DW and I will be cruising with the drink package for the first time in December.

We are not big drinkers, but enjoy a few every cruise. (I usually drink a few Miami Vice and she gets BBC's)

I doubt we will ever get close to the 15 drink limit any day, but we figured we could get out of our comfort zones and try some different drinks this trip.

Intrested to hear about everybody's favorite or go to drinks on Carnivalmy all-time fave is the Caribbean Manhattan at the Alchemy Bar, although I’m not sure it’s still on the menu, but it’s my nightly pre-dinner drink.  I especially love the

For future things like I said news on the rest of this year will wait until the football schedule comes out in May.

Next year I have three cruises in the first four months. That includes Jubilee, Spirit, and Horizon. All three ships are new to me. One new home port for me (Mobile) and four new ports for me (Aruba, Bonaire, Curaçao, Bimini).

If anyone has tips or suggestions for any of those ports, feel free to leave those here because my planning hasn’t really begun for any of them.

I can also say I have my first balcony room booked on a future cruise…but I won’t say which one until we get to it.

I think I read somewhere that you want to go to Flamingo Beach when you’re in Aruba and if you do I highly recommend you pack your water shoes!  The beach was lovely, but it was SO rocky in the water that it actually hurt my feet.  Also, they only had a certain number of tickets available to purchase online a few days before I got there.  I had to keep checking the website every day & scored tickets on cruise day (3 days before my arrival in Aruba) by going online 1st thing when they opened.  It was $125 for a day pass which included lunch & a drink when I went in March 2022, but totally worth it IMO.

Pretty expensive adventure here on my first official day on vacation... Between lunch, dinner, drinks, after dinner drinks, tips, and Ubers, I'm into it for well over four hundred bucks... That's almost as much as my entire Cheers beverage package for the week. What's the saying? "You can't take it with you"... In my case, most of it will end up in the sewer system by morning...

    I repeat… YOLO YCTIWY

Next, we are going to drop off our carry-ons at our cabin. On our way we pass the Alchemy Bar…..

We take the elevator up to Deck 11 and we find the usual sign on the big doors….

Platinum and Diamond members are allowed to drop off their bags in their cabin, but not to linger. Our cabin door is wide open, our sail and sign cards are not there, and it’s clear the room hasn’t even been started to be made up. Our room steward is nowhere in sight, so we leave him a note letting him know that we put our bags in the closet.

Feeling hungry, we grab an elevator and head up to Deck 16, and Shaq’s Big Chicken, which is on the port side aft. It is not busy at all.....

We get our food and sit at the Tides Bar which is on the starboard side aft. Patti had the chicken strips….

I had two Shaq Attacks. We both had the potato salad which we thought was really good…..

Here are our first drinks of the cruise…..

That Alchemy Bar looks very small for such a big ship!

Went to Mumba Beach today.  $16 taxi per cab each way from cruise port to beach, $30 for two lounge chairs and an umbrella.  Beautiful beach in front of the Marriott high rise properties.  There is a restaurant and bar and clean rest rooms.  We usually go to Eagle or Palm and this was just as nice.  All beaches along the hotel strip are open to cruisers as far as we know.

So the total per person (for 2 people) was only $31?

  7. I’d love to hear about the new masking policy and where you can be maskless inside the ship. Do you have to wear it at the Alchemy bar, inside the comedy club, piano bar, etc., or only while waiting in lines?  Have a great cruise!

  8. My last cruise just pre-COVID Feb 2020 was on the Pride out of Baltimore.  I hadn’t been on a Spirit-class ship since my very 1st cruise on the Carnival Miracle in 2009 & of course this time there were the 2.0 upgrades that I’ve come to love (ie: the Alchemy Bar, Guy’s Burgers & Blue Iguana Cantina).   We were perfectly happy with the ship & staff for the most part.  The casino bar area was often crowded with slow service (sometimes to the point of being ignored) & we had a not so great experience in the steakhouse restaurant; but overall we enjoyed our cruise & the ship.

We usually buy a bottle for the room from the funshops. Prices are either ok or extremely high based on what you drink. Still a great ROI per drink vs the bar though.

How many mLs do you get?  I can’t read it on the bottle & it doesn’t say in the description.

Just got off the Dream.  Went a bit overboard this time on the decorations, but did love them.  Really helped my aunt find our room every time we went out!

Love it!  My question is, how do you know what are flame retardant materials?

  11. I’ve done the all-inclusive at Mr. Sancho’s twice and had a lot of fun both times!  I love Paradise Beach too. I think it’s a couple bucks to get in with the promise to spend a minimum of $10 on food/drink.  They have an awesome pool there!  We usually spend a few hours on the beach then end the day at the pool.  I’ve never been, but a lot of people rave about Nachi Cocom which is another all-inclusive for $55pp and a max limit of 100 people I believe.  You can get a taxi to/from any of these for less than $20 (one-way) & they’re 15-20 min away.... I think.  I haven’t been for a couple of years so prices may be different.

  12. Did you end up doing this excursion? It gets good reviews on Carnival’s website.

Carnival offers a Beach Hopping Excursion in Barbados. The description states that it includes unlimited drinks and about 1 1/2 hours at two different beaches on the south coast. Has anyone done this excursion? If so, what are the two beaches they take you to? Are the drinks really unlimited? About what time did you get back to the port?

    Thanks!!
