We've just done something we've never done before - we've booked a back-to-back 🙂 After the Allure docksin Galveston on Feb 19 ,we are heading down the street to board the Ruby Princess for another week. I was wondering if Princess does anything for people doing a B2B, such as allow early boarding, allowing us in the terminal while we wait to board, etc?

Just fyi, you have booked a “side by side.”

  2. Yes.  I stayed at the Hotel Gaudi, summer of 2019, at the conclusion of our cruise. Our room was modern. The front desk personnel were quite helpful. The hotel is located right off Las Ramblas. We walked everywhere.

We plan on taking the same tour and then being dropped off at Sabrada Famila for. 3:00 pm tour. How would you suggest we get back To Ship? Taxi?

What did did you do for lunch , earring places to Sagrada Famila? Thanks

It is very easy to grab a taxi, after you finish your visit at Sagrada Familia.  There are many restaurants in the neighborhood of La Sagrada.  We just found a place with what we thought had good Sangria, and tapas.  Unfortunately, I forgot the name.

  4. Barcelona Day Tours is an excellent tour company, from the first email contact, months before our cruise, to a follow up of our tour. After a two week Med cruise, on June 8, 2019, we used Barcelona Day Tours for an all-day tour of Barcelona, including Monserrat and Parc Güell. Separately, we purchased inside tickets to La Sagrada Familia through them for the day after our tour. We were picked up at the cruise terminal, and dropped off at our hotel right off La Rambla, after the tour. The group consisted of 12 of us, all disembarking the Emerald Princess. We had a great time.

It it was an excellent day.  You will be fortunate if you have Josep for your local guide. Thanks, Barcelona Day Tours. Highly recommend.

  5. For anyone with friends/family on the Royal, after leaving Hamburg today, due to an intense weather forecast in the North Atlantic they have diverted the crossing. Calls to Bergen, Belfast and St. Johns have been cancelled. They anticipate calling to Vigo and Ponta Delgada before beginning their passage across the Atlantic. They still plan to arrive in NY on Tuesday Sept. 25.

Thanks. My friends are on this cruise

  6. I may have missed so I will ask. I have been looking to go to the Med on Princess in June visiting Rome and Barcelona. Their web site indicates Crown but it is sold out. A major on line company indicates Emerald and available. Does anyone have any answers?

Booked Emerald for May 2019 for Mediterranean.

  7. So...What are the Concierge lunch hours?

Reason I ask is that we're cruising out of Seward on Millennium in a Concierge class cabin...and our bus transportation from our hotel in Anchorage isn't scheduled to arrive at the ship until 1:00 pm...And, I assume that, even with Elite Plus priority status, it will still take at least a few minutes to get checked in and to the Dining Room...

    Concierge lunch is from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

  8. As a check-in agent, I have yet to be able to check in a passenger with a boarding pass on his/her phone, tablet, or any electronic device. Passengers should complete on line check in, and print his/her boarding pass at least three days prior to sail date, and present to check-in agent along with other documentation. It will be an easier check-in process both for the passenger and the check in agent.

  9. We are on the 3/18 Silhouette cruise leaving from Terminal 29, but not till late as ship is dropping passengers in Miami before sailing to Ft. Laud. Our email from Celebrity said check-in would begin at 2 and embarkation would begin at 2. Any recommendations on how to handle this? I usually try to get to the port by 11:30 for a 12 embarkation. Would it be smart to get to the port around 1:30 or will we be at the back of the line? Anyone experienced this yet? Thanks. Marilyn

1:30 would be great in this special circumstance.

  10. I'm printing out our setsail passes for 3 cabins. Two has the muster station listed and one does not. Do I have to call Royal or can this be fixed at check-in?

Do not worry. The check in agent at the pier will reprint the setsail pass for the cabin without the muster station printed. It just takes a minute.

  11. Sailing in June with my husband, son, father and brother. My dad is older and sometimes has some medical issues and sometimes gets out of breath when walking long distances or uphill. Recently saw a video showing what appeared to be a very long and uphill walk to board HOS (looked like a series of ramps). Can someone tell me if this is the case?

Once onboard he shouldn't have a problem b/c he can walk and sit at his own pace. I'm just concerned about the boarding process and don't want him starting the vacation out of breath and frustrated.

You can request wheelchair assistance right at the terminal entrance from an associate wearing a green neon vest. You may have to wait in a holding area until one is available, however. They will then wheel the passenger along with his/her guests on to the ship, after check in.

  12. Thanks for responding. Do you know if port parking is in a covered garage?

Terminal 18 is an outdoor parking lot. Terminals 25 and 29 utilize the mid-port indoor garage. Terminal 25 garage is across the street from the terminal so you can walk after parking. You will have to take a provided shuttle from the Mid-Port Garage to Terminal 29.

  13. When RCI started putting 3 free bar drinks (same type of drinks, same hours as in the Diamond Lounge) on Diamond SeaPasses a few years ago, no drinks in dining rooms was part of the deal. Their ship, their rules, and as this was considerably more generous than the previous "in DL only" rule I didn't look a gift horse in the mouth. I won't argue whether it makes sense to extend this to MDR, but have always accepted that is the way it is.

Agree. I never look a gift horse in the mouth. I always say thank you.
