I will most likely be booking a cruise on the Panorama for June 27th, 2020 after my daughter's Gymnastics National Championships in Long Beach. I am excited as this will be the biggest ship we will have been on. We LOVE the size of Glory, Freedom and Conquest (December 2019) that we will have been on and are just a little apprehensive about the extra size of this ship. But excited for the vacation!!!

62 Hours (Thursday the 25th) on Paradise.
152 Days (December the 21st) on Conquest.
So excited, never had 2 booked at the same time before!!!

Hi All,
Going on the Carnival Paradise this Thursday and just wondering if there is a free beach to dip our toes into the water within walking distance of the pier. Any help would be greatly appreciated. We want to do a bit of shopping in port, no excursions and be at a beach, if available, for a very small bit of time. TIA

We cruised out of NYC on the Carnival Sunshine in 2017 to Canada. We loved that sail away. It was rainy but we were on the deck under cover and just kept going side to side to get better pictures as we got closer to the views. Even though it was rainy, it was fantastic!Would love to go out of there again!

Thank you all for the advise and helpful information and personal experiences. I don't do the powdered protein. Since I like the dining room, I will most likely do 1 egg and some kind of meat and let my guys (either hubby or son) eat what I can't. It won't be a hardship on them! LOL!!! For dinner, I will do a 1 for sample of some appetizers they order and do something I like (full of good protein) for my dinner. I haven't gotten sick yet (definitely know the feeling when I am full!) so I think by then, I will have a handle on the sizing of a portion I can eat.
We chose a non food-centric vacation now for summer since I am still learning what I can tolerate but I had an opportunity to jump on a Christmas cruise and didn't want to not go because of the surgery. It will be a very good test of my will, but I think not getting sick from too much food will keep me in check and that many months out, I will know my real limits.
Again, thanks for the suggestions and help!

Hi All,
Anyone go on a cruise within a year of gastric surgery? What were some of your strategies to help stay on track and not get sick? I will be going on a cruise at 8 1/2 months post sleeve surgery at Christmas time and don't want to either get sick or gain weight, I also want to stay healthy. We always eat in the MDR for dinner and for brunches, breakfast and lunches when it is open. Any and all help accepted. TIA

We stayed on deck 5 and I am asthmatic. There were no noise or smoke issues at all for us in August 2017.

2 weeks from tomorrow!!! I don't know how I am even containing my excitement at this point...:D

I have had the Bottomless bubbles on all my cruises and it has never been a problem. Our MDR staff has always been quick with delivery of our drinks and if you have the same staff each night, they will know your preferences and most times have had it ready for us as we were arriving. Waiting at the bar hasn't been that much of an issue, even for the kids (who aren't the most outspoken or pushy). Most bartenders will learn what you like quickly if you tend to get the same thing each time. You don't get charged anything extra to your account if you buy the package. I just purchased this for our cruise coming up on July 22nd and purchased them separately as I could afford them. Right now, as we speak (or type as it were), 1 of the cruisers in my cabin doesn't have the package. We love this option, it works well for us.

Our family will be on the Pride July 22nd! Looking forward to it. Interested in your take on this ship and the itinerary.

23 days! We will be on the Carnival Pride out of Baltimore on July 22nd! So close and yet so far away. Don't want to wish my summer vacation away, but at the same time I want my cruise!:D

Just wondering how would you know how many points you had from your last cruise? Is there any way to find that out before my next cruise? Do they keep track of that somewhere that I could find it?
-
This sounds like a trip of go with the flow or you will break. Can't wait to hear more. This will pass the time until my cruise on July 22nd.

We are at 46 days and we are going on the Pride out of Baltimore. 4th cruise on CCL, first time on Pride. (we've done a different ship each cruise)

Congrats on getting to go on your first cruise! My family and I (DH, DS 19, DD 15) will be going on a cruise out of Baltimore on the Pride in July as well. Ours is on the 22nd.
Our kids love camp and wanted to go there often. We let them go. Yes, it's a family vacation, but if they are having fun, it's easier for me to have fun (my humble opinion). We always eat in the MDR, love to talk about our days and things we did over a nice meal. The kids always ordered off the adult menu. Have fun and relax. Pick your favorite things you want to try from the funtimes but don't overload yourself. ENJOY!

My family (Me, DH, DS-18, and DD-15) were on the Sunshine in August 2017 to Canada and absolutely loved it. It was weird weather but we had a great time and didn't have any problems with crowds at all. Would do it again!

Excited to see the rest of your review as our family is booked on the Pride for July 22 sailing. Never been on the Pride before and it is the smallest ship we will have been on to date. Hoping to see some fun times just to see what they offer compared to what others cruises we have been on. Thanks for your review.:)

I went to the steakhouse on our Christmas cruise and it was great. I ordered every course and had a bite or 2 of each thing and let others "try" the rest. Also, in the Main dining room, I asked for only the protein portion of the meal I wanted. Then if I had room after eating that, I would have maybe a bite or 2 of someone else's veggie or go to the lido later and grab some kind of fruit. It worked for me and I lost 2 pounds on that trip. Hope this helps you in some way. I go on a cruise in 9 days and can't wait. I will use the same techniques again.
