Michael's Club is a great venue for those lucky enough to call it their private club.

 

The Concierge at present is Sylvia Schmidt.

 

At times the concierge will plan entertainment for the daily tea and some evening events.

Does this mean that MC is now restricted for some reason? On my last Celebrity cruise on the Infinity in 2011, it was open to all.

The main event was the belly dancer. Belly dancing is not part of UAE's history, but I guess tourists expect to see it.

 

 

The dancer was apparently from Russia and was very "energetic" - to say the least!

Was this the BBQ meal with Dune Bashing? Don't see any food??

Luminaire is restricted to suite guests. Blu is restricted to Aqua Class Guests Concierge guests have a special perk of dining in the MDR for lunch on embarkation day. The MDR is closed to everyone else on embarkation day. MDR , Oceanview café have no upcharge although apparently there are some optional upcharge items appearing in the MDR on some ships.

I just wish there was somewhere on their website detailing different classes of service...does anyone know where this is explained? (I never experienced this before on Seabourn, Oceania, or Viking Sea....I guess I should have researched this better before committing but I didn't know where).

Bistro on 5 is also a charge restaurant. Gelato has a cost of around $US6 per scoop. There are also some charges for some food in the Aqua Spa café. Café Al bacio - drinks are at a cost but the pastries are free. Buffet and MDR are free

Is the Blu restaurant mentioned in this diary also available for anyone or does this ship have different dining rooms based on your cabin class? (I assume the Luminae is just for Penthouse inhabitants.) From reading this do I assume that just the MDR and the Ocean View Cafe & Grille are the only restaurants available to all without upcharge.

That was an amazing diary....I really have a feel for the ship (will sail from Singapore-Abu Dhab April 2). I have one lingering question. Having never sailed on the Connie, where do I find out which areas, cafes, gelatos, etc. cost extra. Is Luminae only for Penthouse Cabin occupants? I know the OL, Tuscan Grille are specialty (upcharge) but not anything else. Thx for your input.

Thanks for the great review -- am leaving next week on the repositioning cruise-Valparaiso to Fort Lauderdale and was concerned about the ship--you set them all to rest ..thanks. One question--did you do the beverage plan or not? You seemed enjoy your cocktails and exercise program ;) which I will be sure to copy. I think you are sailing but hope you get back to me.
