Been on both ships and multiple Mexican Riviera cruises
(but not THOSE ships for Mexican Riviera).
For the $70 diff, IMHO do the Ruby.

Any of the Princess offices listed in the PDF linked to from http://www.carnivalcorp.com/phoenix.zhtml?c=140690&p=irol-sharebenefit
Santa Clarita (+1 661-753-0180) works best from the US.
Carnival House, UK (+44 0 238 065 7360)
Chatswood, NSW (+61 2 8 326 4550)
If you mean HAL, etc, instead of Princess, you'll have to click the PDF :p
Thank you very much! :cool::cool:

Good info re' shareholder credit on this thread! We haven't cruised Carnival Corp ships in years but have one coming up - would someone please share the fax #?

While private tours may be cheaper than ship tours, we usually "burn through" our
OBC by booking ship tours. We aren't interested in drink, spa or dining packages
so we take OBC instead and use it for "gratuities" (if possible) and excursions.
Without the OBC we do a mix/match of ship and private.
Just my take on it.

We've done POM >> FLL twice at cruise end and used SAS both times. They took us to the FLL airport but did drop some folks off at their hotel. $15 p/p. I'd use them again.
Oops... I misread your post thinking you wanted to from POM to FLL....
I gotta get my dyslexia fixed...

We were on the Equinox for a 10 nighter earlier in May and went to most of the theater shows, then watched bands, caught snacks in the OVC and had nightcaps on our balcony. I realize everyone is different - but we found no shortage of things to do.
-
For what it's worth...
When we do Alaska again, we'll definitely revisit Glacier Bay....
and most likely with Princess (even though we like Celebrity).
-
gerelmx, to echo another post, thank you for putting up the menus!

Another negatory/no/nyet/nada vote on larger ships from me. We are Platinum on
multiple lines and make it a point to sail ships of 3,000 pax or less. If I was younger
I might enjoy the climbing walls and flowrider .... but I'm not, so I don't.
Give me more sea-days than days in ports and I'm happy - (and so is DW).

"Didn’t get the email, any info on how long this offer is good?"
E-mail reads
Hurry, this special offer expires Monday night

Another vote for SAS... We did it from POM >> FLL first week of Nov.
Driver even gave us a running commentary of the "landmarks" along the way.

Thanks for posting the video! :p
We're on the Jade NYC>>MIA repo in October and looking forward to it.

We've done both - - mini-suite and a "regular" balcony on the Dawn for
Boston<>Tampa repos..
Mini definitely has more room - better for 3 people.
It has curtain "divider" separating bed and couch areas ...which is nice
Regular is OK for 2 but a bit tight for 3.
Here's the rub for the mini.... you are below the Lido and could possibly hear the
scraping of chairs/tables/loungers overhead. We specifically had a mini (11176) quite far aft
to avoid the Lido sounds. It was superb... IMHO.

What is the best time to go?
Mother Nature has a strange sense of humor.. one week you may have warm temps and smooth sailing
and the next week is storms, rain and cloudy skies.
We did Brilliance for 9 days out of Boston in early-mid September and it was shorts and
T-shirt weather with smooth sailing. Too early for Fall colors but people were in the pools every day.
Another cruise was a Princess cruise at the end of September early October on the heels of some
"Nor'Easter" storm. It was chilly, damp and some excursions were canceled or curtailed because of
storm damage at the excursion sites.,
My advice = be prepared for almost anything no matter when you cruise, watch the weather forecast
just before you leave and pack the appropriate clothes.
Since Fall color change is somewhat dependent on the change of air temperature, the color change
could be earlier or later than usual.
Don't build expectations based on one or two places/events and you'll enjoy the experience.
PS. Eat most of your seafood in the ports rather than on the ship....it's fresher in port! .

Luckily, NCL Jade is doing an 11 day repo from NYC to MIA in late Oct this year
which includes.the ABC's + Puerto Rico + Ocho Rios.
We jumped at this one when it was originally offered/listed!!
-
Temperatures were low 20s but cooler early morning and after dinner.
That's low 20's in CELSIUS....not Fahrenheit ...like we Americanos are used to..;p

I could start out by saying that I had 20 years experience doing IT graphic system design for one of the biggest banks in the world (and I'm not exaggerating) but other people have already presented their “bona fides” so why bother. I will say that IMHO this new "system" does not even qualify as a beta test although I did find it challenging, albeit frustrating, to do a mock booking once I stumbled upon their (il)logic flow.
That being said, I'll give kudos for one big improvement in the new site -- you can now view all the available cabins when you do a booking. So I guess we have "One small step for..." Celebrity cruisers and no large leap for Celebrity itself.
PS They'll fix it...because it's a revenue killer if they don't
-
So as Platinum members we get a complimentary dinner and free booze?
WOW - a freebie from NCL!!!
Why would I complain about that?
-
when she sees me stuffing and labeling all those little bank envelopes with bills for
"waiter tips", "bar tips", "hotel tips", "shuttle to pier tip" etc.
They all get put into a backpack that never leaves my side or sight.

Another vote/thumbs up for:
Outdoor Windjammer (buffet) seating, aft of Windjammer.
and
the Solarium area (pool + after hours eatery)

I can't answer every question but have you looked at the possibility of
there being an actual shore excursion after the cruise ends that will take you
to MIA rather than just a boring "transfer" from FLL to MIA?
We have a cruise that ends in MIA but the flight will be out of FLL and
there is an excursion that does MIA sightseeing and then takes us to FLL at
the end.
Edited to add this sample excursions starting in FLL and ending in MIA:
The Best of Miam from Port Everglades (ending at MIA airport) - FT79
and
Ft. Lauderdale Land and Sea (Ends at MIA) - FT17

People in hot tubs are sometimes like chair hogs . . .
occupying the tubs for long periods of time which
inhibits others from "getting a turn".
BUT such is life and that's fine with me.
As one medical person opined:
"A hot tub is just a group of people in a large crock pot set on simmer"
-
Now I know the diff between "sailing full" & "max capacity".
AND
It's good to know somebody actually considers the number of pax
arriving when allocating dock workers.
Thanx folks...:o

We bring dollar bills to tip the bar staff.
When I walk up to a bar I lay my Sail & Sign card
down with a dollar bill on top of it and I seem to get better
service & sometimes a better pour.
Since I tend to frequent the same bar(s), the
bartender(s) are happy to see me.
During the "returning passenger parties",
tipping gets us extra rounds of the freebie drinks.
Royal Princess "Wetdock"?

Judging from what OP included, I would be satisfied with
"the award-winning Princess Luxury Bed"
improvement.:D
