  1. Wondering if it would be worth it to upgrade to the Haven in the same suite type. I know the Jewel doesn't have a dedicated Haven restaurant for dinner and the regular suite gets us breakfast and lunch in the restaurant anyway, correct? Any other benefits that might make it worth the $1800 to upgrade?

What about the Owners Suites on deck 9 and 10?  The two balconies look interesting, especially for an Alaskan cruise!  Not sure how much we would use the Haven area though if not on the same deck. Any recommendations or thoughts?

  2. Thanks ggTexasGal. Just stressed I guess that this cruise originally 2020 and canceled and rebooked twice won't go either.  Got a lot of money in the cruisetour at this point and worried about the Canada aspect, which I know could change a dozen times by August. Lol

just concerned that I can book things for later cruises, just not the Alaska one, and wondered if I was the only one experiencing issues.

  3. Is anyone else having trouble booking Alaska excursions or dining packages? We are booked on Jewel cruise for August 1st. We have one ship excursion booked and don't want to book anymore as we are booking locally but it worries me that nothing for this cruise can be booked right now. At first thought it might be the Canadian excursions but it is all of them including dining packages, gifts, etc. I'm worried I won't be able to book specialty dining either when time comes. Can you call and do that and is there a different number than the main number that has you on hold forever?

  4. Just back from Seattle - Alaska cruise on Carnival Legend. I couldn’t get a definitive answer on Carnival participating before we left and wanted to let others know that at least as of last week (late June) they are NOT. I asked numerous people at guest services and was repeatedly told that Carnival is not associated with the port and they do not use that service.

Disappointed in this and having to keep our luggage all day for an 10 pm flight.

  5. We plan to visit both of these on our cruise in August. Just trying to figure out the best order to do this. We will be the 2nd of two ships in port that day and taking taxis on our own. Should we do coral world first and then spend the rest of our time at the beach (will chairs and umbrellas still be available) or should we "set up camp" on the beach first and then take a break later to visit coral world. Just not sure of the logistics or layout of everything. Thanks :)
