We are on the Millenium in June have booked most of our excursions by ourselves, but think we will do the one out of Seward through Celebrity which includes the boat trip in Kenai and then transportation to Anchorage. It seems "the path of least resistance" since I imagine they take our luggage and we don't have to drag it around but get reunited with it in Anchorage. Am I correct in thinking that? In terms of booking excursions through the cruise line, is there a way just to make a reservation to hold the spot, or do we need to give them our credit card and does that get charged right away?

We have decided to do whale watching in Icy Strait during our cruise in June.

Looking for recommendations on which tour company to book.

Would like to get suggestions and how to do our shore excursions with out going thru the cruise line. We are an active couple and enjoy exploring on our own but want to see the best highlights at each place.

We definitely want to do a whale watching trip and a kayak trip, and wondering the best stops for those. We know we want to do Mendenhall Glacier and the Mt. Roberts Tramway in Juneau.

Also, want to try and hike at each stop, so if folks have good info about whether there are hikes that we can walk to on our own, that would be great.

We are on Celebrity Millennium in June and these are our stops in Alaska

Icy Strait

Juneau

Skagway

Any help and tips on best things to see and do at these places would be very appreciated.

I hadn't realized, but it seems there are two tours that go to Kantishna; one is the Kantishna Wilderness Trails tour and the other the Kantishna Experience.

Any feedback on the difference and does either one allow for time to hike?

I believe Alaska Travel and Tour uses the Wilderness one.

Reviews on Alaska Travel and Tour (looking for the combo transportation/hotel package out of Anchorage)

or other good options? Hoping to do the train one way and bus the other.

We are on Celebrity Millennium June 8, 2018 and going up to Denali at the end of the trip. We are thinking of using Alaskatours out of Anchorage which includes transportation both ways (bus going, train coming back,) two nights accommodation and the 8 hour park tour.

Any feedback on Alaskatours would be greatly appreciated.

Also, we are considering the "upgrade" package which includes the gold train trip and the Grande Denali Lodge. Thoughts on whether the upgrade is worth it? If we stay at Grande Denali Lodge and pay for a view room, do those rooms include a balcony?
