we had the wonderful VINNIE through ItalyTours.eu for a PERSONAL NAPLES/POMPEII/SORRENTO/POSITANO tour! A young family of four. 
It was a fantastic full day and they were very accomodating to us. 

The day was very full on and tiring but it was enjoyable. 

I do wish I could have done this over 2 days not 1. 

Vinnie is Italian but lived in NYC for 10 years making pizza. He likes American pizza. Shame shame (joking, not joking!!!!) His great english is a plus for tourists. 

oh no of all ports to miss, what a huge shame!!!! 

We were on the viva in August. Rome to Venice. Wonderful but extremely busy with no sea days and terribly hot weather especially in the first half of the trip. Hard to handle with children involved. 

The ship had all the WOW factor when we hopped onboard, how gorgeous. For me personally that does start to wear off half way through the trip! 

when is Viva's maiden voyage? 

wait, LUIS FONSI will be on board? Or just for 1 show or something??? 

if we reserve tables at the complimentary dining rooms, like hudsons, is it a big deal if we are running late or decide not to go ? we want to book something in each night but its hard to know how our children will cope after port stops and excursions literally every day. With the time change from Australia to Europe, I just don't know what to expect regarding dinner times!!! 

do you think for an 8 hour tour, we would have time for pompeii, a photo stop in Sorrento and a proper stop in Positano then? 

who has the better swimming beaches? would we have time to tell our driver to stop for a swim?

im confused I have read that Positano is just absolutely stunning but then all of these tours spend more time in Sorrento and just a quick photo stop in Positano - why is this? 

what would I be better off spending my time doing with the children? 

I have booked a fully private tour with 2 adults and our 2 children aged 6 and 9. 

the tour will be for pompeii, sorrento and requested a swim and look around Positano 

given the traffic etc etc it sounds likely this might not even happen??? Any suggestions? 

loving and appreciating all the feedback, keep it coming - we will be doing a fully private Pompeii, Sorrento & Positano tour with 2 children. I hope we've made the right decision with the children in tow! 

I feel like our passports would be safer kept on the ship than out and about foreign streets with our children in tow 😕  😕  😕  😕

We are docking in Ravenna for 11 hours. 10am til 9pm. 

I have booked a Ferrari museum tour which I thought my kids would like but that runs from 1:30pm til 6:30pm. 

So I'd say we'd hop straight back onto the ship when we get back but we definitely have a few hours to spend in the morning. 

Any suggestions as to what to do ? The kids are 6 and 9 so they should be able to sustain a fair bit.

We are 2 adults 2 kids finishing our NCL cruise in Trieste. 

If I'm not mistaken, Trieste port is about 1km to Trieste Centrale? 

That's a bit too far for us to walk with so much luggage.

We won't fit in a standard size vehicle. 

Will it be easy to take a taxi van to the station? We need to get to Venice. 

Please correct me if my plans sound incorrect. 

how is the NCL VIVA going? 
I'm getting nervous I saw something about some production delays?

thank you so much for mentioning the Sea Organ. I haven't heard of it before and I think you're right on the money - we will try get there as I believe we would be pleased to see the kids show interest in this!! 

can we expect plenty of shuttle busses and taxis around regardless of where NCL docks us?

we are thinking of booking a Krka excursion which goes for 5 hours 

so we would be dropped off back at the NCL cruise terminal with a few hours to spare 

is getting around Zadar near the ships port easy? is there plenty to see there or do we need to hop back in a 2nd tour or taxi? 

please send ideas to fill in a few hours 🙂

so given what you have said if others were to also agree, it would probably make sense for us to take the Krka excursion from Zadar to free up other options in Split... ?

if we had the option to visit Krka from Zadar or Split, would you choose to do it from Zadar to free up other options for Split or VICE VERSA? 

would you recommend doing a guided or non guided visit to Pompeii WITH KIDS? Kids are 5 and 8 years. Not sure what to expect of them especially in the August summer weather. 

italytours.eu are significantly cheaper and we are hoping to use them too, provided recent feedback and reviews is still great?!
