  1. Cannot do photo texts...if you are in "dead zone" not "at cellular sea" could not text. While on Serenade last week was very spotty. People have to SMS text back on iPhone cannot MMS text. Took my husband three days to figure out before we were able to text. We were not told this. Make sure you get all directions on how to use. :(:(

  2. it's a 30 minute car ride .... how bad can it be??? I can see stressing about getting TO the airport to catch a flight, but not to the hotel.

I'd go with Already There unless they're price is outrageous. The reports here are stellar.

Did you use the search feature on this forum to find posts about Sabra?

    Good luck !

It's not the time it's the cost. And the last posts on Sabra are from 2011...

  3. Derek Lewis. He's on Facebook as FiveMinuteParty. I think he's doing a tour on Celebrity until Rhapsody goes back to Alaska this summer.

I sure hope he will be on the Rhapsody in Alaska...:p Have enjoyed him when he was on Rhapsody and Voyager out of Galveston.

Yes, I have read this but it is sad that people have to post things like this because they (1) don't believe in alternative medicine or (2) are afraid of alternative medicine. My father-in-law was a General Surgeon and had an acupuncturist in his office. You can have both in your life. The reason we have so much disease in our world is because we are over-medicated. We need to get back to nature...

  5. On my afternoon run yesterday, I started thinking about our recent cruise and feeling sorry for myself that I was back in the ‘real world’ of work, bills, house and all the other responsibilities. I was quickly reminded of a couple that we met while onboard this time. At dinner one evening we were talking about some of the living conditions in the countries that we had visited during the week. As the sobering thoughts began to marinate in our minds the husband made a simple, yet profound statement, “we are blessed to cruise”. Though I knew this, it was a good reminder to me to be thankful for every moment.

Sometimes we get so caught up in what we want, on what we think we deserve to have, that we can’t enjoy the simple beauty of being at sea. I know that I am guilty. I mean, how dare they stop putting chocolates on my pillow at night! And how could he forget my towel animal… I need one every night! What?!?!... the Midnight buffet is gone??? (they really did me a favor with that decision) So, I asked myself, “if it was stripped down to just a cruise would I still do it? No shows, no singers, no Flowrider, no rock climbing wall, if the food was just okay, etc.… would I still cruise?” My answer was YES!!!

I know that it takes hard earn dollars and lots of them to cruise, so I’m not suggesting that we should not try to get the most for our money. I am all for finding the best deals possible. But, if we get some food that we don’t like, get something else. If the service was lacking, maybe the waiter was having a bad day or week (we all do). If the line is too long, maybe it’s worth it/maybe not… Let’s face it; there is always something that you can complain about if you are looking for it.

Let’s just remember how blessed we are to cruise… Happy sailing!!!

Thank you! Beautiful words...we are spoiled sometimes. What would happen if we left a chocolate for our room steward or a towel animal? Little things can do wonders. We are blessed and we can bless. Praying your day is blessed...

  6. We're bringing all our "natural" anti infectives: Thieves (Young Living Essential Oils), Germ Fighter (Plant Therapy), and the like. But I also bought a container of Cavi-Wipes on Amazon after reading another thread about the ineffectiveness of anti-bacterial solutions on viruses. Can't hurt to cover all the bases, can it? Then just be careful of what you touch - hand railings, elevator buttons, serving utensils - and wash hands frequently and thoroughly. Think Howard Hughes. You might look funny, but it's "better to feel good than to look good."

I will have my Thieves Spray, Hand Sanitizer and wipes...that should do it. All essential oils. This plus washing my hands and prayers is all I can do to stay well. I also plan on bring my diffuser to diffuse Purification or Thieves in our stateroom. :p

  7. We were on the Rhapsody for 7 night Alaska cruise out of Seattle last June.

Beautiful ship. Fantastic crew. Our only complaint was that our Junior Suite was right under on of the Ping pong tables, so a bit noisy during the day.

If the Windjammer is busy, even on embarkation day, try the cafe in the Solarium. Limited menu but good salads and sandwiches.

One note of warning if you are going out of Seattle. The port was VERY disorganized on embarkation day. I had the feeling that it was staffed by local port employees and not RCCL employees, but it am not sure of that. Very chaotic.....just be prepared.

This was our 8th cruise and first to Alaska. Fantastic trip. Have a great time!

We are going this year in June...what was the weather like? What would you suggest the most important thing to pack for the weather? Boots, down jackets, etc. ? Thanks!
