  1. Go into the theater Deck FOUR on the LEFT side facing the stage. Go all the way behind the seats and down a small ramp there is a somewhat heavy door which leads to a small room with the lift. It acted up on our cruise so they suggested notifying guest relations earlier in the day as to which show you'd be attending that night (crew there to help if needed). Mainly acted up because it wasn't a fast elevator an people didn't know what buttons to press - 2 is Deck 4, 1 is the stage(passengers not allowed) 0 is the seating in front of the stage.

  2. Biggest mistakes

1)Booking a 7 day cruise with people we had never traveled with even for a simple weekend getaway 1st.

    2) Book a car service to get us to the airport from the house and let them decide when we should get picked up after providing flight info- they got us to the airport as if we weren't checking bags, had 5min before the cutoff then had to rush to the restroom (not easy when you need a handicapped stall) then rush to the gate.

    3) Head to the buffet for embarkation lunch. = zoo

    4) Pack multipe new outfits for each day - now just mix an match wearing things twice hand washing or send for cleaning when needed.

    5) Forgot cold/flu meds - caught a cold the last two SEA DAYS thanks to multiple people sneezing and coughing without covering their mouths the first 3 days. Ship was sold out of everything an doctor wanted $$$.

  3. Been on more than 8 cruises (short 7 day cruises) an personally never felt the service received warranted more than an extra $20. Usually in a typical hotel I'll do $2-3 a day so that is what I do on a ship. Since the daily gratuity already charged hasn't always been clear as to how it's divided from line to line. Been on some ships (MSC) where even with the auto tips kept on when we gave the steward cash they handed it over to someone above them - Not sure how much of that extra they got, all the stewards asked just said "they collect it for us". Whose to say they get it all back. Our steward didn't even open the envelope to see the amount.

  4. Bumped into my childhood (until I was 16) barber. He retired an closed the shop 17yrs later we're on the same cruise.

My mom bumped into neighbors 2 houses down from her in Trafalgar square in London. She knew they were away but didn't know where as they travel all the time. It was her 1st day of her tour and the last day of their tour. Mom was taking a picture and asks the guy in front of her to move a little an turned out it was the neighbor.

  5. Just want to understand the information.

I called Celebrity. One rep said it is for all future cruises booked after January2 not any that are already booked.

Called again, to make sure I had it right and was told, it is for ALL cruises, already booked or future bookings. To start Jan 2.

SO.....Celebrity reps also have no clue...depending on who you speak to.

Seems to be the case regardless of subject you ask them about.

  6. Mainly don't care but since we sailed with Costa' Captain Francesco Schettino the year prior to his major wreck (concordia) just like to know who they are for a quick search about their character/safety record. Usually find most to be friendly others to be very arrogant (Schettino). The attitude of the Capt can show in the actions of the crew members an I like a happy crew.

  7. When I log into the Celebrity website I see the message "Up to 20% off Specialty Dining". When I scroll down to see what's available or to book I get a message, "Sorry we cannot reserve this right now. Please try again onboard the ship." This sale is just for this weekend, so definitely won't be available at a 20% discount onboard the ship when I cruise in May 2018.

KEY WORDS = Up to 20% off

    Not 20% off.

  8. Didn't wear one two years ago for our Caribbean cruise however didn't stop at Cuba. Just a long sleeve dress shirt an pants, plenty of others did the same. Did we get the stink eye from some passengers - YES but crew/staff didn't say anything. Some of those very same stink eye people took their jackets off when they were seated and many more retired their jackets to their cabins once dinner was over. Feel like packing it for maybe all of an hours worth of wearing - I don't anymore.

  9. Join the club. Their phone reps are extremely hit or miss regardless of sailing destinations including basic questions for embarkation in Florida. Have emailed a few questions over two MONTHS ago an still no reply. Asked the questions on here an got the answers by over 20 people in less than 3 DAYS. Personally if this is how they treat new cruisers to their company we won't sail with them again. Already told the TA for our group we're not impressed so far.
