We used Rapid Test and Trace 2 weeks ago and were very happy with them.  Was able to reschedule to earlier times for some of us due to a schedule change for our day- but they only had a few earlier times, so my husband and I were going to keep our late appointments (10:45pm).  When the proctors came on (2 different appointments), they both accommodated us (one allowed 2 of us to test and the other allowed 3 of us to test).   It was very easy and we were happy with the proctors we had!

Hi.  We are using rapid test and trace on Thursday for our cruise leaving Saturday.  Can you tell me what kind of certificate or proof they emailed you. I am getting a little nervous about this.  Thanks

The Key has nothing to do with the drink package.

Personally, my husband and I are elderly and decided to give it a try.  For us to get on the ship earlier with less people, lunch without having to deal with the Windjammer buffet, VIP seating for shows, not having to lug around our carryon bags and getting to have a real breakfast each morning on our balcony is well worth it for us.  We also weighed the cost against the outrageous cost of the drink package for both of us (I know drink alcohol much less than I used to), the Key is a cheaper and better way to enjoy our cruise.

If you have the key are you not charged the service fee for room service?

  3. I was on Breakaway a few years ago.  I loved the mega ship experience. In June of 2018 we were on the Pearl to Alaska. The ship was in great condition. My husband loved it.  He prefers the smaller ship.  I prefer the larger ones.  We’ll be on epic in April.  We were on it in 2015 for a Mediterranean cruise.

  4. I think you can leave anytime before the final call.

But I imagine that the customs line would be longer the later you choose to leave.

If you have time you could always disembark early, walk to Pike Place Market, and get a coffee or breakfast. Then catch a taxi from there.

Do you need to request the port valet papers or are they in your stateroom? We would like to use this on our Pearl cruise in 2 weeks. I’m reading so many different posts. Thanks for your help:)

  5. I agree. We spent 4 days pre cruise (one of which was jet lag recovery day) and we could have used at least one more.

I agree with this also. We spent three nights prior to our Epic cruise and I wish we had more. We left New York City at 8 pm. I was able to sleep on the plane. Hubby not so much. When we arrived In Rome we reserved a car to take us From airport to the hotel. Checked in and then went out again. We had a dinner and Rome by Night tour in the evening. We also took a car to Civitavecchia. We are in our sixties so this was easiest for us. Doing Rome pre or post cruise is a personal option.

  6. We cruised on the Gem two years ago, and the Dawn last April (our 2nd time), also the Jewel three years ago. We like all the entertainment. However all three ships have one pool which was always crowded. It did not matter to us since we liked to lounge in an uncrowded area. The gem had a nice large shower type thing so you could cool off. That said, we are going on the Breakaway in April

as we want to try a new, large ship.
