we will be there Easter Sunday, will the arts and crafts show be open?
Should be open, only rain cancels.
Had done a diy whale watching tour? Any detail would be appreciated.Whale tours:

Been to PV many times and we always go to the Walmart first thing off the ship. I buy Mexican and Costa Rican coffee(read the labels) and Carol buys soft drinks to take back to the ship. Cheaper than on the ship.

Oh, and yes - we have no pier so you will be tendering.
You will be tendering and there is too a pier right at the end of State St. with restaurants and a smattering of shops plus a maritime museum.

Is the Mission within walking distance of the pier?
There is a shuttle(25 cents per person) that takes you from the Pier to within a half mile of the Mission. It runs up and down State Street.
Waterfront shuttle runs from the pier to the SB Zoo and to the Harbor. Brophy's (at the Harbor) is a good place for fish and chips/fresh fish.

Any input re: trying to get a room in Seattle for first weekend of Sept., one night, via Priceline? Is it too late to try? Any suggestions? I've never reserved w/Priceline.
Nyllas,
There were posts in this thread earlier about Seattle and Priceline. Wade through them and you might get some tips re prices. Just be particular about the city area you want to stay in and be persistent. Hotwire.com has good prices also.
Good luck

After one rejection, we got the Crowne Plaza in San Pedro for $65 plus tax for one night (11/25) pre-cruise. About half for the season.

I went on biddingfortravel 1st to try and educate myself. I've now tried for almost a week for a 4 star in Long Beach for 10/19-21. Bid all the way up to 110, no acceptance. Even when I wait much more than 24 hours it tells me I have already bid on the same areas. I thought after 24 hours you start "clean". Can anyone explain this? Also, almost everything I've read on CC and the other travel websites seem to indicate I should be able to get a 4* in the area for 90. or less, and I have added the other 3 areas in a I try to rebid and raise each time. I even tried changing the dates to one night only to be able to get more rebids. I also created a second account in my husbands name using a different email and different credit card number, but it still gives me the same "you have bid this area before".
Thanks for any advice anyone can offer.
Yup, try removing your cookies. This should remove the 24 hour limitations.

What to do in Santa Barbara

The Presidio is at the intersection of Canon Perdido St. and Santa Barbara St.
Walk from the end of the pier(Cabrillo Street) 9 blocks up State Street to Canon Perdido St., turn right, go 2 blocks to the Presidio.
The trolley picks up at the end of the pier if you want to ride. The blocks are about 500ft. long. The total walk would be about a mile one way.
