  1. We will be cruising on the mini cruise on 23rd May with our 7 (almost 8) month old daughter and although we've been cruising before I never paid much attention to baby related things.

Are babies allowed in pools on Explorer? With a swimsuit and swim nappy of course.

What have people done in regards to sterilising sippy cups and spoons?

At the moment (she is just turned 5 month) she is breastfed and I am hoping to introduce baby led weaning next month but will also be giving mashed food hence the spoon. How have you found Explorer for this type of thing? Are the MDR staff happy to give a small bowl with potato or veg for you to mash up?

Do they have high chairs available in MDR and Windjammer? Do you need to reserve them?

Any other advice you could give would be greatly appreciated.

  2. We had a wonderful experience with RCL on gluten free. Both of my kids are, along with being Asperger's. We also filled out the special needs form. Each night we had the matri'd stop by to check on the food. At the end of the meal we ordered the next night's meal. One night it was my daughter's birthday and they made her a special gluten free cupcake to celebrate. Our server, along with all the wait staff, were very attentive about what they could and couldn't eat.

Had the same experience at the Wind Jammer, etc. They went out of the way to make sure the cruise was special.

We've had similar experiences on RCI too, especially on a TA on Liberty last year.

I can't eat gluten and was a bit nervous about having to ask for "something different" like Redsox said "your on holiday, you want to relax and not have to think about what you're eating" but I only had to mention it to our fantastic waiting staff once and they took car of everything. A different flavour of gf bread was bought over every night, at the end of the meal they would bring over the menu for the next day for me to pick something. They didn't even mind when on one night I decided that I didn't really want the main meal that I'd picked the night before (yes I know I'm a pain in the ass) they happily told me what alternatives there were.

    They were fantastic! :D
