fill in the expletive]

    ALSO.......

I was with my GIRLFRIEND, as in GOOD friend.

I was NOT traveling with some variant parasitic life form of walletsnake.snake.jpg.6a4263df5eeaa81551c5f2b8641176b7.jpg

So they found you were " in close contact" or did you have symptoms? Did they test for covid? Also wondering if you stayed in your original cabin or moved. Please! We need answers lol

We were on the ESCAPE out of Orlando.

Well, I consider living in the same cabin for a couple weeks would be close contact.  She was tested POSITIVE and VERY symptomatic (Headache Full head lots of Coughing) so  I was "presumed" to have it without testing me as they reasoned I must have it due to contact.

We stayed in our original cabin as did everyone we spoke on the "special Disembarkation" to that didn't go to the infirmary.

  9. WE had negative PCR tests prior to boarding Dec 23 after reading the fine print about "help" if you contracted on the ship.

We also tested negative as we boarded with the antigen test.

She got sniffles a few days out which developed into a "COLD". She was looking for Nyquil but any drugs must go through the ship's Dr. .... $199.00 call but required a test (why if not SEEING the Doctor?)  Lady in HAZMAT came up and about 2 ours later we got THE CALL

She was stunned to be positive but they refused to re-test

    OR

Test me saying I MUST have it due to contact.

(This was a recurring story  with the 50 or so others dropped at the hotel, Why wouldn't they test ANYONE who asked?)

SO we were quarantined to our cabin.  THANK THE LORD they had accepted our upgrade bid for a balcony or after a day or so, I might have chewed a hole through the bulkhead. Free room service from guys in HAZMAT suits.  Free movies after We asked.  Reimbursed WIFI after we asked.

As far as I know there were no announcements or changes to any activities such as the "Glow Party".

I'm shutting up now as I worry I may have already exceeded the board rules and there is TOO MUCH to tell.  I do not speak conjecture and can only tell you what WE experienced. You can google  Napa woman cruise Covid for her interview. about this.

For me the bottom line is that in my humble opinion:

VACATION is priceless and TIME is the one thing that cannot be bought or replaced.

  10. I LOVED the old WBC....Ok well except for dealing with the company:mad:

Yes I went down with the Legacy in Costa Rica in late 2007 too. Had I known what was about to transpire I would have gladly paid full price instead of scooping up any discount they offered. In the end they were giving trips away. The bright spot is that although I still have 2 of my SAIL5's at least I didn't take out a 30 mortgage to fund a cabin on La Mer like one of my Flotilla friends did.

I am SO GLAD the most beautiful ship in the fleet is alive and WELL!!!!

We went last Sept. and are boarding again in May for a REPO from Antigua to Grenada.

Any recent info about Antigua would be appreciated.
