Hi everyone:
Another dumb question from the newbie: I'm going on the Epic, Spa minisuite room.....do I need to pack my robe or do they provide robes for us?
Thank you!
Bill
Are robes provided on Pride of America??

You only need to book show on the newer ships, so you don't need to do anything.
Thanks for your reply.

Do you have to reserve a spot to see a show, We are sailing POA in March and interested in seeing the Jersey Boys. Do we have to reserve in advance to see this show??

Great review, thanks for posting!

There are quite a few posts on the "Hawaii" board... also several reviews in the "Reviews" section. There's a fairly decent cross-section of opinions, so I wouldn't take them too seriously.
I'll be boarding in less than 2 weeks... will be posting a detailed review upon my return.
Thanks for your reply. Look forward to reading your review.

Thanks for your reply. We have booked a GTY balcony cabin. Being on deck 11 with the buffet nearby sounds very convenient.:)
I see that you took this cruise in 2013. Would be interested to know what you liked/disliked about the cruise and the ship. Not too many posts about this cruise or ship. Thanks.

I am trying to remember, and I don't think there were on BA cabins on deck 11. Of course, the buffet was on the same deck; so I never would have used the coffee maker.

Are there coffee makers in the balcony cabins on the Pride of America??

Great review racingraysswimom. You mention you stayed at the Outrigger. Any comments about your accommodations? Some reviews not very good. I know they are subjective. But since you were just there - thought I'd ask your opinion. Thanks.

Will be cruising March, 2015. Looking for recommendations for one night pre cruise hotel before cruise. Any information will be appreciated.

I responded to your post on this topic over on the Hawaii board where you commented about the Outrigger. Please take a look at the website called Trip Advisor, sister site of Cruise Critic. You will find tons of reviews for every hotel ranked #1 and on down. If you truly must have an airport hotel you should be able to find it there. I will bet that all of the airport hotels are ranked at the bottom or very close. Why not stay near the beach where you can get out and walk around and see the sights? It is a once in a lifetime chance to see something beautiful. You can get from the airport to the Waikiki area very inexpensively.
Thanks again for your response. When I posted this, I was trying to start a "new thread" to gather even more information. Apparently I didn't do it correctly

We will be sailing on Pride of America in March, 2015.
Looking for recommendations for hotel for one night. Prefer hotel at or near airport. Thanks or any information.

I am staying at the The Outrigger Waikiki September 2015 for 3 days after our cruise on POA. I was saving almost £210 staying at the Outrigger than the Hilton so Outrigger it was. It is dated but I could not care because it is a base for us.
Considering Outrigger but the couple we are traveling with read some not so good reviews on this hotel.

There are some good private shuttles for just your party which will get you from the airport to a Waikiki Beach hotel for around $13 pp. Hawaii 23 and Johnnie Cab are two which come to mind. Roberts Tours also provides excellent airport pickup, but there will be several people in the vehicle and drop off at more than one hotel. But, they meet you at the luggage carrousel and take your luggage to the vehicle for you. All the ones mentioned will also provide hotel to peir shuttle as well.
Thank you for info.

No hotels in Waikiki have shuttles from airport or pier. Hotels in airport are in a very industrial area with freeway noise and airport noise. Just figure cost of taxis or shared shuttles into your vacation budget. Airport hotels are NOT the way to get into the spirit of Aloha!
Any recommendations for hotels?

We will be cruising to Hawaii in March, 2015 and are looking for a hotel at or near the airport for one night before our cruise.
Did some research and have found that not all hotels have a shuttle to their hotel, would really prefer this. Understand cost for a cab is around $13 to a few of the hotels I have researched (Ramada Plaza and Best Western).
Also have been told there is no shuttle to pier from hotels. Cost for this is around $25.
So I guess after typing all of this - my main question is that I would like a recommendation for a hotel at or near the airport. And any information about shuttle cost.
Thanks for any information that the cruise critic family can provide.

No, the beauty of purchasing this package is, it's got a nice choice of wine and while there is a gratuity added, there's no corkage fee.
PS here's the pdf for poa https://www.ncl.com/sites/default/files/WineList_POA_05132014.pdf
Enjoy your cruise.
Thanks for your response and the PDF file. Much appreciated.

Have purchased the wine package on the Breakaway, think they must offer the same package on all ships.
Sold in the atrium the first night or two, but you can order and Re-order any package at any bar during your entire cruise . Just ask for the wine package order slip and they will give you the selection menu. You fill your choices out and give it and your ship card to them.
You will get slips of paper with your wine selections (4 slips for 4 bottle, 6 for six and so on). You can turn them in for all your bottles to take with, or you can get a few for your cabin and turn a slip in at any restaurant or bar of choice. They will not stop you from drinking more than one bottle per day.
If you choose from the top tier, you can choose from all 3 levels.
I think you could probably exchange a wine you do not like (unopened of course). We have had wine delivered to our cabin (platinum level sparkling wine) that we exchanged for "house wine" at a restaurant. You would exchange for same tier wine.
Have been following this thread. Good concise information/answers. Will be sailing POA in March 2015. Would like to know if a corkage fee is an additional charge on each bottle of wine when ordering the Viva Vino Package?

When you go through security- they will note that you have wine and send you to the desk to get stickers and pay- you don't really pay at that moment- it is added to your onboard account- Be careful- I was reviewing my charges on the tv and saw something I didn't think was mine. I then spent about 15 -20 min in line at guest services because I had a 45.00 charge from manhatten (I think) never went there so was questioning the charge- It was the corkage fee!! - it is not identified on the bill as corkage...:D
Enjoy your trip and your WINE;)
thanks for the reply.

Read everything on this thread about corkage fees. Would like to know when you pay the corkage fee. Do you pay when you are given the sticker?? Or is it added to your bill??
