  1. The "official" word is that NCL will do Halloween on the 30th since the 31st is a port day and the last day of the cruise. Several travel groups on this cruise so expect a super party atmosphere, if that's not what your looking for its to late to cancel! :p

I so hope this is true! Would be so much nicer to not have to worry about repacking all that stuff (costumes are quite large) in the chaos of preparing for debarkation! where did you get the info?

  2. how far out from your sail date do you get the upsell call? Do they usually go for the most experienced cruisers? We've only been on one Carnival Cruise before so I'm thinking there are alot of people ahead of us. We have an ocean suite on the Pride, there is one grand suite available, it looks like its quite a bit bigger, and since there will be 4 of us the bigger the better.

We got a call exactly one week before our Ecstacy cruise in January. We went from a balcony to a grand suite with an extended balcony for $300 (it was only a 4 night cruise). It was a beautiful room, walk in closet, huge balcony and loved having the jetted bathtub for a nice hot soak before bed. Not sure how we were selected. It was our 19th cruise but the first time we'd been called for any type of an upsell/upgrade.

  3. Do not use red glitter nail polish on your toes!. DH and I were snorkeling in Costa Maya in April; when making out way back to shore I was bitten by something in the water. I had a deep puncture wound that bled very badly for about 1/2 hour and was very painful. The locals at the beach bar/restraunt I was at said the glitter in my nail polish probably attracted it. This picture was about 4 days later but you can see from the bruising that it was prety bad.
