In early December the sun sets about 5:40pm. We also have very little twilight. It goes from daylight to dark in about 10-15 minutes so you may wish to consider this in your planning.
Ahh, this is such good info! Thank you so much. We'll have to definitely do some more planning.

Hi Marie,
Basically no change other than the condo exteriors being renovated during low season which shouldn't affect you. The gal from the Banana Cabana (the beach grill located between condo bldgs B & C if I remember) and a guy or gal from the Sapphire Village restaurant run orders to the beach, and the BC still has that great mahi mahi sandwich and others. Dive In is back open for rentals.
Still a gorgeous spot for the day!
Thank you so much Blue Water!

Good day all!
We will be in St Thomas on December 1 with a group of 5 and we are wondering about the current conditions at Sapphire Bay. We were there in 2012 and loved it.
Our ship is in port 1:00 - 9:00 so we are also wondering how long is the sun out in St Thomas this time of year.
We'd like to do snorkeling again, is the rental shack open for business?
Still food available from the delightful ladies that come around? Had the best grouper and chips last time we were there. Drinks too, three daiquiris for $20 if I recall rightly. The banana one was exquisite!
Thanks in advance!

Does anyone have current info on the gear rental at Sapphire Beach? Going with a group of 6 people in a cpl months. Will be looking for snorkle set ups.
Thanks!

These pictures were taken in 2009 when the Fantasy cruised out of New Orleans. I don't believe she has been extensively remodeled since then.
The concrete structure with the door and stairs are part of the terminal in New Orleans. The white structure is part of the obstructed view though.
Here is the balcony.
Cabin Number was V23.
-
Just be aware too that the balcony is very narrow, so the chair(s) need to be set diagonally. You can see the ocean through the
life boats...not totally obstructed. I used to have pictures of those cabins...let me see if I can find it and I will post.

Just cleared to proceed and they expect us to be alongside at noon.

Yay! Good news.
Just got CCL txt message telling us leaving on Triumph that next txt will be at 10:30. Hopefully Triumph will arrive earlier than Magic did yesterday at 4.

We've never done the Sea Day brunch, but sure will now! (Hiding myself here, I've gone on 'a few' cruises but didn't know about these)
I did know about Sea Day Tea Times though, and we have enjoyed those.
Thanks for the heads up about the brunch!

Thank you for taking the time to do such a complete review. It's exciting to see something positive after all the negatives I've read lately.

Looking for recent Fun Times and menu for Triumph 5 day from Galveston to Progreso and Cozumel. If anyone can share, sure would appreciate it!
-
First off, welcome to cruising! The feeling of still being on the seas was always a good reminder for me of the wonderful times had onboard.
Thanks for your review, we'll be onboard the Triumph in Feb, it's hard waiting! With -10 and snow on the ground we are anxious for a 75 degree day.
Will be waiting to hear more from your cruise mates too.
-
i can't answer your question as it has been several years since we were on the Conquest.
I just wanted to say i am very jealous of your countdown clock however lol. :D :p
LOL, awh shucks! Yes, two more work days and it's all she wrote!
5 more days til a group of us rock the Conquest!
-
Does anyone have a fairly current dinner menu for a 7 day conquest cruise. I know one or two nights the food is nothing spectacular and that would be the night(s) we want to reserve the steakhouse.
I've been looking for that information as well. Will keep my eyes open and share if I find the menu.
Next week at this time I will be on the Conquest, so if nothing else, I will try to make copies and will post.

Finally going to sit down and read this thread, start to end! I've seen the thread, even read the first couple pages a while back but couldn't finish. Today I have the time and definitely have the interest!
Looking forward to all the info and pics! Thanks in advance for taking the time and putting forth such energy in your review!
Leaving on the Valor in 22 days, Imagination in March. (Too many days to count, darn it!)
Thanks again!

You middle one reminds me of one I have ...
That is the Conquest leaving Galveston ...
Which reminds me of this ...
That is the urinal in one of the public men's restrooms on the Voyager of the Seas.
Good gracious! I haven't been to Galveston since 1980 when I spent my honeymoon there. There were no high rises anywhere near it back then!
Love the second pic, just don't know what to say about that though. So I will go back to sputtering and laughing.

Love this thread! 1st 2 pictures are in Alaska.
OMG, where was the pic taken of the Coke machine with $7.00 soda pops??
-
I wanted to clarify my post we are doing t-shirts with pictures of 2-piece bathing suits~~we would have 2 rows of 6 bathing suits with a name under each suit~Thanks
So glad you clarified.
I was thinking you meant you were no longer doing T-shirts, but rather doing customized bikinis and I had no idea where the names were going to be. Under what?
Grin.....thank you though, I had a visual.
My group (family) still needs to figure out if we are going to do shirts, or since we are going for Halloween if we'll all dress up in a theme. I say do both!
-
Ahem, I believe it says Don't Cross the Red Line! :)
I love you dearly Hubby of mine, but you know I told you not to have 'just one more' margarita after you ate all those tacos.
-
Oh I need that as a screensaver!!!
Another from Nachi that I use as my screensaver. Just over 100 days to be there again, sigh...

So sorry I havent had a chance to get the Fun Times up. They are in my inbox and on my to do list. For those of you who have done this before...do you just scan them to your inbox, save them to your pics and then upload to photobucket? I havent done this before. :o
Yup, exactly what I did. Scanned mine, saved as .pdf file to my PC, then uploaded to photobucket.

Thinking ... if I saw a full view of the side of the ship, I might be able to tell just how obstructed they are.
I was in an obstructed view cabin last fall on the Fantasy. This is a picture taken looking out toward the balcony from Verandah Deck, V25 to be exact. The price was right, what can I say!
In this picture, the white metal bars structure is all you see once you have pulled away from the dock, the bars are part of the lifeboat set ups.
The greenish and orange stuff you see is the Port of New Orleans, the Carnival terminal.
Hope this helps!

Where are Valor and Elation sailing out of? Just curious because I had a dream I was on a ship the other night and it was the Valor. I had won a free cruise (in my dream). Maybe it will come true. :o
Valor is out of Miami and Elation is out of Mobile. Winning a free cruise would be awesome! For now, me like most others has to save our money for our trips!
OK, must run now to check out the videos you have posted! Dinner can wait!
(horribly addicted to this thread)

Nancy, your review has got to be one of my all time favorites! It may even be the number 1! I have laughed so hard and so many times that my son came out of his room (yes! off his computer game, I know - hard to believe)
It's so nice to see people having fun. Love it! You and Andrew are certainly making memories.
My favorite posting of yours is the picture of Andrew pointing to his T-Shirt. Honestly, spew time of my ice tea. Excellent! Second I believe is the Number 1 and Number 2 seats.
I've been on the Fantasy twice, in October we go on the Valor, January the Elation. I hope they stand up to my expectations set by the Fantasy and her crew.
Thanks again for taking the time to do such a great review.

Oooooohhhh, I like it!
Thank you
Interior Deck 1 Fwd Tell me your experiences
in Carnival Cruise Lines
Posted
My first cruise was as far forward as you could get, and Riviera Deck. A porthole cabin.
I thought it was great location! A wee bit noisy early mornings in port, but sure worth the money at the time.
Fast forward 6 years and my cruise later this month is a porthole on Riviera Deck again! LOL
We have had midship balcony, aft balcony, forward balcony, aft oceanview and Lido Deck inside.
I'm more cost conscious now, and we spend little time except for sleeping and showering in our cabin. For our money we are good with an ocean view at interior pricing!
Bravo to you for getting that savings! I think you will be fine at the lower forward level.
