  1. My luck this morning. Credit card declined all my cards. Ugh. It just won't work for me. I have the money but they won't accept it

I had the problem of trying to use a different shipping address then my billing address and it will decline. Maybe that's your problem?

  2. I purchased without reading the fine print (my bad) and noticed that it takes 10-14 business days. I leave on the Vista on Sunday. Fingers crossed that somehow they arrive earlier. I can't find any numbers to contact them with to see if expediting it is possible. Called Carnival with no luck. Send an email to the daily deals email but got an auto response from someone that will be out of office in "2012." So we will see what happens, if not I might try and sell them. I do not know when my next Carnival cruise will be after this.

Does anyone have any other ideas?

How much did you order? I might be interested.

Cant stand deck 5 at night. It ruins the balcony experience. All lit up like Christmas. Forward may be better since deck 5 thins out there.

This is exactly what I am looking for. It seems from your view that the bridge isn't too big. But 8233 is several cabins closer. Hopefully it's not too bad.

Do you remember if you had a sign by the door that said keep the curtains closed at night if you have the cabin lights on?

  4. I am looking for pictures of the balcony view on 8233 or similar location on the Magic, but if you have them from the Dream or Breeze that works too. I am mainly looking for pictures from the balcony to see how close the bridge seems and how much of deck 5 is visible when you look down. Also, I am curious if this cabin is one of those cabins subjected to the "Please keep the window curtain at night time closed for the safety of navigation". Thanks in advance!

  5. This is my second time sailing Carnival and I still don't fully understand price drops. I sail in September on the Magic and I have only seen price increases. I understand that not every cruise would drop, but what is the time frame? Do they usually only happen in the last few months before the sail date? Thanks for any answers.

  6. I was looking into the same sort of thing. What StolidCruiser posted I think is the official fact sheet from carnival. However, I have read reviews of people saying they enjoyed opening their balconies and they listed rooms that were not on the fact sheet as being connected balconies. I think there is a way for all of them to be opened (if they need to clean), but it could create obstructions like blocking a door or portion of your view. Being my first time on the Magic, I wasn't going to chance it and went with what was written. I have asked this to a few CSRs and they all have said that's a really good question, but no one has ever asked that which I can hardly believe.

  7. Does anyone know what the policy is on cabin changes that are for categories lower than the one currently booked?

    Thanks

According to the customer rep(s) I talked to you can't downgrade unless you cancel which for me would have penalties because I booked early saver. They will only let you upgrade. I ran into this because after I booked we have some family that also got a balcony and we wanted to have connecting rooms. They would let us stay in the same category or upgrade, but not downgrade.

  8. Wonder if they will update their website. Copied from Carnival.com FAQs.

We offer three different types of plans that can be purchased for either a 24 hour period or for the entire length of the cruise at a discount - price for voyage plans vary by length of cruise:

    Social ($5 USD per day)

    Value ($16 USD per day)

    Premium ($25 USD per day)

  9. We were on the dream last year- i believe it was 8424 and 8428, but they were connecting rooms inside and we were also able to get the balcony divider opened. They were able to open it outward. I'll have to look and see if i have any pictures.

Interesting if you were in 8424/8428. Carnival says that 8424 balcony partition connects to 8420. So is it that every balcony can open it just depends on whether or not it blocks the door to the cabin? I just moved our rooms last night, and I hope they didn't restrict my options based on incorrect information. I am now in 8233/8237 and they told me the balconies connect.

  10. I believe that the partitions can be opened.

Sorry that I cannot share an opinion about connecting staterooms. However, I have cruised aboard the Magic a few times, the Dream last year and the Breeze several weeks ago. I am booked again for the Breeze 09/11/2016. I enjoyed the Magic and the Breeze. If the Dream was my only choice....I WOULD STAY HOME!

I called carnival yesterday regarding this on the magic because this is 2 of the rooms they offered to me because I want connecting rooms. The CSR said the rooms are connecting inside, but the balcony connect on the opposite sides of each room.

  11. Also just because the rooms are side by side does not mean that the balcony dividers can open to each other. It depends on the ship and Carnival can check which cabins balconies can be connected to each other.

Thanks for pointing this out. I called Carnival and found out the rooms offered were connecting inside but not on the balcony. The CSR I got this time told me there is no occupancy restriction on this trip so I could book any room I want, but there is still that small chance they could move me, but they would need to give me something comparable or upgrade me.

  12. I did book the early saver so we would have the $50pp fee to cancel. I don't think its a big enough deal to cancel and lose money to have staterooms next to each other, but I also think it's a bit crazy it's that hard to move two cabins so they are next to each other. They gave me one option, but it moves us all the way fwd and I had originally booked all the way aft. I may have to call in time to time and see whats available. There wasn't even an option on higher decks that would give carnival more money. Oh well!

  13. I hope someone can help me. I booked about 10 days ago, my in-laws booked yesterday. We have rooms a few doors down from each other, but I would like to move next door so we can extend the balcony. When I called carnival I basically was shut down because they can't move a 2 person reservation to a 3/4 person room which seems to be all the available rooms in the area. If we were doing the initial booking it should I could pick those rooms though. They also can't down grade me so moving down a deck is not at option. I had them look at upgrades, but they still didn't have any 2 person rooms and both of our reservations are 2 people. Is this really the policy? Our cruise is still 390+ days out I am surprised they can't accommodate us. Does someone have a good PVP that they could recommend or another way around this? I am baffled this is even an issue this far out.
