  1. Good day, for the last 2 years we have not been able to get Outerbridges Pepper Sherry sauce anywhere in Bermuda.  I was told that there was problems/issues sourcing the ingredients since covid.  Does anyone know if that has changed and its now available?  I am going again in June and was looking forward to purchasing some more!  Many thanks.....

  2. Can I ask a question on this please?  I am not a casino person, so I’m quite confused.  I have $200 obj from celebrity NFC.  Can I go to the casino, on Summit, put in $200 on a slot machine against my room, spin a few times and then cash out, probably about $175 or so?  To me if I get locked out of the casino for the rest of the cruise, it wouldn’t matter at all.  I would just like to take the NFC as cash!  Am I missing something?

  3. I was on an NCL cruise 2 weeks ago.  I filled out the special needs form for an extension plug and distilled water.  I received an answer telling me to take my own extension cord, so I printed that email and packed the cord in my carryon in case I had to prove it’s legitimate.  I did not have distilled water waiting in the cabin, however the cabin steward cheerfully brought it within minutes of me requesting it!  Happy cruising!

  4. Thank you so very much for the update!  I am still waiting for the chat person online!  I was number 30, so it is now down to #5 and I am going to add in LeBistro for a second night!  I do have La Cucina and Cagneys booked, so clearly our tastebuds are in sync!

  5. Mykonos is a small island and has several rentable options.  If you drive around, you will find beaches, small villages etc.  Its' lovely!  then walk through town at the end of your day when its not quite so crowded!  enjoy a leisurely lunch at a taverna!

  6. Greetings and many thanks for the updates!  I honestly would prefer Le Bistro and yes, it would be my 2nd booking at that restaurant.  I wasn't aware that I couldn't book twice, so I will take your advice and use the chat feature!  Many thanks.....

When you say that you haven't been able to get Le Bistro, is it showing as sold out, or can you just not book it?

I ask because there is an issue at the moment where no restaurant can be booked online more than once. If you are struggling to get your second reservation there, but it is showing as available then you can book it by calling (or using the online chat I believe).

You could also wait until boarding, as long as you will be boarding relatively early.

  8. Greetings, we are on the Getaway, Sept 3 departure.  I do have 4 specialty dinners, 2 FAS, and 2 with Latitudes.  I usually book Le Bistro for 2 nights, but this time I cant seem to get it, so I thought we would try Ocean Blue.  I do see that they have a couple of upcharge items, but my question really is, is Ocean Blue good?  and are the included with package choices good?  I appreciate any and all feedback, many thanks.....

  9. #juicyjuju - how can this sailing be happening?  since the US has banned cruises, then the ship will not be in our ports!  Shouldn't your travel agent be telling you this?  something doesn't sound quite right here..........can you please come back and update us a bit more on this?  I am waiting to be cancelled on a transatlantic for June 7th, perhaps you may want to wait a couple more days?  didn't someone say that we may hear a bit more by the end of the week?   many thanks....

  10. Greetings, well I am relieved to see that I am not the only one for the June 7th sailing!  I have been combing these boards and the Cunard site twice daily for updates - only to find the same old information.  I am hoping for this to be cancelled in order to obtain a cash refund - I will most likely book for next year, however, I would prefer the full refund and full flexibility to book whomever I choose!  Its really a shame that the companies are dragging this out.

    Yes, that's Alla's policy.

And Alla's is a reliable and responsible organisation.

But a lot of travel businesses are likely to go under because of Covid 19, and altho she is one of the biggest tour operators in St Petersburg, if her business is hit hard (and what travel organisation won't be? :classic_sad:) she may not be able to refund.

If you pay by credit card, you card issuer will (probably) be liable - and altho Visa & Mastercard are likely to take a lot of travel hits I certainly don't expect them to fold as a consequence.

Travel insurance may cover this as well, assuming that you already have it in place - a lot of insurers are re-writing their policies at the moment and may not cover Covid-19 consequences for new business. Best to read the small-print to see if pandemics come into the same category as nuclear war etc.

If you're not 100% sure that you'd be refunded by your credit card or travel insurance you may want to switch to another St Petersburg tour operator which doesn't require payment up-front (assuming there are any now). They're all very good.

Or even, contrary to my usual philosophy, stick with a ship-sponsored tour.

