Thanks for the reply!Yes, you can redeem on BoA website. You have to put in your confirmation number, sail date, etc.
I’m assuming it’s just a form that sends the response to a human somewhere to process, and with the holidays it will probably be delayed.
If I don’t hear anything by the end of next week I’ll call the number you listed.
Thanks again!
You still have to call to apply the redemption.

Another one that doesn’t want to search through 200+ pages for the answer. 😃
I’m looking at a 16 night transatlantic in April. If I book an inside and use points for a meta upgrade to a balcony, which cabin would be used for the upgrade process? The inside or the balcony? I want to be able to bid for a Haven room. Would I be able to?
Thanks in advance.
The balcony will be used - yes you can bid to upgrade to haven as long as you get the opportunity to bid.

Guidelines changed just this morning. As of Sept 23, no pre cruise testing required if you are vaccinated.

Can you stand one more question regarding the points and upgrading to a balcony? If so, I use a TA. I booked an Oceanview on an 11 night cruise. Final payment is due next month. Since I’ll get triple points paying the cruise with the CC I’ll then reach the 30,000 points needed to upgrade to a balcony.
I know I have to call Norwegian myself to do this. Or is it the CC company?
Does my TA lose her commission? If I have any problems is she still able to help me? Not problems with room upgrade per se, just let’s say I have an issue and one of us gets sick and we have to cancel (yes, we have insurance, actually we take it out from her company).
Thank you for all clarifications
You have to call world points. The TA does not lose commission. And yes the TA would still be able to help with anything else.

Can I book directly online with NCL and use the CN certificates. I would have to book an inside cabin and get a booking number and call World Points to get the meta upgrade. Once I get the upgrade for the balcony, I would call whatever agency I want within 14 days and transfer the booking. Thank you so much for the info!
Yes you can do that. But World Points won't talk to agents so you will still have to do any calls to them yourself. Meanwhile NCL wouldn't talk to you so anything through regular NCL would have to be your agent. It gets messy lol

Ok I just booked 2 connecting OV rooms - my husband are going to take our grandsons on a cruise ages 10 and 13. Since they are minors, booked one of them in a room with me and one of them in a room with a husband. My Norwegian credit card is in my name. When I tried upgrading both cabins, they said I could upgrade the cabin with my name on it since the card is in my name. Suggestions? Help appreciated!
I don't think you can upgrade both. What if you used 60k to upgrade one from inside to balcony and then just pay balcony prices for the other?

How long does it take for the OBC to show up in your account Summary? I filled out the OBC form online through BofA. Do I still need to call NCL? Thanks for any insight!
Call them. The online thing will get you the item but it won't apply it to your cruise even tho they ask for the date. I keep forgetting and buying it online and then having to call anyways

a few questions for the experts.....
I'm a casual user of the NCL card, currently with 4200 points and facing a $3000 NCL final bill for an upcoming cruise. We are Platinum Plus members. Usually use a card that gets me a 2% monthly card credit. Normally, I'm billing a few thousand dollars a month for that 2%,
Is there any real advantage of paying off the upcoming cruise with the NCL card that exceeds the 2% I would be getting from the Fidelity card?
Advance thanks!
You will get triple points using the NCL card so 9k points (more if you are a higher BoA rewards level). 9k points would translate to $90 in credit which is 3% (slightly better). If you save up to get to 30k points you can move 1 meta (inside to oceanview or oceanview to balcony). If you save up to 60k you get 2 metas (inside to balcony). In this way, the 60k points can bring you better value than $600, depending on the cruise prices and number of pax

Which interior cabin do I book to ensure I can use 60,000 to get up to Club balcony? I need a bigger room for three adults.
You can't move from inside to club balcony just to regular balcony

So I cant figure out how to redeem my points on NCL. I have 50,000 but I dont see anything related to NCL on the Bank of America World Point Redemption website. What am I missing?
Under the main banner there should be 3 boxes: Earn Points Quickly, Choose your Rewards, and Reward yourself (with a pic of a ship). Click the "Learn More" in that 3rd box.
But if you buy it through there you still have to call to apply it

I am new to using the points on this card. Sorry if I am asking questions that have already been asked. I tried reading through the pages but there are so many. I just got to 60K points. I am looking at using them for 9 or 10 day Caribbean cruise in January 2024.
Two questions: #1 Since it is so far out- Should I book now and make the double metaupgrade now?
#2 Do I book a regular inside or family inside? Will a family inside since it costs more help my upgrade?
Thank you all so much for your help.
I was booked into an IF (cheapest inside) and when I called they repriced it to IB which was the cheapest level for me to go to BA. So I would just book a cheaper inside and they will reprice if needed.
I'd book now and do the upgrade.

Won't work.
Only on the original category, but....after you meta up you will still get new bid offers.
But, on about a dozen bid offers and my bidding max, I have never been successful in winning one.
I always use 60k points for a double and I think those points factor into my bid failure.
I have also never read here about a meta going on to win a bid.
I don't bid often... but on a 2 week southern i did 60k to go from insie to balcony then successfully bit up to a penthouse.

You are correct to a point. Like one of the posts prior to this, it depends on the sailing.
I have a 36 night booked prior to the new rules which is 4 b2b2b2b s.
Since the new rules I have a 16 night and a 21 nighter booked all double meta.
For those asking about new rules. No meta upgrades on any b2b..... You are free to use points for "each" sailing.
Cabin category is maxed at BA. No afts either.
Ah right, thanks. I do remember hearing about that but we don't usually do B2B and use the upgrades so I guess I chose not to remember it lol
I thought it was maxed at BA and no afts a long time ago?

With the changes to Meta upgrades bookings in 2021, for bookings from 2022 and onward, do you have any idea what your target average or range (per point value) will be for your future bookings?
I can't imagine it can remain as high as $0.10 - $0.20 per point value. I'm guessing perhaps half of that?
Stay positive and Safe travels!

What changes?

I don't think you always get I* to B* ... it can vary what the actual mappings are.
How did you get prepaid gratuities??

Thanks. I have lots of points to use and some expire in 2022.
If you have a very large number, there are also entire cruises you can buy with points

Sounds like a loophole that was closed. You were lucky to get in on it while you did. Not sure why they even allowed that.

After 2 phone calls and talking to five different people, I was finally able to get a straight answer about getting my points back if I cancel before final payment. She did tell me a couple of situations where I would lose the points before final payment, but they won’t be an issue with me. So, I was able to go from IA to BA (angled balcony).
What are the conditions where you would lose the points? If they would return as expired?
-
Were you maybe in a different cancellation bracket when you originally called? And then moved into the 50% later when you cancelled?
-
I bought back in at 29.50. I had originally set my limit at 30, then 28, and settled finally at 29.50. I originally bought in 3Q 2018 at 46 and sold this Jan for 58... so I am already a bit ahead. Here's hoping!

What level did you go from exactly and which ship?
IA to BB on NCL Sun

I usually do single meta upgrade but this time I did double as I have a lot of points. 9 night Alaskan in a balcony with drinks for $3k. Saved around $2500

I always book the angled balcony! They are great and you get a wider view

I so wish someone would base a ship in the Savannah/Hilton Head area. I would be booking the day before and running to the port for the right price!
There are some in Jacksonville - which isn't too far from you
