  1. We normally book two cabins for my husband, my self, 16 yr & 22 yr old. But want to cruise the breakaway on the best price. The Breakaway has the 3rd & 4th person in the cabin just pay the taxes and ports fees on this date. So my question is with the mini suite room is the sofa bed a pullout queen for the extra two people. I heard that the couch only fits one and then the have a cot for the other person unless i book the family mini suite to have the couch and a pull down. Please help....

  2. We were on these handicap obstructive view cabins on our cruise may 2015. Two of them, 3 in one cabin and two in the other. rooms and bathrooms are very large. Shower is a curtain in side of the sliding door for wheel chairs. The only problem we had was the emergency switches are to easily tripped. When this happens they will call before sending some one down. Great view from rooms, life boats really aren't to bad from blocking your view. Our rooms where very close to the 24 hour restaurant and bar that made it great for late night snacks. You have to eat there and can not take it back to your room. They have a great hot breakfast made to order with out having to go to the main dinning room or the buffet. Would stay in those rooms again in a heart beat!

  3. We have cruise carnival and NCL for about 12 cruises and wanted to try Celebrity Summit and want your options on if my kids that are 16 & 22 would be board or are there things to do. They like to play mini golf, basket ball, shuffle board and go to the shows. If any one could tell me how many pools or slides they have would be great too. I normally research everything to death, but this would be last minute and i need to book today, only one room left in the category we would like. Just don't want to spend the extra and have my kids complaining and then have buyers remorse.

  4. We just got off the gem two weeks ago and had to ok deck 8 cabins. They were 8096 & 8098, I was in 8098 and the window is just above the life boats. It wasn't a bad view at all, was in the room 8096 and can not remember if it was the same or not. Both rooms had a lot of room because they are handicapped rooms. Large bath room with not shower doors. It was a shower curtain for A wheel chair to come in.

  5. Went to make reservations for Cagneys on our cruise, on the Gem 05/23/15 and it no longer shows an option. It was there last week and a was checking to see who in my party wanted to go before it made the ressie. I should have just booked it. I have seen on the cc boards that there was talk of it coming off the UDP on June 1st, but obviously it is starting earlier.

  6. We cruised about 7 years ago on the NCL Dawn was given a coupon booklet to use. Most on them we did not use but a few seem useful to us. We are cruising in about a month on the Gem and i called my TA to ask if we would be getting one and she said that they do not do that any more. My questions is she right, i though a read some threads in the last couple of weeks where people did get some from their TA and used them for the Spec. Restaurants and would like to do the same. Some times i think that TA's tend to treat you like a less priority after the trip is booked and paid for.

  7. I made my dinner reservations for the main dinning room already on line for the week. But now that the Orchard Garden is at no charge, I went on line to change one of my meals to that location. But it doesn't even show it at all list for a charge or non-charge. So I called NCL and the rep looked up and said he doesn't show it either and that the percentage of reservations must be full and I would have to make the reservation when I get on the ship. Does that sound right to you guys. I saw it listed on line on Friday..... could it just be because they are changing it to a free option that it was pulled until the changes could be made on line? What are any of your thoughts?

  8. You might have already got the answer but I will tell you what happen to me:I printed off my e-docs when they became available and the same thing "UBP wasn't there" So I called NCL and they said let me log and check for you it should be there. They found the same thing I saw, "NOTHING". So she looked further into the situation and found it listed some where else but not on the e-docs. So She e-mailed it to me and told me I should have no problems. I made my self a copy and plan on bringing it with me.

  9. I have two boys 6 years apart, when my youngest was 11 I preferred he be with his brother or us, but his older brother didn't always and to do what the younger one want to do. So I would let my 11 year go a what ever activity he wanted as long as he checked back in as soon as it was over. One time the activity ran over and I freaked out that I had not heard from him but did calm down once he was in sight again. Never had any problems but as a parent you worry. My sister -in-law and brother use to let my nephew go alone at the age of 8, and that drove me crazy but not being his parent I couldn't do any thing about it. I was on a ship one time when a group of boys where bulling one kid and I went to the front desk and notified them. Security went right away and took care of it and called there parents to come get the kids and discuss their actions. I feel it also depends on the child and how mature they are.

  10. Haven not been on the Gem yet (will be in may 2015), but was on the NCL Dawn with my husband and two sons about 6 years ago and I would never do a oceanview with four people again. They have the two twins on the floor and the bunk that comes down from one side and then they put a bed in the middle of the 2 lower twins. So you end up with one big bed and three people in it. If I had know that when booking, I would have changed my mind. After that we have been cruising with carnival for 4 years because the rooms & bathrooms are much bigger. We are cruising the Gem soon but in two oceanview cabins. Hope this helps!

  11. I am using a travel agent and I got a notice from her that final payment is March 9th which would be 75 days out. I thought NCL policy was 60 days. I like to keep checking up to final payment day to see if the price drops to make changes before that final payment. I cruised with NCL about 14 years ago and have cruised with carnival since then, now that we can afford to pay a little more we have decided to go back to NCL and not 100% sure of any of the policies. Any info on this would be appreciated? Thanks in advance!

  12. It has been a while since we cruised NCL and wanted to know if the Gem has a laundry room to do some cloths, so I won't have to pack so much for a family of 5. If they do, on what floors, if any one remembers. Thanks ahead for any future answers.

  13. The last NCL cruise was on the Dawn 7 years ago and we have decided to cruise with NCL after 6 cruises with Carnival. When the kids were young it was just more affordable. We are excited to cruise the NCL Gem on May 23 2015 on a 7 day cruise. I am sure there are a lot of changes. My big questions is how many dress up nights are there on a 7 day cruise and which days are they? I am used to getting very dressed up on carnival, me in a fancy cocktail dress and my husband and boys in a full suits, I don't remember it being that dressy on NCL, am I wrong? Please help if you can. We are also bringing a first time cruiser with us and she is very nervous to have the right stuff with her.

  14. I am trying to decide if we should choose the Ultimate Beverage package or the unlimited dining package with our ocean view cabin. I know that my husband would benefit from the Beverage because he likes his beer and wine. I am a cocktail drinker, I like Frozen cocktails, "strawberry daiquiris", would this be included in the list. I saw the word spirits and a list of liquor but it isn't clear on this. I know that souvenir glasses are not included. I could use some help with this. Thanks in advanced for any answers.
