  1. The balcony door may have been the culprit on our one hot night & your right abt it being warm when the door was open (we normally only left it open during the day when we were in a port but not for long. It was way too windy to leave it open while moving! Lol) But our friends were in an interior room across from us & it ran very warm. She had a thermometer in her room but I can't remember what she said it was reading. The fan from customer service helped tho. We still had an awesome cruise so no worries!!

  2. We just got back from sailing on her this past Saturday & had a fantastic cruise!! We were worried because of all the bad reviews we read but honestly we didn't see any of the stuff ppl have been complaining abt. The buffet was on the small side but there are so many other food options, that wasn't really a problem. The only thing negative I can say is the ship was very warm. Some of the indoor areas got very, very warm @ times. We had a problem one night with our cabin being warm but our traveling companions had to ask for fans in both their cabins because it got fairly hot every night. Customer service supplied those almost immediately upon asking. The service was outstanding! Our room steward was one of the best we've ever had. Jaime was such an energetic CD. The dining room staff was top notch. The bar staff on lido & serenity were also probably the best we've ever had. Don't let the negative comments that others have said worry you. Try her for yourself & form your own opinion. We would definitely cruise on her again in a heartbeat!!!! Happy cruising :)

  3. We were in 11017 & our friends were in 11015 & 11007. I read that the sliding doors have a sensor on them & the AC won't work if it's not shut all the way. Dk how accurate that is but I did enjoy the balcony @ night before bed so if that is true, maybe I didn't shut it good that one night?? They don't give you any problems @ all if you have to call & ask for a fan tho. Enjoy your cruise :)

  4. We are just off the Sunshine this past Saturday & the whole ship ran really warm!! We had a spa balcony & one night we thought the heat had been turned on. Our traveling companions that were in the balcony next to us & an inside across from us, each asked for a fan because their cabins were like ovens every night. Customer Service did provide those for them almost immediately after they asked. We only had problems in our cabin that one night but noticed the warm temps on the rest of the ship the entire 7 days. This was the warmest ship we've ever been on but that would be our only complaint! Have a GREAT cruise :o)

  5. On our second cruise we did a guaranty inside. It was a horrible room, last cabin on deck 4. Our cabin shook and shuddered every time we entered a port. Ear plugs didn't even help. Drawers opened and out stuff was always everywhere. That was in 2001 and we have not dared to do another guaranty. We booked a spa interior on our upcoming cruise. We booked an interior on deck 7 for our DS and his friend and our cruise friends booked a balcony on deck 8. Our friends ended up changing to a guaranty balcony and have almost $1000 in obc. We upgraded the DS to a guaranty balcony and he has almost $160 in obc. Lots of price drops if you were willing to give up your cabin. We were not. Cabins were just assigned and both parties are in spa balconies right across the hall from us!! We are psyched that everyone will be close together, but imagine our aggravation that we paid the highest price, have 0 obc and the smallest cabin! But would be gamble it all for the chance of getting a bad cabin? No way. I am pretty sure we would have ended up in the bunk bed cabins on deck 1. In which case my DH surely would have thrown me overboard. LOL My cruise friends are sure they all got spa cabins because our reservations are linked. Btw, you will never find us in the casino either. :D

Not only did we get assigned a spa balcony across the hall from the above poster (our dear cruising friends), her DS & friend were assigned right next to us in a connecting room! If its not because all 3 of our reservations are linked, than that is a HUGE coincidence to say the least!! lol. This was our first time doing a guarantee cabin & we were so worried about what we would get but we are super stoked about the nice OBC we got along with the excellent cabin assignment!!!! Thanks Carnival :D

  6. Our friends who we are cruising with are up to $858 in OBC for their balcony. They did have to give up the cabin they had booked for a guaranty but at this rate it's like one of them is going for free. We booked an inside spa and those have just gone up in price so no OBC for us. But I was able to move my DS and his friend from an inside to a guaranty balcony with $78 OBC back. Great deal for them!

We are the friends travelerblue mentioned & I just got our 2nd price drop of the day. We are now up to $898!! This has become so much fun for me!! I keep expecting them to give me some lame excuse & tell me no. I did send in a form for one of the drops & it was denied but I immediately called in & was insistent that they give me the rate that was showing on my computer screen & after being transferred to 3 different people, it finally worked....persistence is the key!! Now I always call in first & so far, so good! We are extremely happy :D
