  1. Hopefully this is a silly question. We have paid a deposit, but now I notice that if I was to rebook this cruise, the price has gone up quite a bit.  The fine print does say something about MSC can increase the price.  Will I have to pay more than what was originally quoted when I paid my deposit?  Cruise isn't until July 2024.

I think you don´t have to reapply but you points are going down to 0 and you start with the lowest level again.

If my points go back to 0, as a past cruiser, do you know if I can still get the voyagers club 5% discount?

  3. Our MSC voyagers club expires in July 2023. We are hoping to book a cruise in July 2024. As we have already sailed several times on MSC, I am hoping that we can reapply for the voyagers club in August 203 and still be able to then get the 5% discount on our 2024 cruise. Has anyone had experience with this?
  4. Hi

Can you have dinner at anytime in the yacht club restaurant eg 6pm?  We are considering  the Grandiosa in 2020. From what I can work out, the regular restaurants have their earliest dinner seating at 7pm.

We have previously sailed Seaview and Seaside in a fantastica balcony cabin.  A yacht club deluxe suite is available for our preferred dates and it's very tempting, but I'm not sure I can justify the price....

  5. Thanks for all the suggestions.  Double the price to do the ship excursion vs trying to pre book it ourselves....Tricky decision.  And then there's the problem of actually getting hold of MSC to actually try and book.  If we are guaranteed to get to St Peter's with the ship tour, it may be worth it.  But if we go on our own, we may have time to climb the dome...

  6. Hi

We will be on MSC Seaview, arriving at Civitavecchia at 7am and departing at 6pm. I really would love to see St Peter's and the Vatican Museum but am unsure how best to do this. (I was hoping to do it DIY). Which do we go to first? Do we try to get to St Peter's as early as we can and then book the Museum for 12pm? Or do we do the Museum first and hope we can get into St Peter's?

If we can't see them both and I had to choose, I'd pick St Peter's. I've read that St Peter's is often closed on Wednesday mornings due to General Audiences with the Pope, but these General Audiences appear to be cancelled for July. Will we still be able to get into St Peter's in the morning?

My husband and I are travelling with our 7 year old son.

    Thanks for your help

  7. MeeshaNZ - I'm not really a big drinker either and will have two kids with me and I'm not a big fan of them drinking fizz all day long either so no way we'd ever get our monies worth out of any of the packages where everyone in the cabin has to sign up to. I've bought the 4 bottles of wine + 14 water pack and the 14 cans of soda pack (you can buy them when you log on to your booking online on the NZ/OZ MSC site). Mainly for dinner at night. Last time we cruised there was a do-re-mi mocktail pack you could buy when you checked in which was 12 mocktails and a 14 drink cocktail pack as well which were perfect for the family to have a cocktail by the pool each day. Unfortunately my understanding is that they have now discontinued these two packs..

Maybe there are different packages for different sailings??? When I log into my booking, I can only buy 7 bottles of wine (which we would never use) OR 14 bottles of mineral water. There is no 4 bottle option or 14 soda pack option - only unlimited soda package.

The 12 mocktail pack would have been perfect....

Does anyone know if the Family soft drinks includes milkshakes and smoothies? On NZ/AU bookings, no drinks of any kind are included :-(. We do not really drink, but it would be nice to be able to have a few milkshakes and non alcoholic drinks, especially with 3 sea days.

If the family non alcoholic drinks were for the entire family, it would be a good deal, but it's a bit confusing to tell the difference.

  9. Previously we've done walk off and picked up a rental car because we had a late flight, and went to a beach for the day.

What car company did you use previously? When you did a walk off, did it take long to get your car? I have read lots of bad reviews about shuttles being full and no cars available! Perhaps is we walk off, rather than waiting until 10am when our cabin is called to disembar we won't have these problems....

  10. We are also wanting to pick up a car after our cruise. Does anyone recommend any particular car hire company? I've read bad reviews about Avis shuttles and then expensive toll passes with Dollar and Thrifty. (We will be picking up in Miami and dropping the car at Orlando early the next day).

Also, we are undecided if we should do a self assisted disembarkation at 7am or wait until our allocated time (10am). Would we have more luck with getting a car quickly if we disembark earlier?

    Thanks
