  1. Hubby and myself also disembarked in Southampton on 21st april after a lovely cruise, we started to feel unwell that night. We were tested on 23rd April and results came back positive 😞  we are so grateful not to have been unwell on the cruise as we have felt terrible all weekend and just beginning to feel a bit more human today.

We are also fully vaxed with boosters. The line at the end of the cruise was unbelievable! 😞

As much as I love cruising i'm not in a rush to book the next one!

If it's booked via the UK, probably not but worth a try.

Ours had reduced by £1800 this morning...from £2900 to £1100.

Celebrity has since fixed the glitch though, so all the prices are back to normal

As you say worth a try nothing to lose by filling it in and sending off!

Yes, I just sent in a Best Price Guarantee email and received the OBC in 3 days.  On the Celebrity site- go all the way to the bottom of page(in the tiny printing of the page) on the right side, you will find Best price guarantee- click on it and it will give you form to fill out and email back in. I was pleasantly surprised at how quick I got a response!

Thank you I have done that so hopefully will get OBC 🙂

I definitely want to try one...Westbound from Europe will be the one I finally try out.  Get the long flight out of the way.

We are doing our first one in April and getting long flight out the way first too, fly out to fort lauderdale and then sail back to southampton. We're very much looking forward to a more relaxing cruise and not feeling like we have to get off at ports every day lol. Lots of eating, drinking and relaxing to be done, sure you will have a lovely time.

  5. I am a coeliac and have sailed with celebrity 3 times and found gluten free options to be excellent. I have always been offered a choice of delicious breads with dinner. Burger wise I don't have a bun usually as it just fills me up too much along with a burger and fries! Afternoon tea they always had gluten free bread and scones and they were great. I also found they had a big selection of GF deserts at night especially at the buffet. The only area they could improve for me is cafe al bacio where there would be one coconut cake which was nice but you do get fed up if that's all that's on offer every day!

After sailing princess last year I appreciate celebritys GF options even more as it was like night and day not good at all.

  6. I'm not sure why you're so angry, you say yourself that you knew this wasn't available for your sailing....

Personally when it came up with the error i'd have just thought oh well never mind this is because its not available for my sailing and deleted it, end of!

I don't think you'll get anywhere phoning them and you will just waste more time getting yourself annoyed, life is short move on and have a great cruise!

  7. Hi,

We are booked on Constellation in February and was wondering if anyone has any experience of gluten free food in the buffet sandwiches, cakes etc. My husband is fine for the MDR but sometimes he just wants a sandwich.

    Thanks

I have just come off the eclipse and the gluten free choices were the best i've had on a ship! I imagine it will be the same on constellation.

The bread on the ship was lovely, if you ask in the main dining room or the ocean view they will provide bread and also toast it for you. Also in the ocean view buffet there was a choice of different gluten free cakes on many days.

At the pizza/pasta station they will do you gluten free pizza or pasta if you ask, they also have gluten free scones when afternoon tea is on, he wont go hungry that's for sure!

    Hope this helps :)

  8. We purchased our duty free at the airport in the uk and took it with us as the duty free in dubai is very expensive, our plane arrived at 8am too but we were going to the hotel as we booked it as a package.

We were exhausted when we came off the plane and wouldn't have considered doing anything other than breakfast and getting to the port, that however was our experience - maybe others have a bit more energy coming off the flight. We however did not :)

  9. Thanks for the review - not many from this part of the world. Interesting what you said about first time cruisers and lack of meet and mingle - don't think there is even a roll call started for our cruise on 27Feb !

Did you notice if there were any drink cards - couldn't see anything on the cruise compasses. If not think we will be going 'dry' - hurts too much to pay their prices for drinks :D

Was it easy to walk to places in Muscat - we have a dhow tour for the first day but planning on doing our own thing for the second day.

    Thanks again - Sue

We are also the 27th and your right there is no roll call for ours - I was looking the other day, we are also hoping to see a drinks card as the drinks are very expensive!

  10. Just finished my review on Cruise Critic but wanted to say here that I think Sensation is the best managed ship I have ever been on and have been cruising for 20 years. The employees are happy, helpful, efficient, friendly, and eager to please in any way they can. The cabin was comfortable and quiet. Cabin U157 is well located. The food was wonderful. We had lobster tail which I had read isn't being served anymore on NCL. The flat steak was tasty and tender. The buffet had great choices and strawberry fozen yogurt in addition to ice cream 24 hours. We had My Time Dining in the Fantasy Dining Room and service was amazing. Never waited over 3 minutes to be seated. We chose to share a table each night and our dining companions were friendly and delightfully entertaining. OUr servers called us by name as they set each dish in front of us. Our tea and water glasses were kept full. The servers were charming and fun. Be sure to ask for the magician. He is excellent.

Embarkation was the fastest and easiest I have ever seen. Glad I didn't do FTTF because we parked our car at 11 a.m. and sat down to eat at 12:30. Our bags were in our cabin at 2:15. Don't see how it could have been any faster.

Thank you to this board for 1) telling me about Early Saver (I got $245 OBC for the first time in my life) and 2) telling me about Serentity Deck. I loved it and used it often.

    Debarkation was easy.

I would be eager to cruise on Carnival Sensation any time I get the chance.

I am ready to change our yearly 7 day cruise from NCL to Carnival because of this cruise. This kind of service has to be Management Culture. It doesn't happen by accident.

I am also just back from sensation cruise and it was brilliant, no complaints! We did use FTTF and found it to be excellent, we arrived at the port at 11.15 and were on the ship at 11.30. The other benefit is also that your cabin is ready for you as soon as soon as you board, our luggage arrived approx 1pm in the cabin. There is also a seperate queue at guest services which is worth its weight in gold as there was a long queue most of the time, thankfully we didn't need to wait in it. I personally will use FTTF everytime I sail!

  11. Hello, I have only done one cruise a few years ago so new to all this!
