  1. Hi,

Am a first timer using airport transfer from Newark, NJ Airport to Cruise Port.  I would appreciate if someone let me know where the guests waiting area before boarding the bus.  Am not familiar with Newark, NJ Airport.  Also, my flight is arriving at 6:30 am and the RC Usher may not be at the airport at that time.  Thank you so much for all inputs.

    Best regards.

  2. I have done this several times and on all occasion OBCs were transferred from cancelled cruise to future cruise reservations.  Phone 888-305-4626 and they will help you.  On one occasion OCB was transferred twice.  On another note; Travel Protection are transferable to future cruise if the intended cruise to be protected is cancelled.  Good luck......

  3. Hi drsel,

Honestly speaking, it all boils down to personal preference.  I've cruised with Norwegian, Carnival, Celebrity and Royal Caribbean.  I prefer Royal Caribbean for many reasons acceptable to me.  All them cruise lines companies has two primary goals.  Make profits (lots of profits)  and please the guests.  It is a difficult goal to achieve both but they try and successful achieving these goals.  Of course, guests satisfactions  varies from different individuals and because of this personal preference prevail.

  4. Hi,

My experience after reaching Diamond status, several cruise I booked on-line with RCCL website have varying discounts for Balcony.  In my observation the discount is dependent on the published cruise rate at the time when reservations are made.  Discount may increase when cruise rates are increased when it get closed to sailing.

    Cheers,

  5. Mcascade,

This cruise I call "Endless Lobsters".  Wife and I did it once and will do again.  Fresh Lobsters are served in every port therefore; we feasted on Lobsters at all port of call.  Lobster was on the menu during Captain's Night and of course I ordered Lobster.  That may have been the last RCI served lobsters in MDR.  Of course, Lobster is still in the menu for a fee.  If you love lobsters you chose the right cruise.

  6. I stand corrected, I think the Complimentary Steam Room is available from Voyager Class and Smaller Ships.

I for one truly dislike that guest are to pay to use Steam and Sauna Rooms on Ships bigger than Voyager Class.

  7. While it is true RCCL doesn't share holder's benefit with next or future cruises OBC, RCCL will give the difference if the share holder benefits is greater than the next or future cruises OBC. It is disappointing RCCL stop combining in 2008. We, the share holders, should make noise to request combining of benefits and OBC's is returned to original practice.

  8. Unforgettable!!! My lovely wife and I were on Rhapsody from Ensanada to Honolulu in September 2007 for 10 nights......it was an unforgettable experience. So sorry Rhapsody will no longer in the fleet of RCI. Rhapsody is a beautiful ship so as others in RCI fleet.

  9. Unsure if there are threads associated with Northern Lights or Aurora Borialis....my search failed to find one.

The question is: What cruise to take to enable guests see the Northern Lights or Aurora Borealis while on ship or on land? To see Aurora Borealis on a shore excursion is acceptable and land tour is not an option.

Thank you in advance to all respondents........

  10. I had wished that RCI is clear to indicate the ship's class that require pre-bookings on entertainment.

his information must be included in RCI's website. The booking confirmation document must include a reminder that the ship the guests are booked is reminded to pre-book their entertainment they desire to see.

Having this information eliminates further confusions.....

    Simply my two cent's opinion......

  11. Without airfares, taxes and port fees, under $100 per day for an inside cabin is considered a good deal. It is even better if perks are offered and included.

This is the bench mark I used to determine if a deal is good, better and best......

No preference booking with TA or Cruise Line.......

  12. Let it be known that Stateroom 7180 on Celebrity Solstice is over the Theater. Hanged on the ceiling of the theater are 6 huge speakers directly under the floor of stateroom 7180.

These huge speakers are actively used during rehearsal and actual live shows and other functions held in the theater. These speakers produced stumping bass noise is very audible inside the cabin.

Any attempts to sleep, nap and rest during rehearsal and shows is impossible. Can't speak about neighboring cabins

Avoid Stateroom no. 7180 by all means on Celebrity Solstice....

Now you know that you know that you know.......

  15. My first with Celebrity Solstice and will be on-board soon on an 18 nights journey from Sydney to Honolulu. RCI big ships has Promenade Cafe on Promenade Deck that serves cafe and pastries all day-24 hours. Wonder is something similar in Solstice. If it does where is it located? Thank you so much.......
