Hi, looking for a beach no more than 20 min away from ship that has chairs and umbrellas to rent. Any suggestions? We just want some time on the beach. Escambron looks good but I don't think they have chairs for rent.

Is a 12:00 pm flight too early for a cruise that ends in Norfolk? I’ve never cruised from Norfolk before. What do you think?

Same here! We are planning on doing that in Corfu, as it looks like it stops right by the pier. Tripadvisor reviews aren't so great, so we are a bit worried. Seems the major complaint is the wait time between buses if you get off - up to one hour. If we don't do the hop on hop off we may just grab a taxi into town.
I looked at the map for the Hop-On, Hop-Off bus and there are 2 lines. One goes to the Acheillon palace (I'm sure I didn't spell that right, lol) and the other goes to more spots that I think we'd like to stop at. The line with the palace runs much less frequently, so that could be why reviews complained about how long people waited. Maybe they didn't realize the two lines had different schedules? You can buy tickets for either line or for both. Check this out: https://city-sightseeing.com/en/44/corfu/335/hop-on-hop-off-corfu
Now I'm debating a beach trip because friends suggested Glyfada beach. Guess tonight I'll have to see what my family wants to do.

Has anyone taken the Hop-on hop-off tour bus in Corfu? It looks like a pleasant way to spend the day but I'd love to hear your reviews of it.
Thanks!

The easiest and fastest (those two often don't go together) option is to simply walk across the pier and take a ferry to Sorrento.
Ferries depart from Molo Beverello at Naples, which is adjacent to the cruise port.
You don't need to buy tickets in advance, just get over to the ticket office 15 - 30 minutes before departure time. You can buy your return at the same time, there's no reason not to as there is only one line (Alilauro) that works this route.
The first ferry of the day departs at 9 AM, so I would head over around 8:30, buy the tickets, then stroll around the immediate area and enjoy the view (Castel Nuovo, for example, is right across the street).
This ferry puts you in Sorrento at 9:45 AM.
The afternoon return ferries are at 2 PM and 4:25 PM.
Thanks for confirming that the ferry was the way to go. I tried buying tickets in advance (just to confirm the times) but it told me the route wasn't available. I'm guessing that tickets for July aren't available yet but I got concerned. I appreciate you and others letting me know that the ferry was the way to go!

Our cruise stops in Naples and our plan is to go to Sorrento for the day. Has anyone done this? What's the best way to get there and back? What should we make sure to see or do in Sorrento? We've already done Pompeii, Capri and the Amalfi coast so Sorrento seems like a good idea for us.

Anyone out there who has traveled from Naples to Sorrento for the day? Any tips would be appreciated.

I'm looking for information from anyone who has stopped in Naples on a cruise and spent the day in Sorrento - when we stop in Naples, our plan is to head to Sorrento for the day. Has anyone taken the ferry to Sorrento? Can we do this trip on our own? Any info would be appreciated.

I just went to the coop site to purchase the tickets for the underground tour and panoramic view. None of the dates in July 2019 were showing as available. I’m guessing those dates aren’t opened yet for booking.

Thanks for the answers to my question!

Anyone know if I can punch a hole in the card key for the Infinity? I usually bring my own lanyard and a hole punch so it's easy to carry my card key around but last October on Royal Caribbean Anthem the hole I punched ruin the key's ability to open my cabin door 😞 I'm sailing on the Infinity in July and want to know if I need to get a plastic case to hold my card or if I can use my hole punch. Thanks for the help!

We stop in Corfu in July. Still figuring out what to do and whether to include a beach stop or not.

Thanks for the responses. First, we didn't cancel 48 hrs in advance because nothing in the forecast said the weather was going to be that bad. Plus we figured our flight was on Friday morning, the cruise left on Saturday, and if we were delayed we figured there was ample time to get to Galveston on another flight. We were wrong! Second, to be honest, we never even considered meeting the ship a few days into the cruise. We wanted to take the whole trip, not just a few days of it. And when we called Carnival, the agent did NOT tell us that we should try to make it to the ship even after we explained the situation and said we had the insurance. They certainly knew that the insurance coverage was iffy (I can't imagine this hasn't happened to other passengers) and they should have suggested we try to make it to another port. Lastly, we were also on the phone with the insurance company and they didn't say anything about trying to get to another port either. Talk about HORRIBLE customer service! It's the first time I've ever had a problem getting to a cruise, and even a slight hint that we should have gotten to any port at all would have been eye-opening. Yes, maybe that makes me short-sighted but my family planned for a week-long cruise and it never occurred to us to try and get to another port.

We had to cancel our Carnival cruise on Jan. 6, 2018 because of the unprecedented snow blizzard that hit the east coast on 1/4/18. United Airlines cancelled our 1/5/18 flight and couldn't rebook us on anything that allowed us to make the cruise. The earliest flight we could take was on Monday, 1/8. We had the travel insurance that Carnival sells so felt it was ok to cancel - after all, our cruise ticket said we'd get 100% back in cash if we had to cancel - even for severe weather. So today we get an email that says Aon won't pay us at all. I called and was told I have to provide proof that United could not get us to the ship in time for our sailing ... and in the same breath, the agent said we have to show that we'd have missed 50% of the cruise. Anyone have the same problem? What documentation do I need to get from United Airlines (I guess) that shows what I need to get my $$ back?? Help!!

1cruisingal, we booked the Hilton Rose Hall resort through Resortforaday.com (aka RFD). We are on the Carnival Freedom sailing this Sat, so I will post after we get back and let you know how it was. RFD required a $53 deposit per person and that includes transportation to and from the ship. Fingers crossed it was a good choice!! (Kinda disappointed that no one responded to my request for reviews.)

Where's the best beach in Cozumel with snorkeling from the beach?
-
I don't have a review for you, but I just got some info from Hilton Rose Hall:
"JUTA Taxi cost US$50 one way for 1-4 persons."
How easy is it to get a cab at the port? I'm concerned about how easy it is to take a JUTA taxi.

Looking for reviews of Sunscape Splash, Hilton Rose Hall, and Grand Palladium. How is the food, the beach? Did you book through resortsforday.com or another website? We want a nice beach, good food, and would love snorkeling from the beach. Also, how far from the cruise port are these resorts? Leaving next Sat on the Carnival Freedom, 2 adults and 2 college age kids. Thanks for any info you all can give me!
-
We have late dining on the Freedom - will we be able to enjoy the movies on deck? What time do they usually go on? We are cruising in January 2018.

Thanks, but I was hoping someone who had been to that port could give me more information. Guess I will call the terminal directly and see what they can tell me. My mom is very worried about how far she may have to walk before getting someone to come with a wheelchair.
-
How close to the terminal building at Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale can a car service drop off passsengers? My mom is disabled and needs wheelchair help to get into the terminal and I'm trying to figure out how far she'll have to walk on her own before getting wheelchair assistance. We will be on Royal Caribbean's Allure of the Seas.

Thanks for all the responses! I was hoping to spend less than $100 to get us all back to the airport, and would have liked to keep the group together until the airport. The vans at the port will work, especially now that I know that they shouldn't charge more than $15 for the whole van, NOT per person. Thanks for that info, CruiserBruce!

What's the best way for a group of 10 to get from Port Everglades to Ft. Lauderdale airport? Royal Caribbean has shuttle bus at $10+ per person but I was hoping I could do better on our own. Any suggestions?

I'm loving the warmer winter we've had so far, too! But even with that, 50 degrees and moving south ---- is it going to be warm enough to use the pool on our first full day sailing? I don't think so but it would be great if we could.
