I haven’t been on this site since I needed information on my last cruise,  I have just booked my next cruise, and can’t understand why I can’t see any uptodate comments.

On Oriana in April, canaries, Madeira and Lisbon, we have been to most of these places before, have done our thing most of the time, ships excursions too expensive and too organised!!!! Like the idea of using the taxies, but I am afraid I will get robbed and dumped somewhere. How pathetic am I!!!!!!!

How safe is it to get off the ship and book a trip with one of the taxi and mini bus companies, there are always plenty of them, but I have been afraid to take chance before.

I don't want to do the ship excursions particularly, so is it safe to go to Ephesus on our own.

Also how safe is it to go the Turkey ruins on our own.

We have just returned from two weeks on venture, really enjoyed everything. We enjoy the formal nights, but it is getting out of hand now. Previously everyone had to wear dinner suits, if you didn't have one, the only place you were allowed to go in the evening was in the buffet area, you wouldn't be served in the other bars, and certainly not allowed in the theatre.

Why is it anyone dressed casually can be in any part of the ship they choose to be, we would prefer either formal or totally casual, make your minds up P and O.

Just booked for Ventura on 31st October, we always travel by train, but wondered if anyone could suggest a reasonable Hotel suitable to leave our car and one nights accommodation prior to the cruise. Thanks in anticipation
