  1. They're currently offering the deluxe drink package at $45/person/day (+18% gratuity) - that can go up when the sale ends. Voom is $15.99/day for surf + stream, 1 device. Ultimate dining package is $216/adult. They also have a deluxe drink + voom for $59 but I think when you add on gratuity it's not really any cheaper.

Anything else you want me to check?

Also they opened up the iFly and Northstar reservations, so those are starting to book up.

Ginger: What is the delux dining package and offers what over regular dining. Also, if they take online reservations for IFly and Northstar does that mean most probable "ideal" times will be sold out by embarkation?

  2. You won't be able to access any of the shore excursion, drink or dining package pricing until you've booked. Which sailing are you looking at? We're on the May 31st 9 day sailing. And I can probably look up the pricing listed in the cruise planner. It can vary by sailing date.

Looking at either your date or one before - May 17th. What are various drink packages (alcohol, softdrink, water or any combination therein). Please also check out the unlimited wifi package. Is there anything else I may have forgotten? As far as excursions go, those are on the RCI website. Greatly appreciated.

  3. Hello to all. First time back here in many years. My family's witch to all inclusive (AI) land resorts but now looking at cruising again. Starting to plan next vacation end of May 2018 and comparing prices of an AI to a Cruise as knowing what are budget will be is important. This is easy with an AI but requires research for a cruise. I am looking at Anthem 9 day out of NJ. I have the cruise price PP as well as the Tipping Portion PP (auto charged to account now) but I am trying to put a dollar amount on anything else that may apply to us. On the Anthem, I have seen there are many activities (rock climbing, flow rider, the globe that hangs over water, water slide, bumper cars/roller skating, Xbox, etc.) what activities are charged as extras and how much is each. Also, how much is the drink package and what is included/excluded. Anything new they are now charging for that I would not have paid for on last LOTS cruise. Finally, how does internet work now? I know my son just got off a majesty cruise and was able to buy unlimited wireless for the 3 days and an incredibly low price. I have tried looking on RCI site and while I was able to find the cruise, tipping and shore excursion prices I cannot find anything else and I need to know to compare.

is there a dedicated site anybody knows of that lists extra prices you can expect for different ships?

Thanks to all in advance and happy to know CC is still as popular as ever.

  4. Just got on board the Allure of the Seas (We have an Owners suite which is AWESOME!) and I was very happy to learn that Unlimited Internet Access is now available on the Allure for $149 a week.

With that package you can have one device connected at a time. I haven't figured out how to log out yet on my laptop so I can log in from my iphone. I tried the old http://1.1.1.1 but that is not working... anyone know how I log out?

Yippie this will save me a lot of $$$. :)

As I am typing this I just got off the phone with RCI. My family has an OS booked on Oasis for next March and I was asking them to confirm this will be on Oasis too. Rep told me there are no flat fee - unlimited access packages available no matter what category you are booked.

    Are you sure about this?

  5. I just spoke with RCI rep and here is what she sent me (the new policy).....

Bringing Alcohol Onboard: Guests are not allowed to bring beer or hard liquor onboard for consumption or any other use. Effective 11/01/12 guests wishing to bring personal wine onboard with them on embarkation day of the cruise may do so, limited to two (2) bottles (of 750ml) per stateroom, but when consumed in any shipboard restaurant, bar, or dining venue, each bottle shall be subject to a corkage fee of $25.00.

  6. I am currently booked in an OS on Oasis. I have my DW & 2 DS (teenagers) with me. Last cruise we had a GS (Liberty) and what we did is even though the sofa is a pull out we still got a roll away too so each of our boys would have their own bed. I was planning on doing the same thing in the OS. I was just looking at prices and it seems inventory for the Crown Loft suite is still quite substantial. In fact, the price for the 4 of us in the CL is about $1000 less that the OS. However, while the interior space is the same square footage, I also know the balcony is a fraction of the size and whereas the balcony in the OS overlooks the ocean in the CL it overlooks the basketball or mini-putt. BUT - the CL does have the 2 bathrooms (bathrooms have not been an issue with us). My first question is to any who have stayed in the CL, can you have the sofa bed opened up and still put a roll away in there? Also, is this really worth it?

  7. Rasul is offered on the Radiance Class and Voyager Class ships.

The Radiance Class ships also have the Thermal Suites which is wonderful as well. It is a room overlooking the ocean with internally heated tiled lounge chairs, a Sauna, Steam Room, Aroma Therapy Room. We have really enjoyed that as well.

Any chance of Rasul being offered on Liberty for next March?

  8. You did not mention the ship. For my family, we had a GS on Freedom last November 2009 and it was myself, DW and 2 x DS's (13 & 15) and we had more than enough room. Did not even use all the drawers. IMHO, if only you and hubby and a 1 year old, I would stay with the GS as size is enough and no less perks than OS. You can go up if money is not an object.

    Enjoy your cruise.

  9. Hi Radio,

I have a BIG favor to ask. We are booked on FOS Western for November. My reservation is for a D1 on deck 6 (6670). I just put a hold on a JS deck 9 (9298) also but I have until Monday to decide if I want to switch to the JS. If you get a chance, could you get photos of each so I can have a look at differences between the 2 including the washroom.

Many thanks and it was a great week reading but I am sure a better week for you living it.

    James

  10. Radio,

We are sailing FOS, also western, November 15th. I was looking at your Labadee photos and many signs say work will be completed for October 2009 including the pier. Do you think everything being worked on will be done for our cruise? If not, what are those items that still may be "iffy" for our cruise.

Thx again for the reports. As you can see from the views and replies to this "big" thread your postings are appreciated by many many people.

  11. Hi Radio,

My family is doing same cruise and itinerary this November and looking forward to your "blog".

Maybe Radio cannot answer all questions but will she be continuing her reports as threads on this posting or will she start new threads for each posting.

I just want to know where to keep looking. Also, is the hotel she is staying at closer than the Raddisson Resort as notes on this board have told me the Raddisson is the closest.

    James
