3 things from me:
1. Haleakala at sunrise - words cannot describe this.
2. Road to Hana - we drove ourselves, stopped where we wanted, it was great!
3. Old Lahaina Luau
Enjoy!!

OK, good to know anyway, thanks for responding! We'll plan to be up and out early, I'm sure it will all work out fine. Can't wait to go - 6 more weeks!!

Thanks for the great review and photos! Just wondering if you can comment a little more on the POA tender process in Kona? We have a rental car reserved (no ship excursion for us) so I'm hoping it will be quick and easy! On a previous cruise on the Dawn, I recall having to go in the early morning to line up for tender tickets. Thanks :)

We're considering bicycle rentals for the second day on Kauai. Any info or tips from anyone who has done this? We just want to bike on the path near Kapa'a (1/2 day). Thanks!

We're on the 4-night on March 24. I was disturbed reading the original post - vacation should definitely not be like that! Hope not to experience too much of the spring break insanity - fingers crossed.....

Not if you're sailing during "spring break" - as we are....March 24 on the Sky. And no getting around it apparently - even though we are not spring breakers!

Thank you both.
I am expecting to have to pay for parking, yes.
VideoTech - will be interested in hearing how it works out for you!

Looking for advice from anyone who has rented a car while in port at Maui. We'll be on POA - arriving at 8 a.m. on Nov. 16, staying overnight and departing at 6 p.m. on Nov. 17. We'd like to do the Hana Highway on Nov. 16 and sunrise at Haleakala on Nov. 17 plus explore on our own, avoiding excursions - ship or otherwise. We've rented a car on Maui previously, but on a land vacation, not a cruise, so we know what the drive to Hana is like, as well as to Haleakala in the dark! Interested in others' car rental experiences - how easy is it to keep the car overnight, parking at the port, etc. Thanks in advance! :)

Thanks for the suggestion - I'll definitely check it out! :)

We will also be staying there in March, pre-cruise (and we too plan to be quite happy! :D). Looking for good Cuban food within walking distance of the Hampton - any restaurant recommendations would be greatly appreciated - thanks!

Nice! Will look forward to your review, as the 'mixed' reviews have had me a bit concerned as well. We are taking the 4-night on March 24 - can't wait to escape winter!

Will be on the Breakaway to Bermuda May 18-25/14. We are considering driving from Ontario, arriving May 16 as we want to have the weekend in NYC prior to the cruise. We obviously wouldn't stay right in Manhattan with a car, but require easy access into the city for our weekend activities. Park and stay hotels seem to be somewhat difficult to find, so we are looking for recommendations - any help is appreciated. We are open to staying on either the NJ side, or the NY side. Thanks!
Ok we rented the Twizy and I loved it!

Thanks for the info - we are cruising to Bermuda with Norwegian next May and are looking at booking a Twizy! Where did you pick up and drop off the Twizy?