Judging by the numbers coming out of Wuhan, the rest of China, and South Korea, the virus seems to have peaked there & been declining for the past week or so. Cause for hope that it may soon peak in places like Europe.

Greetings, I wanted to come back to let John Bull specifically know the details of 'our' lottery scene.  I did indeed purchase the lottery ticket and then promptly forgot to check it that night!  I changed hand-bags and found the ticket, so here are the details:  we had 1 number, it was the 9, we didn't win a thing, not a thin dime, nothing, just the chance to do it again.  One of these days I will replay it and will happily let you know!

Also, I am still awaiting Celebrity to officially cancel my May 16th Baltic cruise out of Southampton.  I understand that the Silhouettes' transatlantic has been cancelled, so fully expect the May 16th to be cancelled since the ship clearly wont be there!

Stay well and well washed everyone!

  12. Greetings, I too was waiting for some type of relaxed award re-deposit.  I received an email from United re: my upcoming flight to London, Heathrow (part of a larger trip involving a family reunion and 2 cruises).  I was able to cancel the flight and redeposit the miles (with no fee)  and get a refund for the taxes (on credit card).  The miles are already back in my account!  Kudos to United!

  13. Greetings, we are scheduled for the Silhouette this May, and visiting St Petersburg was my main reason for the cruise!  I have learned that a major economic summit has been cancelled in St Petersburg due to the risk/un wanted risk of possible infection to attendees.  (several newspapers are carrying this info).  I am wondering how much longer I will stand the agony of indecision and consequently pull the plug.  I hate to be a worrywart, and for the most part have been convinced that this has been a Media Feeding Frenzy, but since so many sailings are impacted.............well......For us, this 2 week cruise is part of a 5 week trip between the UK, France, (this sailing) and then a transatlantic back to New York!

So if anyone has the proverbial crystal ball - please share your best guesses, along with this weeks' winning lottery number!  stay well everyone

  14. Good day everyone!  we are embarking our first Cunard crossing June 7th.  We are experienced cruisers, just Cunard newbies!  I have carefully combed many pages of information and I carefully selected a sheltered balcony to enjoy the balcony despite any weather!

My question lays with the CPAP and provided distilled water - does Cunard provide the distilled water if I notify/request them ahead of time?  I ask since this will make me have to go out of my way on embarkation day to purchase it, most other cruise lines that we have sailed simply provide it.  So any recent experience would be gratefully appreciated.  Thank you.

  15. Good day, I am hoping to get some information pertinent to the fact that we are arriving on Celebrity and I have looked up the pier and it will be Filipstaad.  Apparently that pier is inconvenient for travelling about on public transport.  we were planning to take the ferry to the Fram museum, I am also planning to download the Oslo pass app and trigger it just before arrival!  But if someone could help me with logistics of getting to the Fram from our pier I would be grateful.  Husband can't walk huge distances, so would like to save his legs for actual sightseeing, not traversing the port/pier!  thanks to all.......

  16. Good day, we are looking at a 9 day out of Baltimore in July.  I am deliberately picking this ship due to the smaller size, I find the large ships just too crowded.  We have a 14 grandson and our son and d-I-l coming along.  We are all ok with ship, the size, the itinerary, but I am a little concerned about the teen program.  Can someone who has recently used their teen program on that particular ship give me any thoughts?  I have read some of the recent reviews and they are pretty negative, and also don’t mention the teen program.  I would appreciate any help!  Thanks.

  17. Greetings, and again, a huge thank you!  apparently my last message wasn't sent, I think I wasn't logged in! (duh).  So as of this weekend, Brittany ferries have the fast ferry doing Portsmouth/Cherbourg run for the 1st week of June.  That's bit of a shame, but still very doable.  We shall rent a car at the port (Cherbourg) and I am leaning towards making Bayeux our base and run our days from there, it seems as though the return from Cherbourg does not depart until 17:00 so that allows for a nice morning, followed by lunch, then drive to Cherbourg, return the car etc.

An idea that I would like to run by you:  take the ferry, at Cherbourg take the train to Bayeux, spend the afternoon exploring there, the next day do a full day tour with Overlord (perhaps) and then the following day pick up a rental car and keep it till the end at Cherbourg!

I could split my time in France and do 2 nights/2 nights.......but we don't like any less than 2 nights anywhere if we can help it........Many thanks........
