  1. Well we are now in Athens, flew in this pm, actually super easy and quick. We got off the plane and into a taxi inside 20mins of touchdown - incredible! Staying at the Electra Metropolis in the centre of town with an amazing view of the Acropolis. We have also had our bid accepted to upgrade from inside guarantee to infinity balcony, which is brilliant, we bid the minimum amount so very pleased with that.

  2. Hiya we will be joining you on this cruise! Very excited to fly out from Heathrow tomorrow to Athens. If you see me lurking around the Martini or Sunset bar please come over and introduce yourself. My name is Saffron and husband is Malcolm and we live in Sussex. I’m not entirely sure how many cruises we have done, but we were on a staycation cruise on Silhouette in June which was fun, didn’t even get off the boat for 6 days, Celebrity excursions only on that trip. The only thing I haven’t got my head around is what to do on each island, don’t like organised excursions prefer to do my own thing!

Best of luck on your MoveUp offer! We leave SFO on Wednesday and land in the UK on Thursday morning with a long layover before we fly down to Athens. We are working through all the forms as we'll... So much paperwork...

We will see if they take the bid. Don’t envy you the two flights, hope it isn’t too arduous. Worth it though when you land in Athens! I’m looking forward to looking around the city and visiting the famous sites. We haven’t booked anything yet on the islands, need to look into that tomorrow!

  4. I am also waiting for something to happen on Moveup, we are also on the 25th sailing and flying Heathrow to Athens on Wednesday. We booked a week ago and are bidding from inside to balcony. Only put just over minimum bid on sunset and infinite and they are both ‘pending’! To be honest we are not overly bothered if we remain in an inside cabin as we have already had a staycation cruise on Silhouette in June and I did a mini cruise on Princess in August. We ideally wanted to go to the Caribbean or Florida on this holiday but can’t get into the States and decided against the islands at this time so thought this cruise would be a good alternative. If the Moveup bid thing doesn’t work I’m going to enquire about an upgrade when we get on board. To be fair the biggest pain in the ass is all the forms I’ve had to fill in today online …….

As laslomas says, I don't think we'll know what the restrictions will be until we sail. The latest information is on the website (updated 9th June i.e yesterday)

    https://www.celebritycruises.com/gb/healthy-at-sea/uk-travel-requirements

Currently, getting off in port on our own will be allowed IF local regulations allow.

Facemasks to be worn inside but NOT outside or if eating/drinking

Thanks for the updated info. Well let’s hope that Scotland has relaxes restrictions and we can leave the ship. I was thinking about taking train to airport and pick up a hire car for day. Quick smooch around the loch. I’m not into organised excursions. Or maybe a stroll around Glasgow would be nice, have never been. Very glad don’t have to wear masks outside though!

    From the other thread:

“I have been a bit concerned now that there is speculation that the Government's Step 4 may be pushed back by a couple of weeks. In Step 3 the guidelines are that UK Domestic cruises are limited to 1000passengers or 50% capacity, whichever is the lowest. So if we remain in Step 3 could the cruise could be oversubscribed? The limit will be 1000 - and Celebrity are giving away 100 free cabins equating to another 200 passengers. “

I’m wondering if there will be itinerary changes?😱
Our cruise on 06/08/21 has 3 Scottish ports.

I’m wondering if the 3 July cruise will be cancelled .......

  7. Just booked for 3rd July!

Very excited to get back on a boat it’s been a while! We were booked to go to Portugal for 10 days on 28th June but have had to cancel because it’s now on the amber list. To be fair I never thought I would book a cruise to Scotland! This cruise was my backup plan. Very good value, especially as hotels in the UK are super expensive this Summer and restaurant bookings a nightmare. Husband and I in one balcony and my son in an interconnected balcony cabin next door. His fare is heavily discounted for one person.
